Unlike trump, Biden has spoken publicly multiple times since the trump-friendly debate. My mom lived several years with Alzheimer's dementia, and I worked in the psych field for over 30 years. I detect no signs of dementia in President Biden. He has a slowing down, an age appropriate amount of cognitive decline, but that's a far cry from incapacitation. Conversely, take a real look at even the young brain of donald trump. Then, look at the damaged brain of this aged narcissist, trump. Couple that with trump's and magat's Project 2025. Why is this even under discussion? Where is there an actual competition between the elder statesman, Joseph Biden and the Adderall-addled, demented donald trump?????

This whole nonsense drama has done WAY more damage to Biden's credibility than his mediocre debate performance did.

I say keep Biden on the top of the ticket and start sending Kamala out more on attack. It should be a team effort at this point. It would assuage fears about his health and ability if people see her stepping up without stepping on him.

Call me cynical but I don't think he is "loyal." I think he is weak. Or a sell out. Or afraid of retaliation. He just doesn't want to be blamed if Trump wins. Or this is part of some cynical strategy.

@@lhoward9593Fwiw, Bernie and AOC are just being pragmatic, pushing people around in real life isnt ike in a video game, IRL people can hold secret grudges and undermine you later on when you want to do something. Idealism unfortunately doesnt necessarily work well in DC, you need a critical mass of progressives like AOC to make hard demands because you have enough votes on your side then.

What is damaging is these people saying awful things about Biden. We accept he is flawed but thst he is capable of running the country. Right now all this quabbling is giving the Republicans a gift!

Could the mixed messages actually be a ruse to put Trump's campaign off balance? Trump, not knowing who he really might be running against, will increase his anxiety. Therefore, more crazy, authoritarian rallies.

No, its not over. I'll vote for the democratic nominee, and it appears to me Harris the best option. I am so freaking tired of having to cringe every time I see Biden speak, culminating in the debate that clearly shows his decline. That decline was new information to me, but it supported concerns I already had, and that is how I am making my decision. Biden's been a good president, but he is obviously declining. That is not fair to the America. We the people should be able to decide based on this critically important, NEW information we now have. Not Biden or his talks with the Almighty. Please people, be honest with what your eyes see.
