Is First Class REALLY BETTER Than Business Class? What's the Difference? Seats, Lounges, Food, etc
I recently flew "Delta ONE International" which, for me, was like first class. However, I'm learning that actual "First Class" airline travel on lines like Etihad, Emirates, and others offer things like private chauffeurs, exclusive lounges, complete suites, and more! Don't book your business or first class ticket without watching this video first! #airtravel #firstclass #businessclass

My only experience with anything other than cattle class was when I was 21 and travelling solo to Peru via NZ and Argentina. I got to the stewardess at the plane door and she looked at me and asked if I knew what was up the stairs. I didn’t and she scribbled something on my boarding pass and said that I should go look. I don’t know if it was business or first but it was awesome! Sadly the second half from NZ to Argentina was back in cattle class 😔.

@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides 🤣🤣🤣🤣 very hard indeed.
I don't fly often, but when I do, I fly domestic first class. I try to book flights offering lie flat seats because I have issues with joint pain and some limitations in mobility. The seats are wider and there is more leg room. It is purely for comfort, not status.
I've been lucky enough to upgrade to first on US Airways (back in the day) and American Airlines. The perks of "free checked bags"; lunch and a few cocktails covered the extra upgrade fee for us, and it was very nice. I think our US Airways flight from Philadelphia to San Juan was the best. Hubby said I might have "had a little too much wine" on the flight. Thank goodness I had tucked an index card with the hotel info into his shirt pocket! :) (Oh, no commercial)
This was great Morgan. Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into this. Very very interesting. I had ONE flight home from Australia on Qantas First Class (from my points), the highlight for me, the huge washroom with hooks for your clothes, and then you had a "leisure suit" to change into for the flight. The food was so good, I swore there was a chef on board.
You crack me up! I wasn’t wondering about your new refrigerator. I was wondering who plays the piano. Great video today. 💕💕
Hey! Be nice to Morgan! He’s a good guy!!!!
I ❤ that you're wearing a Prince tee! Been a fan since 1978 with first single, Soft and Wet. Okay, I know this has nothing to do with your video. Thanks, always for your videos. Lookomg forward to more of your impressions of Oahu, and your Hawaiian cruise. ALOHA 🌺

Air France and Lufthansa also offer a real first class experience. Air France being one of the best in the world
For a number of Emirates lounges, DXB, LHR, JFK (that I know of) first and business class board the aerobridge directly from the lounge so you don’t have to see any economy class passengers at all! 🤣

Morgan, I thought the same when I read the comment! I decided to attribute the comment to not wanting us coach and business class folk to believe first class is fairly close to anything we've experienced. 😮😂
Delta has mostly "business class" these days internationally. I think to get the real First Class experience you need to fly non US based flights.
I was a Flight Attendant for TWA for many years and it was an amazing experience most of the time. 😂 it’s too bad it was sold to a corporate raider who sold it for spare parts. TWA is gone but its employees find ways to keep in touch.

I believe I originally heard this tip from you. If I get a reasonable offer I will sometimes use my points to upgrade. It is usually for only one leg of the journey. This gives me some of the perks including checked bag and priority boarding for the entire trip. I usually fly Delta. I travel a bit but not enough to get me to a status or to use my points for another flight so this gives me a chance to use those points and get some benefit from rewards program.
I would be excited to be upgraded to anything! Looks like a nice comfortable seat and experience
You did a fantastic job of this video . I laughed aloud a lot . I am with you in the back of the plane with my own sandwich lol
Great video, Captain Morgan! I often wondered about these differences. I have flown first class a couple of times: Twice I was upgraded by the airline and another I bought the ticket to treat myself; all three experiences were different and on different airlines, but none were considered to be luxurious as Qatar Airlines. The lounges were nothing to write home about it, but you were more isolated from the general public
The clip of “you” enjoying the massage in the Emirates lounge was hilarious. I had to rewind and rewatch. 😂

Great video! I’m a pilot in training and love everything aviation so I’d love to provide some insight as well. Typically from what I’ve noticed, First Class is really only on long haul international flights. - think Emirates, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, etc., or even an overseas American Airlines flight currently. Also, even if someone is at the front of the plane, if you’re in a two cabin short-haul/medium-haul flight, it’s usually Premium Economy (same seat with middle seat blocked off) or Business Class (large recliner seat). On long-haul international flights where there is both a Business & First cabin, Business is typically a large cabin with nice, pod shaped seats. Whereas First is going to be in a smaller, more intimate cabin with very large armchair style seats and like a room around you. There is an exception where some airlines have made their Business Class as nice as First Class, like Qatar Qsuites, but those are a small percentage of seats across any fleet overall. Hope this helped!

Nice shirt! Thanks for the video. Maybe one day I will save the coin to go first class. But I think I rather upgrade the rest of my vacation experience.
Good Evening Morgan. I usually fly economy as I am cheap and it pains me to pay 4 to 5 times the cost to fly in a more comfortable chair.

I have trouble with sinuses going haywire on flights. Having to take at least 3 sinus meds while having those special earplugs in makes flying miserable. Even if I wanted to spend the money, the flight would not be any better, even with a better seat. Guess it is the economy for me.
We recently flew United "first" class coming home from our last cruise (cruise was delayed getting back to Port by 4-5 hours, so we were going to miss our original flight). Because it was technically an international flight, USA to Canada, we did get lounge access, but the seat was barely larger than economy. And of course with a flight less than an hour, food service was just a slightly nice bag of snacks.
I too love the Prices t shirt! onya Morgan! I'll never get to fly first; business locally but we can't afford business O/S (Aussie here) 🙂
When we flew from Prague to Budapest the first class was in the back. It was odd.

Excellent overview of the distinctions between business and various forms of 1st class, something that has always confused me. I was wondering if the changes you've made (at the suggestion of KZread) have made any significant improvement in your numbers, even at this early stage? Although I think it's a pity that it is the more melodramatic or negative titles/thumbnails that allegedly draw viewers, I suppose you are providing a good opportunity to test their theory. Every time I watch one of your videos I am so glad I don't have to be the one coming up with a thumbnail & title as I suspect that would take me longer than the editing and narration the video itself. p.s. Nice 'fridge!!
In Dec 1976 my family went to the Bahamas. It was on a 747, and I was almost 6. The flight attendants took me upstairs to see the lounge. I couldn’t believe a plane could have two levels. Don’t think I’ve been on a similar plane since. Though I don’t fly a whole lot LOL
I never flown first class but I’ve heard showers are time limited and some do have a seat in the bathroom
No commercial for me this week.
Thanks Morgan, I am at a point where I am just starting to fly more to cruise ports to be able to get different experiences. This was helpful for me to decide to I really want to spend extra $300/$400 to get a better seat? Or more sometimes!

We flew "domestic" First Class from Anchorage, Alaska non- stop to Newark, New Jersey. United does NOT consider this a routine transcontinental flight. We were in the grey area between international and domestic. It was kind of weird.
Good video, Morgan. The only US carrier that still offers international first class is American, it’s only on the 777-300 (not the 777-200 which they operate a lot more) and they plan to phase it out in the coming years because it’s really not competitive with First on Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates, etc.
I’ll take as much whisking as I can get. 😂

Hmm haven’t flown that particular class before. ( fi “r” st class ) Interesting, do you think there’s a video available online? My last trip , the lounge experience for first class was horrendous in Amsterdam. Then once we hit the USA we didn’t get lounge cause it’s for international only first class, wtf. On international long flights I’ll bump to first for the free bags because the bag cost often covers the cost. It all depends on the cost difference and length of the flight.

Nope not an ad
I can see the door to seat service if you’re a well known person. But the average everyday wealthy person can basically travel incognito.
The rule of thumb is this. In America, flying domestically, the top class is called first class. Most of the rest of the world, flying domestically or throughout Europe is called business class. International flights, The tops classes flying international are normally Business (which is way better than US domestic first class and most of the rest of the world business) or First Class i.e. BA, Emirates, Qatar etc. Can be confusing. There are of course exceptions, but as a general rule of thumb I think this covers it. Not sure if I have confused myself now :)
Any kind of first-class, business class or even premier economy is better than cattle car, which is where you will find my seat.

No ad in the middle. RCL on end...I hate flying, so how much extra time do you have to spend in the airport to go to a spa. I am flying premium economy on Singapore Air Seattle to Bali Jan 25. Im looking forward to being able to elevate my legs and recline a few inches more. Im hoping I can manage to sleep for a change. We change planes in Singapore Changi airport. From everything I've understand it is a spectacular place.

American Airlines 5 Star service can bring you some of this as is their Transcon First Class, which offers a upgraded lounge, with private first class dining room. When I flew TAM GRU-EZE, the First Class ticket included round trip Mercedes airport transfers. The TAM Sao Palo First Class lounge, had Jonny Walker Blue Label, and Chavis 18. In both Buenos Aries (EZE) & Sao Palo (GRU) you were escorted off the plane and driven to a private custom's screening. Then escorted directly to a waiting car.
Trek trendy has a lot of videos about ultra Lux flying, I could be wrong, but I don’t think he was all that impressed with delta either
I worked for someone who posted things online with so many spelling errors. Others would mention it to me and I said nothing.. Before we parted ways I told him basic words he spelled wrong...he said, really? I didn't know that??

No ad. First class has always been out of my travel budget. Business class is way more than I think we will pay even for a transatlantic flight.
If I ever manage to fly to Australia or New Zealand, I'll try to afford first class, or whatever the highest class available is. I'll need it then. But aside from that, I go economy and pay for a seat that suits my needs best. I'd rather save on the flight to pay for more experiences when I land because like you, my budget is on the lower end. But if I had the opportunity, without having to break the bank? Yeah, I'd do it. I'm always surprised by some of the people who comment with such negativity. A little helpful nudge is fine if what one wants to do is inform someone. The judgmental attitude is just showing off how much one knows that others don't. Ick.
For my wife's 60th, we flew Delta One from St. Louis to Amsterdam (with one stop in Detroit), then the same in reverse when we came back. The plane we were on going TO Amsterdam was nice, but not the kind that you could shut the little door to your private cubicle...but it was still really nice and the seats laid down flat...and of course we got all of the additional schwag, food, and drink. On the way back, we were on a newer plane that DID have the little cubicles with the doors you could slide shut. Those were nicer, and I really enjoyed the flight...both flights were amazing though. On the way back from Amsterdam, I think our Purser quickly learned how long it took me to drink a drink because she'd magically show up with a fresh one just as I was wrapping up the previous one. I finally had to let her know that "this" drink would be my last because I could no longer feel my face. We're hoping to fly internationally again in the next one to two years and we'll definitely be going the Delta One route again. It does cost significantly more, but for a very special occasion (like celebrating a 60th birthday), we thought it was worth it for the experience.
I will never be able to afford a "Real First Class" flight. That is okay. I have flown Business on several airlines. They were all good except Cathay Pacific where I was really pissed off. The amount of "non behaving" toddlers where nobody seemed to care the slightest bit what they were doing during the flight was so awful. At that flight I wished to just have booked Eco.
