Gambit's true powers.....when he taps into the kinetic energy....it could amplified his strength, agility, stamina, and endurance....thus protecting himself from his own explosion. He could also use that power to self-heal...AND! his powers could disable touch-based ability mutants....like Rogue. So, Rogue n Gambit are going to touch and find out. As for Magneto...he's not dead..Erg and Leech was with Magneto. Erg can absorb energy blast like Bishop and channel that power back through his eyes with an eye-patch if wanted too. Most likely, Erg absorb the last energy blast and Leech masked everyone's mutant powers to hide from Wild Sentinel's detection...that's IF Cable doesn't go back in time to change everything....see ya in 2 weeks with Episode 7 "Bright Eyes."

Bright Eyes is the name of episode 7? Sounds like Scott is gonna optic blast rage. In both cases, Gambit is dead. So he either gets revived by Apocalypse as one of his horsemen, or Cable goes back in time and prevents the massacre (more likely imo).

Cable rewriting the event will make the future worse (ala every attempt Bishop and him did in TAS), so I suspect Gambit still dies, but Apocalypse revives him as the Horsemen of Death to end the season on a cliffhanger. This will be the payoff for Rogue... not telling him she chose him til "Death" confronts her

That's my theory as well with Gambit. Death is just a revolving door in the X-Men universe so him and probably most of the deaths of important characters will be revived

Gambit has been my fave x-man for years, loved him and Rogue as a kid in animated series. Was super-excited he was in X-men '97, and then they kill him in 1st season UGH! They've done him dirty for so long in the live action stuff too I hate it. If they don't bring Gambit back and actually give him a good storyline with Rogue...I've pretty much lost interest in this show. So sick of him just getting ignored or sidelined in every live-action x-men thing the past 2 decades.

Gambit is my favorite character since 92. I like how all these guys finally have some spotlight. Please don't be dead

I mean, Cable was there literally minutes before. Which basically guarantees a time rewrite. They should've kept him out til at least the next episode if they wanted legitimate stakes (or at most, had an offscreen voice/premonition) With the hyper-focus on Rogue, Magneto, and Gambits dynamic (and the scene where she can't save Kurt because she was wearing the sleeveless gown with Magneto.) I'd imagine Cables involvement has her flip her decision so she's battle ready (and just a spitball, she can stop Gambit from sacrificing himself by taking his power and she can then kill the mega-sentinel and facetank it)

I'm so happy reading all this people that have Gambit as their favorite character like me. I always suffer because in most X-men media he gets used as a side character at most and a villain at worst (Evolution, Wolverine and the X-men, etc) so one never gets many Gambit episodes in general.

This event is also what killed Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the comics. Although she has a much smaller role in the comics than in the movies.

A thing people should account for is that Cable most of the time only appears in this X-men (even in the old seasons) show to prevent a past event that made Apocalypse strong in the future in some way. Considering how bad the currents events are, Cable is obviously trying to prevent all these bad things from happening so that Apocalypse can be greatly weakened in the future. We do not know how these events contributed to Apocalypse's rise to power but we may see how later once Cable enters his Main Character status stage of the story.

Gambit has been my favorite marvel character since i was a kid. I was waiting to see some kind of newer content with him since he was never in the MCU. When he got stabbed i just hit the lil Boosie " COME ON MAAANE!" 😢😅

When the xmen fought the adversary it killed them all, but Roma brought them back to life. While I do think time travel seems to be how they are building things up, I wouldn't discount the adversary storyline. the one thing this show has done so far is take stories we expected in different directions.

Or it could actually be Gambit, either revived as Death by Apocalypse, his New Sun power activating or both New Sun could manipulate kinetic energy on such a scale he destroyed his own earth and when Gambit tapped into those powers he could use kinetic energy to heal himself (so how he survives), negate skin based powers like Rogue (explains the touching him at the end) and travel through time (explains Cable being janked back to his time when he showed up

Cable's presence should've tipped everybody off that this will be undone eventually. It also seemed this wasn't his first try, but whatever time travel method he's using brings him there too late and then yanks him back after a minute or two. And then there's the fact that we saw the Watcher in the sky as well

It's going to be another pack episode with cable trying to rewrite what happened and with storm finding out the death of her teammates and what happened on the island, that's going to motivate her to get her powers back, so the next episode going to be jam-packed😊

People are so happy Gambit went out like a hero but I really dont think ill keep up with this show if he is actually gone. My hopes for this show was that with Gambits popularity he would be used more often but I have a feeling they are just going to overuse Wolverine again.

If you know the history of the parts that are being used, then you know that Remy and Magneto are still alive

Gambit’s my favorite X-men ever since I was a wee lad. Hate that they killed him. Hopefully, he miraculously returns.

If Cable travelling through time is used to prevent this then Rogue is either going with him to help or she's absorbing his memories of the event This whole thing was building up to her getting out of the triangle, picking Gambit and him sacrificing himself to save her, if she loses all memory of that with a rewrite then all character growth goes with it and wouldn't make sense. However, since the events clearly already originally happened and thats why Cable was there but something prevented him for staying causing him to get pulled away immediately unlike last time where we saw Cable view the events from his time before going back to change them it seems more likely the timetravel fix was basically tried this episode and failed. Magneto's body wasn't shown, so he most likely survived since all we got was a the Sentinel saying the mutant scan was gone, which is something Leech can accomplish with his powers too Gambit has 2 "resurrection" options from the comic that could be used. He can become Apocalypse Horseman Death or the limiter in his brain can be gone and he gains his New Sun level powers

At first, I thought Magneto and Gambit would be resurrected by time travel but now I'm thinking Magneto's death could be permanent and Gambit could be resurrected by Mister Sinister as they have history in the comics.

I think that were going to get an episode from Cables perspective and that by the end of the season he'll be back thanks to time travel. I also think that Rogue is going to be on this journey since she has an emotional connection to both Gambit and Magneto. I also think that there is go to be a future when the X-Men break up due to all the tension that happened in the house prior to the events where we have a darker Cyclops and Wolverine which is why cable came back to repair the damage.... ( Just my thoughts )

I’m guessing that they’re doing a “Days of Future Past” kind of thing where they do some time travel shenanigans and return to before the start of the show, with everyone including Professor X alive

This episode actually feels like they might be setting up New Sun Gambit showing up (the version with his full power that could manipulate kinetic energy on a planetary scale before Mr Sinister removed a piece of his brain to limit his powers because he was losing control) Cable shows up to warn them "He is coming" before getting ripped back to his own time. Seems he'd have used "It" to refer to the Sentinel showing up The "he" could actually be Gambit himself, either revived as Death by Apocalypse, his New Sun power activating or both (since New Sun was an alternate reality evil Gambit having his "Death" persona take over while having his New Sun level power would work as a way to introduce New Sun without the whole alternate reality story) New Sun could manipulate kinetic energy on such a scale he destroyed his own earth and when Gambit tapped into those powers he could use kinetic energy to heal himself (so how he survives), negate skin based powers like Rogue (explains the touching him at the end) and travel through time (explains Cable being janked back to his time when he showed up).

Problem with your and everyone’s theory is apocalypse, they’re not going to an apocalypse storyline

They shouldn’t have invited George R. R. Martin to write the episode.

One question i have is why Madelyne had to ask cable anything when she is a telepath. She could have read his mind in 2 secs and knew what was going on. I assume she must have died because we didnt see her help anyone which sucks because she would have definitely been helpful in saving everyone

I love the show so far but this episode is a mirror image of red wedding. My only concern with X-Men 97 is if the writers believe you have to kill off characters to be a great storyteller. I’ll commit to the rest of the season and see how it goes.

Cable didn't appear just for a bit of fan service. He will try again.

I think it's going to be a time rewrite - it HAS to be due to the amount of other characters who were killed. I also think Gambit is TOO popular to kill off permanently. I think they'll have us mourning a bit but ultimately bring him back in one way or another, probably as Death - and just like in the comic, despite being completely transformed and overwhelmed by a new persona and mission, he STILL knew he was Remy, and more importantly, he knew he loved Rogue and I think that grounded him from being consumed by it.

Been a Gambit fan since the 90s. Feel like I've been constantly screwed over since! No appearance in any of the XMen films (apart from the worst one, where he was badly written), Gambit film cancelled, very little appearance in Evolution and 'Wolverine and the XMen' then we finally get a new cartoon and he's 'killed' off in ep five. COME ON. I don't mind killing him off in an epic way IF it's at the very end of all the series, not halfway through the first. So he'd better come back or I riot.

i've been watching the latest episodes mostly wanting gambit to come back. I'd say I liked the first 4 episodes, but after gambit died I didn't pay close attention. It's cool seeing cable , and storm, and nightcrawler, but I want to see the full 90s status quo X-men of the Jim Lee Era. None of this BS like what happened to Star Wars as they killed Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia.

I mean, if somehow Gambit WERE 100%-definitely-dead-no-take-backsies, my interest in this show would admittedly drop a ton. XD He's certainly not the only reason I watch (Rogue has been my Best Girl since 1992), but if I'm being honest, I like fewer characters than I'm just sort of "meh" about (reason #1 why I could never get into the X-Men comics), so losing even one would put a huge damper on my enjoyment. In the original xmen cartoon mastermold had made sentinels made from polymers not metallic in nature and magneto could not manipulate them.

It would be a brave, and somewhat stupid move to perma kill gambit. One of the most popular x-men characters and half of one of Marvel's power couples. But this is Disney, and they're prone to stupid decisions.

Wonder if some how we get a Krakoa type story in the series and alot of the dead Mutants come back that way they already have the cloning story . Next episode i think will mostly focus on Storm getting back her powers . Then the 3 part story i thought was going to focus on the time Carmeon Hodge was running the show in Genosha now i'm not sure who the he is coming is now . I wonder if Cable going back up in the 3 part story arc but earlier then last episode and give the X MEN a heads up have to see but it seems team members are dropping like flies

I think sinister will pay a visit to genosha and collect the bodies of the mutants like he did morph

Waiting for the Days of Future Past story arc with Franklin Richards' ghost following Kitty Pryde;s mind to back in time as well. The Sentinels initially targeted the Fantastic Four since Franklin is an Omega level mutant and can alter reality while his parents&uncles have the potential to fight back against the Sentinels. In the future timeline, Franklin accidentally used his powers publicly and this got his family, the Fantastic Four as a primary target by the Sentinels. Franklin's ghost went to say goodbye to his spouse, Rachel Summers who after her capture in the future became a Hound but had escaped to the past which is the present. He made sure his past self has his powers contained and at least trained using his future self's memories&experience. This also meant that by giving his past self the method to mask his powers as he matures, he's changing the timeline&won't be able to return back and faded out of existence. IMO, future Franklin is actually still around as a forgotten memory/personality inside his younger self looking out for him behind the scenes since he can't go anywhere else. This amplifies past/current Franklin Richards' powers but it also contained and hid it.

Only thing I didn't like was Cable's voice, other wise it was awesome and Gambit was show as being cool as heck. Also.. Gambit beat it when no one else could, so he best Magneto in the end.

That would make perfect sense. Visions aren't always straight forward, just like prophecies are sometimes misread.

There was one version in the comics which had almost similar ending but with roles swapped,so when he was dying she used her power to stop the death and died instead that was way later after having a family ,they had two close to teenage children so✌️I find it very interesting you get so many tributary story lines of every character in xmen cartoons and comics✌️✅ there is one more extremely overlooked stuff about xmen universe and it's characters are you can hardly see them breaking down or creating a chaos in their losses,apparently they have a subtly way of knowing I got this with swag😎✌️they exactly don't use their mind all the time but they exactly were always in the real world so they saw what happened💥💥💥💥 I don't think the xmen universe would have been the Avengers of earth but they would have surpassed the Avengers in many battles ✌️

I feel like their deaths won’t stay permanent….. they are way too popular to stay dead and seeing how they are staying committed to the comics… like in the newer comics mutants can be resurrected I’m sure at some point some how something along those lines will be introduced unless they stick with the whole time travel theory to bring them back

One reason I really don't want Cable to "fix" things is that we'd then have two stories about a lot of people dying and then time travel being used to bring them back. I really hope they stay dead, or at the very least come back through other means. I haven't read the story about Gambit becoming the horseman of Death for Apocalypse, but that at least sounds really cool so I would be curious how it would work. As for Magneto, I just feel that he's too important to kill off this soon. However, I also think it could be interesting to have an X-Men show without either Professor X or Magneto. I think they could use that to get people used to a new team dynamic, which could then translate into live-action when the time comes. As much as I've loved both of the portrayals of both characters in the Fox movies, I'm not overly keen on seeing both come back immediately when the mutants are officially revealed in the MCU (apart from hints and multiverse shenanigans here and there). One of the main problems with the Fox movies (in my opinion) was that the characters we got there became so popular that they all had to be present in every movie. I don't really want to see the old gang again. I don't mind if they come back eventually but let some other characters get the limelight first so that they don't have to stand in the shadow of the constant "favorites".

I have a feeling Madelyn Pryor probably saving Magneto and the Morlocks from Big Sentinels and might Maybe Leech will Help heal Gambit
