This is just about a year after the 2017 Singer show where he did SOS the first time under high publicity. He has a lot of range and tone qualities. Also, he was just 22 at the Singer competition, so he has been growing in to his lower range. Male singers don't really fill out their low range until about 30. He is tenacious about his voice development, so you can bet he won't waste the opportunity and will train it as it fills in.

This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts. Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh KZreadr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. The final run is 21.73 seconds on one breath. This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him. There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. You are very observant to the change on dimashs voice here. By the time he sang here he had had over 20 years of experience and education in vocals practicing 3 hrs a day vocals. This recording sounds pretapped but only a small portion of background vocals are prerecorded. The pianist wrote the song and their lead singer passed, but the pianist asked Dimash to sing it in honor for him. The throat singing is from dimashs culture as lamentation for those passed on but his culture isn’t the only one who uses it. Yes, Dimash changes as he adapts his voice to the building,venue, occasion, and song. Dimash has experience in Broadway stage production. You’ve approached your path to Dimashs journey properly. In the audience in the front row is Igor Krutoy, a billionaire producer composer and master of performance arts songwriter. He stands up for a standing ovation for dimash at the end when others did not. Somewhere around this performance igor offers to come out of retirement to collab with Dimash and mentor Dimash. They are both independent. But if you follow this path these two put out major productions. And, also Igor offered 5 of 10 of his songs to use. This was a big deal as songs are copyrighted.

The band called A Studio originally did this song. One of the members passed away and that 'yodeling' sounding part is a tribute to him. A Studio is backing him up for this performance.

Ya… it takes awhile to realize that what Dimash does breaks all the boundaries of accepted voice. He breaks them all. And as you watch them break you will be shocked and amazed. Once you realize his capabilities, then you can start being amazed by pure artistry. Seriously, it’s like this. If a master artist were to learn how to paint in 3D, his paintings would be unmatched just because of the technical abilities. That’s how Dimash is. His technical abilities put him in a class of his own. And don’t fight the emotions… just let them wash through you… we’ve all been there.
