TOMMY JOHANSSON.....Beautiful voice....he has great talent
Welcome to Tommy Johansson rabbit hole, there is a lot to discover. Like Amy said, he does all the work with his covers himself, he only gets help from his girlfriend with the camera sometimes. He plays guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, flute and accordion ( maybe more, but that's what we know). Besides being lead guitarist for Sabaton, he also has his own band Majestica, I really recommend their song Above The Sky. I also recommend his covers Phantom Of The Opera ( he sings both roles himself!), Basket Case (Green Day cover), Headless Cross (Black Sabbath) and many more. Great reaction, hope for more
That was a just a bit of our Tommy😂 A Swedish musical phenomenon. You just listen to him sing Phantom of the Opera BOTH parts. Others have mentioned he's a multi-instrumentalist. He is also an excellent music arranger and composer. For fun he has taken some lyrics from Sabaton songs and arranged them to Disney classics. It's a fun comparison to first listen to the original and then the Disneyton version. He's a friend of Floor Jansen as I guess you already been told she is married to the drummer of Sabaton and Tommy has arranged some of her solo music as well. With his band Majestica he has done several concept albums. A great one is A Christmas Carol were he took the lyrics from the Dickens original and then composed music, taking the foundations from classic carols that he transformed into metal masterpieces. He started learning guitar at age 9, when his father introduced him to the music of Gary Moore, who has become an idol for him and he has done some excellent covers of Gary too. The white guitar he used here is one of replicas of Gary's guitars that he owns. Guy is a serious guitaraholic. Earlier this year he said he owned over 30 guitars and we've seen him introduce several new ones to his audience since then.

My personal feeling is that metal is the greatest genre of all. The scope of what metal covers is vast.

It brings me joy to have shared that with you! Tommy plays every instrument and arranges all of the music for his covers (for his YT channel) and records layers of vocals for harmonies. Then makes a video...every Fri! Get yourself a man-bib and see Tommy Johansson's cover of You Raise Me Up (One Octave Challenge), orig by Josh Groban. Then maybe cover of Iron Maiden's Aces High, or AC/DC Thunderstruck... the list of drool worthy performances is long!

@TheWolffAndTheMelody One can only TRY to warn ppl...but its so satisfying to see ppl so shocked... brother, *everyone* is in love w Tommy...men, women, pets... my 87yr old mom, who watches whole Sabaton concerts just to see Tommy flip his hair... bless her heart...she'll bring me the tablet she doesn't know how to use and ask to " see Tommy and Chris in the pants". (That will make sense after seeing some live Sabaton...and, yes, dammit...I have the pants! They make me feel very battle-ready!)

Tommy is the genie in the bottle known as Sabaton. Once you let him out he will grant you many wishes in the form of music magic.
If you love this, his version of Phantom of the Opera will knock your socks off. So fitting, a duet done by one man and a song about split personality.
He sings also phantom of the opera, alone.

Malmsteen his the best guitarist in the world. Tommy Johansson is not far behind. But he sings lightyears better than Yngwie. Yes Tommy is unreal, he comes from the north of sweden and he is a wery nice person aswell. He's the best!

I love listening to Tommy Johansson's solo covers. When he's not busy with other projects, he tries to put out a cover song every Friday. He also has a Christmas album that is superb entitled "A Christmas Carol". And it sure beats many of the old Christmas carols out there. Tommy made some covers of his "hero", Gary Moore, that are absolutely superb. Typically, he uses his copy of Gary Moore's guitar when he plays those covers. I hope you will continue When it comes to Tommy I will always suggest “The light 20 year’s celebration “ a cover/re-recording of his own original song from his first Reinxeed album in 2008 (written when he was around 14-15) .. I find it remarkable .. his covers are really good but his own work are amazing 🤘 Fun fact: Tommy did the music for Floor Jansens covers of: Agape, frozen 2 and oblivion .. it’s handy to be able to play all the instruments and produce your own music from your apartment during a pandemic 😝)

I really think that if people are going to react to a cover, they should at least have heard the original - how else can you tell if it's a good cover or not?? Nonetheless, thanks for getting into Tommy J. Check out his KZread channel for more incredible covers; my favourites are probably his cover of Green Day's Basket Case, and You raise me Up - 1 octave higher challenge - your jaw will definitely hit the floor after that one!! When he first started I thought no way he can hit the highest notes in this song! He just did. I don't know how but yes he did and made it look easy! My jaw dropped as well!
As many have said he did Phanyom of the Opera (both parts). I would also recommend “I’ll See You In My Dreams”.
I found Tommy after Christmas singing 'Ave Maria'. It said it was an epic version so I listened to it. I could barely believe what I was hearing! His sense of humor shows in 'White Christmas'. A lot of special guests show up. ❤😊

I should not have taken time to watch even 1 more video today, but I noticed your reaction to "She's Gone", by Tommy and had to hear his version of this old classic which I loved when it first came out. I have only been following Tommy for maybe 5 weeks but I am his fan for life. So I clicked you on and you announced that you did not know the song or Tommy and I knew this would be SO much fun to witness. And boy was I right!! Welcome to the Outrageously Talented World of Tommy Johansson!! You and I are in for so many spectacular musical productions by this 37-yr.-old Swedish, MultiTalented Artist. I don't know what music you lean toward, but Tommy goes in every genre it seems. If you like dramatic, he has a killer version of the Phantom of the Opera.
