Is Jio Set Top Box better than DTH
We were forced to install the Jio set-top box because our DTH operators were not allowed to put antennas on the new building here. I already have a Tata Sky connection, which I wanted to transfer here, but since antenna is not allowed, Tata Sky also couldn't do anything. And that is why I had to opt for Jio set-top box for my father to watch content on television. Now Tata Sky is in my mother's name, and in her memory I haven't cancelled the account, I've just suspended it for 3 years. Who knows, if after 3 years antenna is allowed, I will definitely install that Tata Sky again.

Bhai I can clearly see the frustration on your face. Pichle 6 months se main bhi Jio Fiber use kar raha tha/hun. Their STB is indeed one of the most complicated ones when it comes to navigation.Their internal hardware is good and apps like Hotstar, Netflix etc. work pretty good. But when it comes to live TV, it sucks big time. Khud ka operating system daala hua hai Jio ne, so you can't install apps like Spotify, MX Player etc. either. Besides, live TV comes with advertisements right? Par ye jio wale channels ke beech mein apni khud ki ads bhi dete rehte hain. Matlab double ads. Abhi last week hi maine Airtel Xstream lagvaya hai thak haar ke and trust me...DTH DTH hi hai bhai. Jio mein agar internet kharab hua to TV bhi ni dekh sakte because everything is internet based, Airtel mein at least TV to chalega agar internet issue hua bhi! I really feel bad for your parents bro. Trust me bro mere parents khud Airtel Xstream use kar rahe hain aur unko dekh kar maine bhi lagva liya. I wish your society grants permission for antenna installation 🙏

The fact is with all these tech advances DTH is slowly fading away .. feel bad for our elders who won't be able to pick up this tech at all ... The only option left will be the cable guy who will act as if he is doing a favour giving u connections

Thank god I chooses Tata play previous month.... Bht doubt mein tha jio ya DTH... Parents hi dekhte hein TV.. isi complexity ki dar tha... Aaj clear hua ki dicision sahi tha

@@rousbagaming depend karta hain .... DTH easier to use hain to ghar ke busurg bhi easily use kar payenge... STB normal TV ko bhi smart TV bana dega ... Par usage vise thoda complicated hain .. it's a learning curve ... For us it's feasible but parents normally frustrate ho jaate hain
bhai agar tv smart hai to usmein sare ott apps ka alag se subscription lena pdega...isme 200 extra pay se sare ott apps mil rahe hain...
Bhai Disney+ Hotstar mein kya direct live sports nahi dikhraha hai?

Nahi dikhta ... Jio said as this is not DTH it's not allowed as per law to show live broadcast on the app .. isliye IPL ke waqt channel rights hotstar ke paas the ... Aur app rights jio ke paas the ... Isliye jio cinema pe free rakha tha woh
Bro just learn your papa about jio tv + opeing then write down all channels number list. Then He can tune any channel only by typing number. Itne saste me kuch compilcated toh milega

Have written down , the issue is in DTH it directly goes to the channel like how cable used to be , here it connects via apps , which makes the process complicated, once an app is opeaned like hotstar , then you can't type further channel numbers, you have to exit the app first ...

No need to worry about rain. Even during rains u will get all channels. Better than most DTH. Most certainly better than fucked up AIRTEL

@@kgravikumar DTH with a common antenna doesn't go off during rains ... Only with individual antennas that's an issue ... Had tata sky on a common antenna for the last 3 years it worked pretty well without disruption

@@nik2.o419 set top box is like a ott box jo tumhare tv main direct connected hain ... Mobile casting chromcast se hoga ... But in this case most mobile apps directly tv pe available hain .. baaki they have jio photos to see photos after signing in .... Rest once stb le liye uske baad mobile pe bhi saare apps same password se login karke alag dekh sakte ho

I wanted to go for Airtel but unhone kaha aapke block me line nhi hai humari sath wali block me hai. Aur koi company ka option hai jisme cable aur wifi dono mile Delhi me?? Antenna lgwa skta hu wo issue nhi hai aur TV smart nhi hai mera..

@@kunalsharan007 TV smart nahi hain to jio lagwa sakte ho ... Complicated hain .. lekin is desh main filhaal options hain nahi ... DTH is good but TV ko smart nahi banayega ... Jio STB smart bana dega .. uske saath jio Fiber ka internet hain ... The other option is Amazon fire TV or Google Chromecast.. but usme sab apps ke alag se subscription lene padenge ... Normal TV use karna hain without complications to DTH or Cable

Bhai ji Airtel 👌 ka hi Airfiber lagwa liya fir maine Usme line meri block tak laane ki zaroorat nhi thi. Cable k liye Antenna bhi hai Aur 4K ANDROID Set Top Box hai.

@@aomsingh2078 Airfiber sabka problematic hain ... I feel it's nothing more than the revised version of the Wi-Fi dongle we used to get earlier, but less portable
There is no wastage of money coz, they are not charging money for jio set top box as well as the live channels, you are only paying for data

@@sahelghosh5276 the system is complicated to use ... That is an issue for older people.. rest the set top box is free when the tata DTH connection was taken ... OTT currently is at a lower charge, we never know how that is going to pan out ... DTH needs to survive to keep the prices in check

@@GausDayOut the hotstar issue was there in my stb also and it has been sorted now. Jio tv have a tie up with hotstar to view the live hindi, regional and sports channels of hotstar.

@@GausDayOutsame experience. That's why we cut our cable connection 10 years ago. After 7-8 days your parents will get used to interface. Same happened with me when we get our first android tv. Everything was operated with different apps but with time my parents get used to all th apps and interface just give some time to them

U can take 399 plan(airtel standby) if internet is not much required(10 Mbps) And 599+ plans if internet is needed(30 mbps) iss wale m shyd kuch hd channels b included h
Airtel fiber basic plan 399 10mbps unlimited 3333gb pm data OTT apps via x stream plus 350+ cabel channels
