Is It Worth Buying An Insurance Write Off

I've had quite a few insurance written off motorbikes, and cars, in the past. I currently own a category N written off Ducati Multistrada motorcycle. Here's my thoughts on them.

since i moved house i no longer have a garage as it was converted to an office so i don't have anywhere to do the work, but had i, i don't see any reason why not, especially a cat N. in fact as someone who's put a few scratches & dents on everything over the years, as well as no particular like for cleaning, i wouldnt feel too bad about riding a cheap bike, & wouldnt miss that horrible feeling when you drop or scratch it, in fact it gives me a sense of 'winning' when i've had bangers or kept the same vehicle for years (last car was 14 years), but it would obviously have to be mechanically sound. having said that, ive just bought a brand new bike coz i 'wanted' one, and everytime i go out it's getting filthy which means i'm compelled to extra cleaning duty lol, but maybe next time !!. GL & thanks for the thoughts

@@ivy-mac a honda cb750 hornet. i had the money so wanted to make sure it was run in perfect and looked after as good as poss from day1. it fly's like shit off a shovel, but attracts muck just as easily, so i fitted a rear hugger and front extender, so not too bad, in fact ive just finished cleaning it about 1/2 hr ago, looks great until the next ride haha, but waddya going to do, it's for enjoying, so trying to not get to too caught up in it all, but it does feel good to ride a pristine bike, if only for a while, and i'm prepared for the depreciation somewhere down the line. I buy and sell Cat N write off vehicles. Usually they are well looked after vehicles right up to the point of collision. Then they are left out in the rain and bikes suffer due to this. Once repairs are done - there is NO difference to tell a Cat anything and a non-cat anything. The only difference is the global top 1% who own insurance companies. YOU pay THEM a massive premium. YOU make a claim and they make YOU suffer AND the vehicle ha to suffer too. Its such a scam. Most vehicles have had some form of accident damage. Even brand new stuff gets damaged and repaired from the ferry. The difference is simply down to whether of not the scammer top 1% have had to dip into their pockets. think about it for a minute.... what is THE TRUE difference between a privately repaired vehicle or a bodyshop (maybe same bodyshop) via insurance? The ONLY difference is top 1% involvement. And they will sting you for it. All these claims companies and hire charges all add to the pot and its just a silly game. Buy a damaged vehicle - repair it PROPERLY and it's perfect all over again.

@@ivy-mac I used to do bikes, cars and vans. But lost the place I lived/worked from and couldnt find financially viable alternatives. So I have an XLWB iveco daily and use that to transport other people's bikes plus work on bikes and still buy/repair/sell cat N bikes. 👍

I mentioned Motomine. They put all their bikes on eBay. They've got loads going through all the time.
