Is It Worth It To Travel To Phnom Penh, Cambodia? | Top Attractions, Khmer Food + Tourist Safety
Phnom Penh was not that popular of a tourist destination in South East Asia for the last few decades, but things are changing now and changing quickly. As the capital city of Cambodia and home to over 2 million people, Phnom Penh is an up and coming SEA hub city that I think has a lot of potential and more to explore than meets the eye. Join me and my Dad as we show you around some of the top attractions in the city, try some traditional Khmer food and talk about how we feel as tourists in the city. Hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful!

*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don't have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they're especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

Just before I visited Cambodia in 2001 they installed the very first escalator in the country!! There were zero high rise buildings that I saw. It really has come a long way. Which is great as I love the Cambodian people for being so friendly and welcoming. Happy Travels
It looks absolutely beautiful. Love the architecture. 👍😊🇮🇪🇰🇭
Your Dad is such a good travel buddy! Thanks for sharing some of the history of the city. It’s so important to know the history good and bad of a location to get a deeper understanding of a country and it’s people! ❤
As an expat resident of Phnom Penh I thought this was a fun and informative travel overview of PP. It touched on the main areas and attractions that are available to a visitor. There is certainly a lot more to see and explore than what is in the clip but well done Alina and your dad for opening travelers eyes to what they could see if they visit Cambodia. A lot more people are coming here now.

I really hadn't heard much about Cambodia since the days of Khmer rouge. Your first video in country shows a stunningly beautiful city with gorgeous palaces and temples. You present a vibrant and modern city. This is definitely moved on to my must visit list based solely on your presentation. A well done video, but then why would I expect less.

Yes. While in school, I don’t recall countries like Cambodia were ever talked about in World History class. Because of the genocide, it definitely should.

@@mikewhocheeseharry5292 genocide issue had become a part of debate discussion when I was in high school. According to a datum presented in one of the debates, I realized Cambodia is at par with Bangladesh genocide, and Nazi against the Polish in term of the number of victims which indicates at about 3,000,000. The country has regained its identity and integrity into the modern era which I also think is the reason why Cambodia is currently one of the most visited tourist spots in South East Asia.

Thank you so much, super informative, I'm going there on Tuesday just booked my bus ticket and hostel is I'm excited!
Those are hornbills. There are a lot of them at Wat phnom. They are friendly. They will come to you if they see you bring fruits.
Yes, visit Phnom Penh, stay on the River, rent a dual sport and ride around the area.
Watching you videos give me an itch, iIt has been decades since I left for the US. I am back to ASIA for good.. I have been to many places you shown. It is a big different after 20 years. Thanks.
Just found you site! I was in Cambodia in 2010. You did a great job of representing the city and country. The Genocide Musuem is a “must”to see and experience. Thank you for including this place. That time in history has a huge effect on the people to this day. Thank you again!!
Happy New Year Alina! Lovely palace and you explain the importance well. 💚💚💙💙

Welcome to Cambodia🇰🇭hope you guy enjoy it’s here ❤️🙏🙏
The great hornbill (Buceros bicornis), also known as the concave-casqued hornbill, great Indian hornbill or great pied hornbill, is one of the larger members of the hornbill family. It occurs in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is predominantly frugivorous, but also preys on small mammals, reptiles and birds
You & Dad's pronunciation is perfect. I'm here this week at a terrific Dentist. Good video.
Welcome to Phnom Penh…!❤🎉
These birds are hornbills. I'm a Khmer Canadian who has not been back to my country of origin yet. Hope to snowbird there one day when retired.
Alina, your description is very accurate about the Khmer Rouge. I am impressed by you young Lady. Well said. Oh my God I want some of that fish Amok, have not had it in a long long time. Can't find any in Chicago.LOL
there's a quiet little fishing village called KEP, just south Cambodia, not far from Campot, some very nice resorts by the coast..and great restaurant's.

Once again thank you for another amazing and wonderful video. You and your dad are such amazing people. I wish I still have my mom and dad to tag along with during my vacation. the birds are called Hornbill. One interesting fact about this bird is Hornbills are mate for life. They always fly as a couple and I enjoy seeing them do that when I drove my motorbike past Wat Phnom area.

I was there in 1964. There was one French hotel on the river, can’t remember the name of it. The rooms had mosquito nets all around the beds.
