No worries, although most authentication things carry over regardless of year - there are nuances here and there that change over time. I focus on a few "pre-2010" ones, but don't really mention anything post-2010. They changed the tag writing for the "made in italy" in 2011-ish on the underside from all lower case, to all upper case. :) So you're fine on that part. Thanks for watching!

I just purchased a bag The leather tag does have numbers on the top just underneath. Top reads balenciaga Paris underneath reads the long number plus made in Italy in all caps with something else under Does that sound right

Hi I just purchased a used balenciaga purse and my concern was were the handles are attached is a different hardware and not the smoothe round split circular hardwear that stitched to the handles is mine a possible fake. The bag I purchased is a pony hair weekender.

Yes, I've heard of the Sunday tote - but never have owned one. I believe it was released around 2010, but was discontinued after a few seasons? (I don't think they make it anymore?? I don't ever see them, and I think a number of those styles that were released in 2010 didn't sell like they wanted, so they discontinued them to release other styles.) It reminds me of the Shopper Tote from 2006-ish. Great catchall tote if you're wanting a big open tote style like that. I think Yoogi's has one. GL!

I know this video is quite old, but it's very helpful to identify a authentic Balenciaga bag!! :) I just have one very urgent question where I haven't found any information out there: is it a must that it is ALWAYS a black thread on the upper stitch of the silver tag of the Balenciaga city RH?? I just try to authenticate a Balenciaga City from 2013 and the stitching is not black, but I'm quite sure the bag is authentic. Would be great if you could help me! :)

Excellent video, so helpful! I have the same question about the black thread. I’m quite sure (I think) my bag is authentic, passes all the other notable tests to note, but it is not a black thread attaching the tag. Is it possible the stitching can not be black and still be an authentic Balenciaga? Many thanks again!

I'm very late but this video is very helpful. I'm wondering if the words "made in italy" have to always be lower case? I ordered a Classic City bag from Overstock.com and the picture from the website show those words in all upper case. I'm nervous now.

Newer styles will not the be the same, this is all information pertinent to the older styles. Pre-2010 to 2012 era. I think around 2013 or so, all of the tags changed. You're good! ;)

Thank you so much for your response! I actually went to the Balenciaga store near me and you're right, all the new bags say "Made in Italy" in upper case letters now. Their zippers also say "B" instead of "Lampo." Funny thing though, the sale associates had no idea what Lampo was when I asked about changes in zippers and other things. LOL.
