    The problem with being drafted to the Magic is that you're the shiny new lottery pick until the next season and then you are no longer the priority. With the reemergence of Fultz and if the Magic manages to draft Wemba or Scoot, Suggs is not even gonna be an afterthought, he might even be relegated to the bench.

    Playing better and staying healthy would negate that. He might just be a college star, but NBA role player. PG is the toughest position in the league these days

    I dont buy this argument given that Suggs was picked in the same draft as wagner who is thriving. The time he was drafted has nothing to do with it

    @@112233JORDAN Do I have to explain to you that unlike Franz, Suggs was not doing well and that was prior to the injury. Franz is thriving because he's smart and has size. My point is if they don't produce they will be easily replaced especially in the guard position.

    as someone who watches every magic game, he is going to be just fine. He's a savant defensively, with good athleticism and playmaking skills. the only question mark is his 3pt shot, and I see no reason why it won't come around eventually, especially with how good the magic's training staff is.

    Gallo, Eric Gordon, and Brook Lopez are all top 10 picks in 08. Do we hear them getting labeled busts? No. Suggs at his worst will be an elite role player like Marcus Smart and will have a long career. His defense and hustle alone are special.

  • @M0SSADDID911

    @M0SSADDID911

    Brook Lopez has been a VERY good player for a long time. Not a star player, but certainly a top 10 center for most of his career. No one in their right mind would say he’s a bust. Gordon has been very solid, way above average for a long time. Just because you’re a top 10 pick doesn’t mean you have to be a perennial all star to not get the bust label. But top 10 picks are expected to be at least Eric Gordon level, meaning a really solid franchise player, career starter, and a part of his team’s ‘big 3’ wherever he’s at, even though he’s not even close to a star player league-wide. Gallinari is a bust as a top 10 pick. As a 2nd rounder or late 1st, he wouldn’t have that label, but he was a total bust of a pick for the Knicks, and has never been part of the core of any team he’s been on. He’s been a journeyman role player. Top 10 picks are expected to be more than that. He’s not a total flop like OJ Mayo, Michael Beasley, or Joe Alexander (all top 10 picks from 08), but he underachieved for where he was drafted. Gordon and Gallinari were both busts as picks for the teams that drafted them. Gordon ended up panning out, Gallinari ended up being good enough to start most of his career, but we’ll below expectations. Lopes has not been elite, but has been a great player his whole career and was not even close to a bust pick for the Nets who drafted him. Jalen Suggs is fast approaching bust status. I thought he was a future hall of famer coming out of Gonzaga, and reminded me of Jason Kidd, but he’s been atrocious in Orlando. He’s not been nothing that resembles an elite role player. Being traded asap is probably his best and only hope.

    As a Magic fan, it seems like the reason he hasn’t been as good as anticipated is because he’s revitalizing his game. He succeeded at Gonzaga since they were mainly a post-oriented and slow paced offense, and the NBA has strayed away from slow-tempo offenses. He has the potential to become a Marcus Smart type of player once the game slows down for him, and it’s starting to look like that.

    9 times out of 10 if you're touted as an NBA ready prospect and you come in looking like you don't belong in the NBA it's not a good sign, personally I'm super low on him always have been I doubt the jumpshot will ever fall consistently and his handle needs allot of work before he can ever be considered a lead guard, however I can definately see him turning it around and having a Marcus smart esq career, but tbh I just don't see that dog that smart always had.
