IS IT JUNK OR A JEM? 1994 FORD L9000 AEROMAX DAY CAB CAT DIESEL TANDEM

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

IN THIS VIDEO WE PICK UP A TRUCK THAT I LOOKED AT A FEW WEEKS AGO. IT STARTED AND RAN WELL BUT AS MOST "L" SERIES TRUCKS, IT HAD SOME SERIOUS RUST ISSUES IN THE CAB. FIGURED IT WAS WORTH PICKING UP FOR PARTS. HOPE YOU ENJOY!

Love the Ford L Series. Have a 1993 L9000 with a 36” sleeper has 3406 B 425hp and a 13 speed as my welding rig. Have 4 other L series trucks as well. Cant go wrong with them.

I always loved the room inside a L9000. That one is solid enough to take a little time checking for another cab. Nice find. I wasn’t expecting that shift pattern, I was waiting for the last two swapped with the big hole against the dash ,,,, being an overdrive.

I was assigned a ‘95 Aeromax 9000 when it was new and I loved it! Cummins 300, 10 speed roadranger, Hendrickson rear and Jake. Visibility and turning radius was the best of any truck I drove.

The First truck I started driving around 10 years old was a '75 Ford L700 with a 427 Propane Engine. It was a 5 speed with a 2 speed rear end and to this day no cab or dash quite gets me excited like the ones in these model trucks! Only got rid of it in 2000 after the frame raile behind the cab cracked and it wouldn't pass inspection anymore. Sold it for farm use only and bought a freightliner FL70

That Fuller transmission shift pattern must've been designed to prevent impaired drivers from getting very far. That or maybe as a theft deterrent. Looks like a pretty decent find though.

Wow, what a find. The Ford Aeromax is a great find. I know you'll do the right thing that fits your plans but with good bones like that, I would think about re-cabbing it and selling it complete. That could still be a good local tractor in the right operation. It'll be interesting to see what you do with it. You're a master of your craft with trucks. Keep us posted please.

I drove a '96 t600 with one of those goofy 9 speeds for a while....took a bit to get used to it but it wasn't bad....gives you an extra gear up top before you gotta drop to the low side ! I had an ‘87 LTL9000 with a Cummins L-10 and a 9 speed. I put a dump body on it. It was originally a road tractor. The axles should have been farther back, too much weight in the box the front end would get light. It did ok for what is was, but that L10 lacked serious power. Pulling hills I’d be down the 4th gear & 30 mph.
