Zealot and Grifter are the two best characters on the team, not having them playable was an instant turn off.

SNES DRUNK ! SNES DRUNK! SNES DRUNK! i like long sophisticated review but i love your down to earth practical simple and clean style.
You’re going to get to 100k subs soon man. Love your whole channel
Keep up the great vids mate.
Decent enough beat 'em up, but where the hell was Grifter!? He was my favorite.

KidShoryuken kinda hard to do a beatem up with guy with guns. Except I guess they did with punisher. Weird as that is.

He could've played like Spartan I guess, punches and kicks with his guns as a special attack, or attack with knives or something. Damn it, somebody bring back the Wild C.A.T.S!

I really dig 16 bit beat em up's.
AWESOME Work as ALWAYS brotha! Loved this Game N' the X-Men comic's, The cards were pretty gnarly too. This was a good beat em up. Again, Great Job 👍
Pirates of dark water was an awesome show. I can’t believe it got axed...especially just as Ren beat back the dark dweller and making headway with the treasures
Another great video. Nice work, man!
I remember the series. One of my favorite cartoons on the weekends!
Nice review. I used to own that game. And yes, the music was very cool. I think some themes came from the animated series soundtrack.
Ehhh SDrunk! Always love the retrospect! You sound like you know what you’re talking about w/ Image comics, so I thought I’d recommend Invincible! It’s getting an animated series soon but the whole run is worth a read!

I actually like this game but I completely agree with some of the things you point out as faults. Also, Maul's head is like super tiny compared to his body and it makes me laugh.
Sucks you can't play the other 3 characters Grifter, Zealot and Voo Doo. And no 2 player coop.

@Sloan Jackson Is that why in my roms collection one game is Final Fight Guy? See a lot of diff versions of games and dont always have the time to see which are fan games and which are by the original makers

@@joepoelmans5910 exactly, they did a re-release where Guy replace Cody and it's tweaked there and there, but still no co-op so it's worthless besides collection wise (i think it's pretty expensive because it was a gamestop rental exclusive or something)
Something about WildC.A.T.s that I just loved, quite possibly because I was there at the start of it for once, but something about it's flavor screamed new and exotic while giving very comforting "familiar" feelings. Great series overall; the figures were awesome.
No “thanks for watching and I hope you a great rest of your day”!!? Mind blown....
I loved this game! And the comics. And I even had trading cards!!

Chris L me too. I loved image
I got this one; though I really dig 16-bit beat em ups!
I had all five of those X-Men covers too.. Good times!👍 I also had the first appearance of "Omega Red" From that series.
This game does look pretty awesome! I would have just wanted xmen though.
I've played this game maybe only three times ,first time I rented the game and I can only go so far in the stage when the game freezes up ,a couple of years back I downloaded the rom and it had the exact glitch as the cartridge all those years back ,all those stages you showed in this video are all new to me
Cool video game! Awesome episode Drunk!
Big fan from Portugal =)
That sountrack is bangin'!
I completely forgot about this game. Jim Lee is the man!
Love this series.
Thank you
Totall forgot about this one. Who knew IMAGE had a game!? Awesome!

Adam Peterson There was a Spawn game on the SNES, too!
Haha! Oh man, that last gameplay clip when you lifted and tossed the enemy, only to have your player IMMEDIATELY lifted and tossed yourself! Merciless!
Wildcats had the best theme song as a kid the one and only 😜 cats her voice on that theme song was everything bro
I love 90's image comics and I love 90's beat'em ups but this game is just too redundant, slow, and clunky in my opinion. However, I still enjoyed this video and the nostalgia it brought back! Thanks :)
Thanks as always, SNES drunk. Greetings from Germany and keep it up, mate. :) PS: Have you taken a peek at Evoland 1 and Evoland 2, I think you will like them?
Image Comics were such a product of the late 90s.

I agree with others. It was more early 90s. By the late 90s they were struggling and had oversaturated the market. Their comics value went down on all but the most rare of a select few.

Early 90s
And I want to thank you for watching and have a great rest of your day.
I was wondering when you'd get around to this one. I'd say it's slightly above average for a SNES Beat'em up. And it's one of the better games from that era based on a comic book. It is a bit of a slog, but the pixel art, music, and story do make up for it. It's good enough to add it to your SNES classic or retropie machine.
Great video! This game looks like a pretty solid 1 player beat-em-up to me. Does anyone know how the difficulty compares to something like The Death and Return of Superman?
I had a Warblade action figure as a kid.
Only 13 episodes. Geez I thought it was more. I loved the badass theme song
Cool 👍😊🎮
I have or had a video of Garfield taped off the TV from my childhood that has commercials for the show.
Yes I remember Pirates of Dark Water never played the game but I remember the cartoon me and my daddy still watching he had to collect Jewels or gems something like that
Never heard of it looks cool though!
This woulda be awesome as a kid. Instead I had the crappy Wolverine Adamantium Rage 😔
I thought this was a totally different game when I clicked XD lol I thought it was that game based on the cartoon of Wild Cats

SuperDan no, the comic from 1992
I will be eternally disappointed that the Wildcats game didn't have Zealot and Grifter. The game was pretty decent though, I kind of forgot about it. I'm gonna have to track it down.
Do the cool world game or Harley's humongous adventure that game used 2 be one of my favorites
Im hammered, cool game
I had a Maul action figure that was a cool toy it was big and bulky and was champion of my action figure wrestling league
Wild cats was the shit never played the game but if they made a movie id watch it
Hold up there was a wildcats game ! Mind blown!
AHHHHHHH!!!! I miss Wildcats
never played this game but use to watch the cartoon series when i was 10 in 1994 only lasted one season to bad they didnt do a video game of skeleton warriors
Why the hell are you fighting Darkman!?
I’ve been looking for young Merlin

I have not been able to complete these games to this day and probably won’t ever be able to due to new games that I embarrassingly cannot complete as well
I remember buying this and beating it in two hours some good stuff in there but i wouldn't go hunting for a copy of it
One player, and only a few characters? Man. I would still give it a shot though.
I love your channel, but it's really making me realize how few true "classics" were on the SNES while there was so much shovelware.
Alright Maul, time to get tall!
This and The Shadow are beatem ups that could had been a lot better
90 minute playthrough :-O
i LOVED image comics in 1992 and even valiant comics (they are HOT then) with titles such as rai, magnus robot fighter, turok the dinosaur hunter, and harbinger

H.A.R.D. Corps was great! I loved Image as well, as a kid I grew bored with Marvel when the focus of a particular issue of Spider Man was Mary Jane's emotional struggle to quit smoking. Even back then I knew there was something ultimately lame about where Marvel was going. Even The Punisher started getting soft, which is inexcusable. Then I discovered Image and was hooked. The first issue I read was Shadowhawk #1 and that was all I needed to get as many Image comics that my allowance could afford. When Image and Valiant did the Deathmate crossover, I'm pretty sure that was the first asexual boner I achieved when finding out about it.

3:47 inspector gadget?
The cartoon was kool when i was a kid
I begged my parents for this game based on the box art alone and having no knowledge of the franchise. That was a lesson well learned.
Pirates of darkwater was an amazing tv series, I was so into it I even tried to petition the original creator to finis the series back in 2015. Video game was not good
I’m 32, and sick of the cash grabbing new games. Sooooo I just bought a SNES!!! 😜
I loved the he cartoon
Never got the chance to own many of these SNES games back in the day. So expensive in the UK. I remember feeling so guilty getting my parents to buy them because I knew even as a kid the RRP was a rip off
Reminds me of Maximum Carnage
To be fair most games from the 80s and 90s had great music to it
What is that song at 1:30 ??? Final fantasy?
Christ, I forgot about Pirates or Dark Water...
Image Comics is the result of the little guy serving up a reckoning
hi im a fan of your channel and your review videos, i ask you why you dont start to do a playstation drunk series that covers the whole playone play two psp eras, in a way similar to the sega drunk
Good review but I gotta disagree! I don't care for Image Comics and never heard of WildCATS. But I played for the first time recently and think this is a quality beat em up. You noted a lack of run which is true but there is a dive kick! I think it was intended bc at least Spartan and Warblade have one and they're both executed differently. This helps mobility a ton. I also found some of the things you complained about to exist in more modern games, particularly length. I'm using save states so maybe that makes length more palatable. Similarly, Streets of Rage 4 has those environmental hazards, in abundance. I'm ok with them in both.
Jim Lee is with DC now
Image was the shit back in the day
Omg remember WildCats...
No Zealot or Grifter? They're the only ones I really know, thanks to the old OverPower card game.
I knew my favorite character (Zealot) wasn't playable before I even tried the game so my expectations weren't that high to begin with. I only played the game for a few minutes because it was frustrating.
.thank you snes drunk
Is it me or does the audio sound weird on this one? o.0
Dam i got it ... At 4:04 that is a rip off of The Warriors soundtrack ...
I wouldn't say that War of the gems is overall better, but yeah, Wild CATS hasn't aged that great. I would agree with your definition of okay-ish, there's a bunch of better games, but it isn't a bad game.
Looks like decent beatemup. Sadly it's the first time i hear about this game...
better than the tick
This was a game? Seriously tyrion lannister was their professor x
Zealot should also have been made playable
A fantastic game that left a lot on the table when the development was rushed after the cancellation of the cartoon. If you had 2 player and 1-2 more characters it would rock. This review is biased by my love for the characters and because I only paid $5 for it. At full price when it was released I'm sure I would look less favorably upon it.
I think a game like X-men: Mutant Apocalypse or X-men: Clone Wars would be better, since this is a team that is very similar to the Marvel mutants.
I've never played this game.
Loved this game it just felt clunky and slow
Wildcats🎶 wildcats🎶
I never knew this existed. So many of these SNES games are unknown to my video game illiterate ass
