SEGA need to make a Sonic Heroes 2. Regardless of the reception the 1st game had, you have to admit it was charming.

The main issue with that idea is that a significant percentage of Sonic's fanbase these days are too young to have played Heroes when it came out, and unlike the Adventure games, Heroes hasn't been ported to modern systems in any capacity so it's not like they can even go on Steam and play it like the can with Adventure. So, Sega isn't going to make a direct sequel to a game that their target demographic have never played. Now, if they put out a 3D Sonic game collection (like Sonic Origins but for 3D games) that includes Heroes, so younger audiences can actually play the game, then maybe a Heroes 2 would be viable.

A lot of the glitchy tricks with Sonic in this game are cool because apart from the ones that involve clipping and no collision, they look like Sonic is just going really fast and the camera can't quite keep up. Fits the character.

Now this is one that’s caught my interest. Was my first sonic game and I loved the team mechanic, so much potential for more teams. Does a great job of having a bunch of playable characters and keeping the sonic feel near always present cos you can always switch to him. The sonic boom games surprisingly do that really well too

This was one of the reasons I loved Sonic Heroes' slippery and janky physics. I used to skip bits of a stage using some of these Sonic tricks, but I never knew about the Light Speed with Accel Cancel combo, wow!

Has this been tried with the other teams? like how many team Chaotix levels can you beat with just Espio?

You're correct. He's using the word "alas" incorrectly. "Alas" is typically used in a negative connotation. What this speedrunner is doing defies the game's logic in many ways and is truly amazing, and I don't think using the word "alas" suffices here. In fact, it's completely contrary to what we see in the video, which is amazing execution and technique by a speedrunner. As always though, Nathaniel provides good-quality content, and this video is no exception.

I remember when I played this at launch and got Tails and Knuckles trapped by those UFO things in Frog Forest and beat the whole level with just Sonic, it was amazing beating it with only Sonic on screen, carefully timing my jumps and reminding me of a Classic Sonic level in Hero's gameplay.

As a kid I found out (in the tutorial stage since beating that without switching was a goal of mine back then) about that UABK thingy, obviously not the name or anything. My own personal challenge ended with Casino Park (although I don't remember knowing about that other trick, so I'm now doubting whether I did beat ocean palace or not) and that glass, I remember spending a whole afternoon (after school) just jumping and flopping and team attacking to no avail. Makes me happy to know it actually was possible now all these years down the track. Awesome video! Brought back so many memories!

So many feels right now! I can't even tell you how many hours I put in trying to get those Chaos Emeralds! Definitely one of my Favorites on the PS2!

I remember watching cq WiFi streaming this so that's cool that he's behind the scenes!

This wasn't only with Sonic. Because without Tails and Knuckles, you couldn't use Team Blast. :D Jokes aside, this was cool play.

I just remembered going invis as the rhino (I forgot his name, it’s been nearly a decade) and going leagues away from the other two and hearing their idle voice lines from across the map. Fun times.

Uhh, I-I mean you could take a memory card with some SH data on it, rig it up to a computer, rewrite some code, put the card back in and see the 100% complete game. Or copy memory from an already complete game

After being a fan of this game and Sonic in general for years, only now do I learn that in Sonic Heroes, outside of Bullet Station and Hang Castle, Sonic is essentially God.

I Like how you called it the ultimate afterburner kick. Like it's superior to the afterburner kick from Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2...

I remember playing this when I was a kid and getting hella stressed at it 😂

Kind of curious if this is possible with Amy and Espio as well. I'd say Shadow as well, but since he plays similar to Sonic, it should be a no-brainer.

Defo not since u need lightspeed mechanics on several sessions, which is a feature only available to Sonic.

So Mario uses the BLJ to build up speed to traverse through QPUs, and Sonic uses the ABK to build up the team blast meter. Is this what Sega meant by Blast Processing?

I can't even beat this game as an adult the cesino and rainforest levels just killed me. AND YOUR DOING THIS!! You have my respect good sir.

TheDragonaf1 I died hundreds of times on those stages before finally getting past them. But I still can’t beat Egg Fortress. It’s so frustrating.

I love this game. My favorite levels were actually Casino Park, and Bingo Highway, I guess the music and the lights entertained me as a kid. Bullet station and Mystic Mansion was where I would really rage quit.

Duuuuuuude hearing the music again after so many years is giving me chills

This video is such a nostalgia trip for me!

But what about the automatic transitions to Knuckles in Egg Fleet? Were they bypassed, or just not counted? Technically you can change formation back to Sonic before you hit the rails so that the change back is instantaneous, but the game does still put you in power formation for a time.

You do realise your gonna have to do rose with just amy Dark with just shadow And chaotix with just Epsio

Was just thinking that. In order to properly beat Sonic Heroes, you have to do all four teams, not just Sonic's. And you need all the Chaos Emeralds as well if you count Metal Overlord so.... yeah, you can't really beat the game with just Sonic.

If you bought the game without finishing SA1 or SA2 before (which taught you that there's a last story after beating the rest), you wouldn't know unless you completed the game 4 times and got all Chaos Emerslds or someone told you. The game just tells you to try another story, not that there is a final boss after doing what the game tells you to do.

You can actually hit the thing that you use with knuckles with a charge attack with sonic, the time when you charge the attack with the three characters, it only needs practice. Nice video btw!

I would love to see a version of this for all of the teams.
