Joe public would have no idea what a Grenadier is. Most knowledgeable car people would say it’s a MB G-Wagon. I love that it uses an old school ignition key, has a sewing machine smooth inline 6 motor and is built like a tank. That door shut “thud” was very satisfying. It well remains elusive in the US due to the $73k + selling price. I can see this being a 250,000 mile vehicle before any major service is required.

I test drove a Grenadier about a month ago here in Houston, but did not buy. It is a fun vehicle and a wonderful first effort. My opinion for what it is worth: It need to be lifted. I think it sits way to low. The center console screen seems wholly inadequate to be responsible for everything. Way too small and I did not like looking over at it to see where my speed was. I would have rather had zero screen, a normal dash with all analog gauges and an old school radio. That may seem crazy, but people love simplicity. Look at everyone’s love affair with the Land Cruiser 70’s series. Basic and reliable. I could live with the small screen in the center and not having a normal gauge cluster if they had given us a heads up display. (That may have been a challenge with the angle of the windshield.) I have a heads up display in my truck and I look at that more than my gauges below. I did not notice any crazy or abnormal beeping from lane issues that were discussed with the video, but maybe I didn’t stray much that day. There are definitely blind spots in this vehicle, but I would forgive those and these days with lane change warnings it isn’t a huge deal. Power seemed fine when driving. Drivers coming from Land Rover will love the quirks and forgive things that break on this vehicle. Toyota owners may convert to Enos after they prove themselves. See you in 300k miles……I hope.

Great review. Very in depth and interesting to hear the owners honest feedback and it seems like a solid choice. Four concerns I would have in no particular order: 1) price of admission is really expensive. 2) warranty/dealer support/recalls. It’s never perfect, but flat bedding a dead vehicle for hundreds of miles isn’t appealing and gets complicated and expensive quickly 3) Proven longevity. First model year is always risky, even for a refresh model 4) Fuel efficiency. 12-19 mpg (without towing) as a daily driver would be costly for most, going on an over landing trip would require careful planning with extra fuel requirements. Best advice and thoughts; drive it and enjoy it. It would be interesting to hear back from the owner 6 months from now.

My response from someone who owns one in my family... 1. Starting at $72k, it's not horrible. It's way less than an imported and modified defender or new Gwagon. Anything decent these days will start at 55k. Look at the new land cruiser. Starts mid 50s but we know it will be marked up. Heck even new broncos in dallas at the dealership start at 65k, at least the ones in the front of the dealership. They even had one with options priced at 80k. 2. Yeah that sucks, but should improve. 3. My dad bought one, and he's concerned but absolutely loves it. 4. No worse than an G Wagon.

I'm with you on this one...for the price, MPGs, support, performance, and unknown potential reliability...there's no way I'd buy this over the new Land Cruiser: better MPGs, better support, much less expensive, Toyota reliability (still a 1st gen here, so somewhat unknown, but still far less concerned), the iForce Max is so much more potent as well. Some ppl call out the solid front axle as being "the thing" for the Ineos, but unless it's a dedicated technical rock crawling machine, there is no real benefit here (IFS will be miles better on paved, dirt, washboard, baja type roads) + you'd really need a large lift and bigger tires to get any flex benefit (and you'd absolutely be cutting into those wheel wells for this).

Excellent video and top-notch presentation! Your new Grenadier owner (Adam?), reveals himself as a Land Rover owner of the old school. Those folks, literally every single one of them, men and women alike, that I knew back in the 1960's and into the mid-1980's, were well schooled in what Land Rovers (i.e. the Series vehicles pre-Defender nameplate) in why they purchased, owned and drove Land Rovers rather than ANY other vehicle from ANY other manufacturer. I suspect most "Land Rover Defender" buyers in this day and age in the United States make their purchases because of the curb appeal and status the vehicle and its historical image brings with it. "Adam" appears to have considerable product knowledge about not only Land Rover's products, but about the new Grenadier as well. Watching this video, listening carefully to what Adam and Tommy had to say, makes me thankful my wife threw cold water on my out of control desire to purchase a new 2023 left-over Jeep Gladiator. My wife, Debbie, is an accountant. She's heard mention to the "new Grenadier" for the last several years. What she has not yet heard from me is that Ineos will soon have a pickup version of the Grenadier for sale on the U.S. market! I'll admit to a long-term prejudice against all-things BMW. This goes back to the 1960's and Max Hoffman. Said prejudice goes back to the Rover 2000TC vs the BMW 2002. Bias and prejudice is very bad; it can last for decades. Until today, and this video, I was not about to seriously consider a Grenadier just because of its BMW engine. Thank you, Tommy, TFL, and Adam for bringing me into the 21st Century! Agree with diesel if it were to come. An interesting point though is my JK with 38” tires and 4.5” lift gets the same gas mileage… I average 14-16 mpg on mixed city/highway.

This thing is awesome. All the offroader anybody would ever need. I love the looks, the overhead switch gear is so cool. Simple overhead pop-open windows, inline 6... Two things that are terrible is the Euro-sedan shifter (seriously, wtf) and the lack of gauges over the steering wheel. So dumb to have the most utility utility ever and then no gauges. This really has to stop. My gauge cluster shows everything and is right there all the time. No digging around in a screen out of my line of sight for my transmission temp. So ridiculous. Besides those two things, you bet I'd keep it for 10 years too. Looks super fun to drive. 86 grand is not bad against the current prices of stuff. It sucks, but that's the price of nice trucks now.

On the fence between the Ineos and the Lexus GX550 Overtrail. Price wise the Ineos is more and after watching Brad at his Trail Recon channel and getting stuck on some familiar trails in the Ineos and having to engage lockers I’m again leaning towards the Lexus GX550 Overtrail. I think I would say buying an Ineos with the rough pack is a must for any off-roading that I’d be doing. Hopefully there will be a GX550 vs Grenadier soon. Great commentaryand testing from both the channel and the Ineos owner. Appreciate it very much

I'm really excited about this rig, but I saw in the Trail Recon review the truck really struggled when the rear right tire didn't have good traction. The conclusion was engaging the losers was a must for big ruts. Also sway bar dissconnect is a missing feature.

I drove by our Ineos dealer here in Canada last week and saw them in stock, on the ground and in the showroom. But, they were closed for the Holidays. I look forward to sitting in one next week. I am sure this company will last. It is owned by Billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in the UK, and Ineos earned $55 Billion in 2022, so I'm certain that they are on solid ground. This is a real automobile company.

Ineos’s biggest problem is that you can’t run a successful automotive car company with just one vehicle type, in three different forms. Tesla has several different types of cars and a ute???? Land Rover has Defender , Discovery, and Range Rover with numerous adaptations, sports, velar, equoue, etc etc. Ineos with just three basic models ain’t gonna survive!!! Gr8 video!!! I use it on all my vehicles, not just windshield but surround. Most use it either to re-enforce windshields or if they have high target vehicles all around. Best Security film you can buy & comes in Ceramic tints as well. 👍
