Is it safe to use the CAR WASH on a CERAMIC COATED VEHICLE?! If so- HOW??

I often times am asked the question by my customers- How do I maintain my ceramic coated or protected vehicle in the winter time? Is it safe for me to take it through the car wash? So I thought I would put together a small demonstration of how I would use the car wash during the winter to maintain your vehicle and how to properly maintain your ceramic coating. Most detailers would tell you to avoid the automatic car wash at all cost but when it's freezing conditions or you don't have access to water- what are your options? For those who rely on the automatic car wash, here are some tips on how to safely use it without damaging your ceramic coating for your vehicle.
If you'd rather avoid the car wash, remember Attention 2 Details can safely and effectively get your vehicle restored and protected for you!
**Always remember- use the non touch! Never use the soft touch!**

I just realized how calming it is to go through a car was even if I'm not in the car 😂 lol man car washing can be so soothing
Great video Chelsea. I am always telling people/friends not to use a car wash where anything touches the surface of your car. But what you added to that equation was a lot of information I didn't know about car washes. Like the high alkaline issues with the soaps etc. And, your explanation on the benefits and "how to" use a drying aid were excellent. Very educational and it just another great video. Keep up the great work Chelsea. PS So glad we left central Pennsylvania 36 years ago. Life is so much better in the sunshine...IMO ;)
Great video! Love the practicality
Great video as always!
I'm getting a lot of tips from you before i bring in my truck this spring for ceramic coating. Thanks
Thanks for this vid.👍 Aways a dilemma with touchless in the winter and residue left on the vehicle and safely removing it. I'll have to give this a try next time.
Thanks for this. I love Topper. Use it on top of TW S&S. Super easy to apply with great gloss, amazing slickness and smells great too. I also use their Xtreme suds and LVR-403 polishing glaze. I like the therapeutic nature of detailing my cars so I intentionally don't ceramic coat. Xtreme Solutions has a great lineup. Was happy to see you use Topper too. Adds some validity to this novice's thoughts. :)
Definitely the best option to get it done quick, I used to do the same thing. I would spray the wheels with super clean before I went in
Good job, thank you for the helpful info.
Great video Excellent tips thank you..
Awesome and funny video. Sign in the car wash said DONT BACK UP !!!! LOL. Right now I have a pretty good salt protection barrier on my black silverado. But its 12 degrees outside with another 6 inches of snow on top we got yesterday....aaahh. Topper is the greatest .
Great video. Thanks.
great video and info.extreme solutions are exactly what u stated.Aarom and Steve are great guys. product line if so amazing.cu on next video.
I know what you mean by getting the drive wet. I rinse my car off in the drive, turning it into a skating rink, and then use a rinseless wash in the heated garage.
Great video
Excellent video. I was looking for suggestions for my niece to keep her Lexus looking good after it snows. I provided her with a 1 gallon container of Wolfgang Uber Rinseless wash diluted to be used as a detail spray after washing. The car currently has Ethos Ceramic Wax and Ethos Defy. Touchless wash and dry with undercarriage is a really good idea.
That's amazing that you have touchless wash. The guy that was watching you possibly have seen you on the videos and was still amazed and wondering why you were there at a car wash when he knows you are a detailer and then recording the odyssey. 😉😃 excellent video and funny that you paid for someone else's wash. Look at it as you paying it forward, a great learning experience for next time and simply looking back as to just count your blessings😉😊 You learned for yourself and you taught all of us. Amazing!!!👏👌👍

Nice video. That cerakote trim is still holding up like a champ I see. This video reminds me to get more long twisted loop towels. Sucker Jr's take my money!
Actually the basic wash is the least aggressive. Presoak, wash and air dry. That’s what I always use and it’s fine and I would do a final wipe with waterless wash to completely remove the rest of the dirt.
Love the video.
Saw this on Facebook first but wanted to say thank you for always having great detailing tips and content.

I have had to do the same thing. It's been too cold to do anything else and I don't have a garage. Topper is a fantastic product.
Miyagi-do style at the end. Great tip.

I have 303G and use touchless on wife`s Rogue then pull in wash bay and get the Topper and give it a spritz :) I have had people stop and ask me what I am am doing :) I also use Topper as a drying aid when using ONR . Great people @ Extreme Solutions...
I take my car to a touchless in case I’m far from home or if it just got rained on. Because my car is ceramic coated with Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating as well. Honestly 60% of dirt comes off depending on how much is left. I just use a detail spray and some towels to clean the car and dry if needed. Since I live in the south texas with no snow it just works for me
Very helpful video. I love Topper, probably one the best detailing products I've had the pleasure to use. Great gloss, shine, reasonable longevity for the type of product it is, blows that orange stuff out of the water. I just ordered 3 two packs of the Amphibian towels, I like the 16 x 16 size, very easy to handle and they don't drag on the ground. How many touchless car washes do reccomend taking a ceramic coated vehicle through per season.

Chelsea thanks for sharing. Between continued snow in western PA or lack of time I’ve been close to running my car through the touchless wash. Great tips to keep my sealant intact for as long as I can. I’ve been using the Hybrid Solutions products on our vehicles for several months. I usually use their wet wax as my drying agent after washing at home. Do you think that would be suitable to apply after going through the car wash? Thanks again for the great content!

Does carpro reload works as a topper too
7:19 ouch! Good thing you were wearing protection!🤪
Cheap price for what you get. I wish we had the touch less system in Australia.
Is there a way we could find out the ph levels used on the chemicals in car wash? I know most of the gas stations do soapy wash and then tri colour treatment and then clear coat or wax being applied. Won’t these damage the clear coat instantly ? Love your content! Keep up the great work

The only touchless washes available to me are the LaserWash - the problems I have are: a) often no ability to select a wash that does not apply any waxes, b) spotless rinse is low pressure - needs to be high pressure, IMHO, c) runs of detergent fluid will seep out of gaps, and if not removed before they dry, they can leave a very difficult to remove residue, sometimes requiring an abrasive to remove, d) if there is a dryer at all, it's not good enough. They really need to improve the rinsing and drying part of the process IMHO.

I'm scared to directly touch the paint with a towel without going through a proper contact wash first. Usually I rinse like that then do a rinseless wash at home. But I might go to a car wash like this instead, atm was going to the DIY ones, bring my wheel brush and product but gotta say it's a PITA.
Did you ever make a video about washing your car yourself in a self service bay? I bring my own bucket and sponge and don’t use the brush. But I’d like to see if you have any tips or tricks I’m unaware of. I’m getting my car ceramic coated soon and researching maintenance

It should be fine as long as its not hot water on the glass. Glass gets rained on in negative temps and doesnt crack. Thanks for watching!

What do you do when your drying towels stop absorbing from using drying aids like ceramic detailers bead maker , owners pride ceramic detailer etc ?

Try soaking it in white vinegar for a bit then wash it with your normal microfiber wash detergent. No perfumes, no dyes detergent (like all free & clear), warm water, no/low heat to dry or air dry.

@@alfredol-montalvo6255 agreed. Might have to do it a few times before they come back to life. Best thing to do ideally is if you use ceramic shampoo detailers etc at home have a bucket with diluted apc so as you work on the car you dump used towels in the apc solution so the ceramic doesn't dry/cure to avoid the problem altogether. Then wash towels mitts as usual...

Can Topper be used in direct sunlight?

Short answer is no. Suppose it depends on time of day, humidity, wind, etc but they say to NOT let it dry before removal so that may be tough in full sun and hot body panels

Nothing beats a great carnauba wax for depth of gloss. Ceramic is shiny...carnauba is rich, deep. I have a classic Jaguar and I would never use a ceramic of any type on it. If you get a paste wax don't get a "cleaner wax" or "wax with cleaner"...I do use a ceramic spray on our newer car. In fact after watching Chelsea's great videos on the Turtle Wax products I am going to stop using The Last Coat and go with that knew TW Graphene...even though I can't believe graphene is that much different or better than a ceramic spray. Correct me if I'm wrong Chelsea!

@@robertct06 just dont wipe the car with a cloth until it's covered in a lubricant. Touchless wash soap has microabrasives in it that help blast the grime off, and it doesn't damage anything normally, but if you take a towel and wipe a panel with that water on it, you'll drag those abrasives across the paint and give it microscratches
