Is it menopause?

While menopause is normal, our symptoms are unique to each of us in terms of what we’re experiencing, and the severity & that we experience them for. Taking time to jot down your symptoms and not only what you’re feeling, but how you’re feeling is important so that you can bring these notes to your next Dr appointment.
Remember hormonal changes can lead to a variety of physical and emotional symptoms, including anxiety and heart palpitations, feeling disconnected from yourself or others, or just not feeling as grounded.
Anxiety is a common symptom of menopause, as fluctuating hormone levels can affect neurotransmitters in the brain that regulate mood and emotions. This can lead to feelings of worry, nervousness, and unease. Additionally, the physical symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances, can also contribute to feelings of anxiety. And as we know or may have experienced anxiety can lead to heart palpitations and the palpitations may cause more anxiety. 😟
Heart palpitations, or a feeling of fluttering or pounding in the chest, can also be a symptom of menopause. Hormonal changes can affect the autonomic nervous system, which controls heart rate and rhythm, leading to palpitations. Stress and anxiety can also trigger palpitations in menopausal women.
If you are experiencing anxiety and heart palpitations related to menopause, it is important to talk to your doctor. They can help determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and recommend appropriate treatment options. This may include lifestyle changes, such as stress management techniques, regular exercise, hormone therapy, or other medications to help alleviate symptoms. Counseling or therapy may also be beneficial in managing anxiety related to menopause.
