Is It Possible-Sony 14mm 1.8 GM

Welcome back to another video.
In this week's video, I head onto the streets with one lens that lens is the Sony 14mm 1.8 GM.
Being such a wide focal length it's not the usual focal length of choice for street photography.
I'm always shooting at either 35mm or 50mm when it comes to my street photography, but hopefully, you'll see in today's video it's also possible to do street photography at those wider focal lengths.
Street photography can be taken at any focal length, you just have to find other ways of getting those shots.

A few weeks, maybe months, ago, you asked if any of your viewers were interested in you doing street photography. I think you might have been wondering about just doing landscape vlogs. I'd like to have my vote counted in the 'please do more street vlogs like this one' category! My wife and I both prefer your street vlogs! The images in this one are fabulous, and the tips very useful. We also noted that you seem a bit more animated in your street vlogs, and get the idea that it might be your favorite, as well. Whatever or whichever, well done, and thank you, Bri!

Hey Bri, love your street photography vids. My go to street set up is a 20mm lens on my Olympus EM10 MKII. I know that’s 40mm equivalent on a full frame but it allows me to be relatively “invisible”. I shoot a lot in your neck of the woods so maybe one day our paths will cross. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Thanks, Bri. I love your Vancouver street photography. I must say I'm super impressed at how litter and graffiti free the city is. I don't think you could find a location in my adopted city, Melbourne Au, that is so spotless as these street shots. Keep 'em coming mate - street and/or landscape.

Excellent set of photos. The wide angle puts subjects in their environment, something that is often missing in street photography How lucky was that getting the bride in that shot, and it works quite nicely 🙂

Quite right Trevor, it’s nice being able to get a different perspective on the streets shooting at such a wide focal length, also being able to be more creative at the same time. 😊👍

Great video and photographs Brian. I always struggle with wider focal length in streetphotography, I normally shoot around 25mm on my MFT-camera (50mm equivalent) and try to focus on people, not so much on the environment. I definitely have to try again after watching this video.

Great images Brian. The super wide angle effect is well disguised by your framing. It's a good job you're not like Thomas Heaton, he'd have had kittens with all those people walking behind him while doing a piece to camera :-). Presumably you don't have issues with being told by security or building owners that you can't take pictures which are either taken on 'their' land and/or including 'their' building? Thanks again. Take care and keep safe.

I often go in the city with one camera and one Lens, depending on my mood I choose either a wide angle Lens or a short tele Lens, it could be 14mm, 21mm, 24mm, 35mm, 55mm, 65mm, 85mm, 110mm or 135mm, most often 35, 55mm or 65mm, but the 14, 21 and 24mm is also nearly as often used, the 110mm and 135mm is rarely used. I also often take two cameras, oe camera with a wide angle and the other camera with a short tele Lens.

Bri, great video, I can identify with many of the locations in Vancouver. Like your street photography with the wide angle lens. Really impressed with the high contrast B&W, especially the shot through 'the square window' ... adds so much to the image. Are you post-processing all of these B&W images in Lightroom?

You have to be almost in smelling distance to the subject with 14mm on full frame xD even with crop sensor. I never go less than 50mm in street photography.
