I only have few friends but i realize i am better off alone especially being an introvert. Some people just disrupt your peace and they cause nothing but drama, confusion, and problems. I have proven it that being by yourself helps. I go to the movies, restaurants, read, listen music and walk by myself and it feels so good .It is very liberating and empowering.

A lot of people look at “friends” as contacts whom they can call on depending on the need and situation. At this point in my life I believe I don’t have the capacity to be a friend to many and I try to keep that reality upfront in my head so that I don’t mislead and lie to people or let them down unnecessarily. Stay well, Sam!😊😊😊

Great content...I've stopped making friends very early on in my life. I have 3 friends and those are the People that have been there for me through thick and thin. We normally don't spend much time together, maybe 1 week a year but always catch up via a phone call twice a month. I prefer not to have any new friends as it keeps my life simpler, also I like my peace to much.

Friends fucked me up as a kid. I was weak minded and easily influenced. Even if they have good intentions, sometimes there are bad things out there which are considered normal. I don't really have friends now, except my parents

Some of my newer friends sent me down a bad road, used me, and blamed me for everything. My few longer-term friends stood by me and built me up when I needed their support. Choose your friends wisely. They say a lot about YOU too.

Like you, I became super independante and also cautious with friendship with time.. I learned to do my own things and enjoy them without the need to follow or seek for any validation but mine. Finding your own freedom and your own confidence can be a long process but without any friend it's even more authentic because this is really you, and without any (sometimes heavy) influencesn and this is so liberating

This is a really good video. It's a subject that a lot of people don't want to consider due to societal pressure telling us it's basically "unhealthy" to be alone. Frankly, it's all kind of bullshit. You're the only one you can always depend on. Trying to maintain the nonsense in most relationships is a huge energy sink.

Wooo I'm always so glad to find out there's more people with a mentality like mine. "You're the only one you can always depend on", I agree. I only depend on myself and my actual family. Everyone else is fake, full of drama/bullshit, disingenuine, full of nonsense, and full of bagage thinking people are supposed to tolerate their bullshit and give unconditional love or forgiveness. 🤣 No thank you.

To me the operative word is Boundaries. Clear defined boundaries. I can do this much but that's it. It is not ok to drain my blood. People are imperfect and impermanent. For those who can deal with that go for it if you want.

If you play with a puppy it will lick you in the face. I leave people alone and I want to be left alone. It's way to risky to bare your heart and soul to another human. I kind of talk to people on the fly and even then I only speak about general things not my personal stuff.

When I was younger I almost desperately wanted to be accepted. Sad but true. But as I've gotten older, and *perpetually* single, I see those around me differently. Maybe I'm different, but I'm almost thankful the smaller my circle is today. Oh I have my former shipmates that I'd almost do anything for, even though many I haven't seen for 30 years. And some friends from college that are nice to hang out with once or twice a year. High School...meh...Not many. Being an extroverted introvert (yeah yeah contradiction in terms), I enjoy being around people...To a Point. But prefer to recharge and lost in my thoughts solo.
