I'd recommend for silicone eartips for the xm5 and linkbuds, is the azla max asmr. As it has a silicone mesh and it provides basically the same noise cancelling performance as foam tips due to the thicker design of them.

In conclusion, buy the LinkBuds S with shape memory tips to have almost the same quality of ANC as the Xm5/Xm4, better microphone in phone call than the XM4, and also almost the same sound 🔊 quality, since the shape memory tips will improve the sub-bass and treble.

@@Archasro If you want something really complete, quite good and cheap, OnePlus Buds 3, something really good in the $150-200 range, Huawei Freebuds Pro 3, the Jabra Elite 10 / 8 Pro are also very good, the most complete on the market right now are the Technics AZ80.

I tried XM5 and Linkbud S, finally I bought LinkBud S, coz its really comfortable, but XM5 isn't. Also LinkBud S sound quality is good enough for me and my wife too. If XM5 can reduce the size as same as to LinkBud S, I would buy two.

I use the linkbuds s since one year nearly every day. I love everything about them. But the find my buds function would be so great. I lost them already two times for several weeks in my own house (Fell under a table and stayed in shorts which came back in to the closet). Now I have a case for them and a attached an AirTag so that I can find them. But now they are not that small anymore. Still better than losing them.

im on my second set of linkbuds s.. they have great sound and comfort.. the sound signature out of the box is just what i like.. sadly the first pair developed terrible wind sound on one side if anc or hear'thru are enabled.. i think the mic had been damaged somehow.. just be careful not to get it moisture damaged or it might also have the same problem

@@zonexslayer i mean got the xm5s now along with dozens other earbuds but they are great. I love them for podcast not really for music because the bass decreases at loud volumes around 70% but still has more sub bass than the xm5s. Ultimately I switch between different earbuds on a daily bases but my overall best one I can recommend are the OnePlus buds pro 2, they have they strongest sub bass and are very comfortable. I use them everyday for working out which I wouldn't even dare use any Sony's

Also I somehow managed to find the Linkbuds S for what would be equivalent to like $90 which is insane so I'm probably gonna go for that. Edit: Just gave checked out technics Az80 and they're a bit too pricy for me, don't want to push far past $200

Amazon has a deal on Linkbuds s right now. I'm a Samsung guy myself bud the buds2 pro didn't fit me correctly. The Linkbuds are outstanding and sound better than the Samsung IMO

I had the AZ80, buds 2 pro and the xm4. I have really big ears and the AZ80 just fit the best due to their special shape. Soundquality was the best on them too. Buds 2 pro were just to small.

Foam tips are best for the XM5s, if you can stay patient. Memory foam adapts and the seal is insane. Couldn't make the XM4 tips work, they hurt. XM5 tips are great

Thanks! That's a tough one the 75t tuning was pretty unqiue. OnePlus Buds Pro 2 once you EQ them are the closest though. Sennheiser momentum 3 as well

XM4 are better as long as they fit you well

The only thing that XM4 users concerning about is if Sony have do something to prevent the battery draining problem yet. I have XM4 for 2 years and a half and I have to send it to the Sony Service center every year to replace the battery

The xm5s case is actually smaller the airpods. When your talking about total space taken up. I think its the first flagship earbud to be smaller than the airpods.

Do you recommend the Spinfit W1 on the buds?

You don't have time to squeeze the foam eartip , but guy , sorry to hit on you , but foam eartips are design to be squeezed and then fit into the ear canal , but in case you are so into this try Earbond or Symbio eartips instead

Isn't a little bit bad, testing this earbuds with a phone that came out in 2019(Android samsung s10) without bluetooth 5.3 and LE? And speak about latency? Great video you explain everything very good 👍, I beat the latency would be different with a s23ultra for example.

i have a xm4. today exactly 2 years now. i have a problem with the left one. the battery is empthy in 1 hour. it is empthy 2.5 times faster emtpy than the right. i use them about 15 hours per week. is this possible? what is the life span of the battery? are they geting old?

Known issue, lots of one star ratings on Amazon because of that. My left one only lasts 40 minutes after 23 months of purchase, right one still has 66% of battery at that point. Think I'm not gonna buy a Sony headphone with such a bad battery again. There are rumors that this issue is caused by a firmware update and Sony might replace them even outside of warranty, depending on your luck. I sent mine in via Amazon warranty but haven't heard of they're gonna replace them, just crossing fingers.

They work fine but you can’t use LDAC hi res on iPhone. They still sound great on IOS though LDAC only slightly improves the sound

My brother who's an engineer in an earbuds company says your latency measurements are far from correct, and newer good earbuds are below 100 ms. Im sure there is an explanation. What is your method of testing? Do you run sound thruu a lot of heavy dsp? Cheers!

My test is not super accurate. I film at 60fps then playback at 40% speed, count the frames between the gunshot and the sound. Then it's the frames divided by 60 x 40%. The lowest Iv'e tested is around 140ms with aptx adaptive. I think LE or LC3 can get below 100ms.

I guess all apps for sound including the app for the earbuds should be disabled to compare. Well I dont have better suggestions. Now I have your attention, I will express my opinion about control from earbuds. I feel it shouldnt be considered in evaluation, since the less features the better for most users. You are used to juggle earbuds, bud many of us dont need or use the different tapping, but often tap something by accident stopping us from enjoying the music😄

I had the same problem while running. If you run with XM4s turn off ANC and abient modes (go to "OFF" options) and you won't hear any sound each time your foot hits the ground 😉

Many are having issues with XM4 due to a glitch in the update that kills the battery life. From my experience, I am happy to say XM4 is really awesome and of the the powerful earphones out there in the market, even though it is from 2021, still rocking on. The only way to save your battery from the horrible software update is to uninstall the Sony's "headphones" companion app, once you have paired and configured the XM4 with your phone/device. That's how I saved my XM4 from the update glitch. Hope it helps. Thank you ❤ 😊

And hopfully, the XM5's dont have that pesky battery drain issue the earlier XM4's have... like mine >:(

I'm going to have to move away from sony earbuds altogether though they're great. I have the linkbuds s. The battery after about a year or so has gone garbage. Right earbud only lasts 1 hour max while the left earbuds battery is completely fine.

Ive had my linkbuds S for a while now, have you noticed a clicking sound in one or both while you walk?

Yeah nothing beats AirPods 2 for general content and podcasts. Also the ambient mode is perfect. I use the AirPods Pro 2 and between 3ANC. 3ANC for movies and music….also I tried it with a Bluetooth transmitter on my ps5 and it was excellent lol. Maybe not for competitive games though. Creative bt-w4 or w5 is what I’d recommend if you want to use your tws on ps5/pc/switch

I got mine for ₹11K which is about 130$. LinkBuds S is worth the price.

I purchased the xm4 and linkbuds s to get a true comparison. The xm4 were so poorly designed to fit the ear + weight difference, links were easily the winner. The only difference I felt for ANC was the foam tips. Ordered some on Amazon and there is almost no difference besides less ear fatigue. They use the same tips for anyone wondering. I'll get some xm5s and check difference

I've had the Linkbuds S for a year or so. I love how light and comfortable they are, but I have had to get them refunded twice due to the build quality. I take good care of them, but use them daily all day. I have weird connectivity often and issues with the mesh, and have to frequently adjust things about it to keep good sound. I have tiny ears, so I'm hoping when I try the XM5s that my spinfit earbud tip replacements will work well enough to be more similar to the linkbuds s fit
