Next time you visit try Northern Iloilo esp. Concepcion, Carles and Isla Gigantes , Sicogon Island.

I’ve been to Iloilo City 5 times. The people there (Ilonggos) are so kind, friendly and easy to go along with.

Everyday there are sweepers everywhere on the streets early in the morning before the sun rises that's why Iloilo City was awarded as the Cleanest City in South East Asia or ASEAN. Thanks for visiting sir.

I spent the last weekend in Iloilo to celebrate my birthday. And the city is immaculate! Its so clean, doesn’t smell, great and kind people, awesome food, attractions are seemingly endless! Its modern and yet the culture is well preserved! My 4-day trip was not enough. I will go back for more!

Iloilo city has been awarded as the Clean tourist City, rank 8 in best airport. Rank 5th as the safest City and Dinagyang Festival has been choosen several times as the best Tourism Event in the country.. and lastly Iloilo ranked 4th in Human Development Index and the center of education in the visayas .

Been in Bacolod. And Bacolod need a lot work to do in terms of cleanliness. Kudos to Iloilo City Government for a great Job. It was awarded as one of the cleanest tourist city in SEA.

I like Iloilo City. I live in Mandurriao, conveniently located so easy to go to any point of the City. With present routes of aircon PUJ's. The Esplanade, the Aquino Ave, Gen Luna,.. the Megaworld, the highway to the Iloilo International Airport, the public plazas, The Fort San Pedro. Muelle Loney, fast craft port... the supermalls, these are truly the landmarks,.. distinctly Iloilo City... CLEANEST, INDEED.

I'm really glad you went back to the Philippines. I know you guys love to travel the world. It seems different when I watch your vlogs in the Philippines. It feels more fun and lots to do and discover new places in Philippines. The foods looks great and an array of choices.

Iloilo city right now had many upgrades starting this year after dinagyang the underground cable will start all the spaghetti wire remove and the two main market start renovation

I agree with you about Bacolod because I was there in August last year. Although it's a middle class society with grand ancestral houses, the city needs to be beautified above all, cleaned. There seems to be trikes everywhere too. Bacolod has promise but the local council needs to put their heads together to make it what it should be. Perhaps, you can keep repeating your desire to see Bacolod cleaned up and planned better by urban planners. Thanks!

Yup, I live in Negros Occidental and go to Bacolod City at least once a week. Been to Iloilo 3 times, and enjoyed it very much. Especially the nice restaurants in Smallville. The difference in Iloilo city and Bacolod City is the local government. You can tell which local government cares about it's cityscape. Bacolod City is the city of smiles, but it's very dirty and most buildings are unkept and not painted. Sad to say.

@@meljabasa2377 Good for you. I just think that people that own property or buildings should upkeep them and make the city much more pretty. I like and enjoy Bacolod City, but even the infastructure and traffic rules seem more enforced in Iloilo than in Bacolod City. To me it's just the way local government takes care of it's city

Yup kudos to street sweepers and cleaners and all. they've been cleaning and maintaining the city. Usually i see streets sweepers starting at 3 am in the morning.

Its not only the street sweepers and the cleaners is the reason why iloilo is clean its because of all the people of iloilo who are now discipline and cooperative in maintaining the cleanliness of the city.

Yes, nice to hear that the street cleaners do their job early in the morning. Any local government can do that also if they will. It could be very interesting and praiseworthy if I hear that my disciplined kababayan are the reasons why the city is kept clean. I mean that they know where to throw their garbage. Hope that is the case there. Tanx

Sana mga taga metro manila papuntahin dyan para kumita ng malaki ang iloilo city sa multa marami kasi dito sa metro manila mga salahula at balasubas pg dating sa disiplina sa pagtapon ng basura.kahit sa mga bayan bayan ng iloilo malinis.dyan dahil sa baryo nmin nong umuwi ako last year..bawal mg kalat at mag sunog ng basura..pd lang masunog pg mga dahon or mga patay na halaman lang..every week my kumukha ng basura sa baryo bawal mg tapon sa tabing ilog at dagat.bawal my tambak na basura sa harap ng bahay. kya buong iloilo malinis mula sa baryo town at lalo na sa city.mahigpit ang government pag dating sa cleanliness lalo na sa city .sana gayahin ng buong pilipinas ang iloilo..

The people in Iloilo City are very kind and a bit reserve but if you ask for help they are very much willing to assist you. Also people are highly educated, not surprising it churns out 30 thousand college graduates a year! the best nursing school and medical schools are located in Iloilo! relatively cheap food too and just a clean and laid back city!

I left 30 years ago the Ayala mall area was used to be a runway of the old airport. I was almost late trying to hop in the plane not knowing that's the last Plane to take off 😅

The old airport is not occupied by Ayala.. The Mall along the old runway is the Festive Walk Mall by Megaworld.

Not just the road that is clean our City Government is strict in protecting the River too. The SM you guys went to is SM Delgado and not SM City. Its much smaller than SM City which is in Manduriao. SM Delgado is oldest SM store in the Philippines outside Metro Manila.

Thanks for that information Yaj. I'm happy that the government played such an important role in keeping Iloilo City clean and also protecting it's river. I'm not a fan of government control but it seems like in this instance, it needed intervention to clean up the city in the public's best interest.
