IS FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS WORTH THE WAIT?! Pro's and Con's of visiting the Festival of Lights in Utah
Ah, the Festival of Lights in Utah. It's a dazzling spectacle woven from millions of twinkling bulbs, stretching through Thanksgiving Point's gardens like a luminous wonderland. But before you brave the potential crowds and chilly November nights, let's weigh the pros and cons of venturing into this festive wonderland.
Pros:
A kaleidoscope of illumination: Prepare to be awestruck. Towering trees shimmer with cascading lights, elaborate tunnels pulsate with vibrant hues, and whimsical creatures glow along winding paths. It's a feast for the eyes, guaranteed to spark wonder in adults and children alike.
Holiday cheer overload: Beyond the lights, the festival exudes a contagious Christmas spirit. Carolers fill the air with festive melodies, gingerbread houses tempt sweet tooths, and Santa himself holds court for jolly photo ops. It's an immersive experience that embraces the warmth and joy of the season.
Family-friendly fun: From interactive displays to scavenger hunts, the festival is a playground for all ages. Kids marvel at the illuminated dinosaurs, while families bond over hot cocoa and marshmallow roasting. It's a chance to create lasting memories and strengthen holiday traditions.
Cons:
The waiting game: Prepare for patience. With its growing popularity, the festival can attract sizable crowds, leading to long lines for ticket booths, entryways, and even popular displays. Be ready to embrace the snuggles and wait times as part of the experience.
Chilly nights: Utah in November can be crisp, so bundle up! While the twinkling lights offer some warmth, prepare for chilly fingers and noses, especially if standing in line. Hot cocoa and hand warmers become essential companions.
Ticket prices: Admission fees can add up, particularly for larger families. Consider group discounts and multi-day passes to make the most of your visit.
Verdict:
So, is the Festival of Lights worth the wait? Ultimately, it depends on your priorities and tolerance for crowds. If you crave a dazzling light show, infectious holiday cheer, and family-friendly fun, the pros likely outweigh the cons. But if you're short on time, easily flustered by crowds, or sensitive to the cold, you might want to consider alternative ways to soak up the holiday spirit.
No matter your decision, remember that the magic of the season lies not only in grand spectacles but also in the quiet moments of togetherness. So bundle up, grab your loved ones, and embrace the joy, whatever form it takes, this holiday season.

Aren’t our fur babies just so cute & so much fun?
Finny says if its good enough for the bunny to eat the carrot, its good enough for me! He is actually jealous of that bunny getting his parents attention! That dog is so cute!
This Christmas I'm alone ,I have delivered my gifts to family before they went off on Holidays to Germany ,I can't travel so I'm doing Christmas with me and my Dog Dexter ,and it's fine I will be going to church to celebrate our saviour 🎄
Whenever your mom and sister get together it sounds like a blast.🎉😂🎉
It was so awesome to see you mom and your sister and her husband. And both furs babies having fun too. Seeing the Christmas lights. Have a safe marry Christmas. With both family's. Omg. You guys made me laugh soooo much. Jared you're the funniest. Enjoy every minute.
"hey mom, Elephants" LOL
Our Maltese who is no longer with us, enjoyed carrots as much as dog treats. Her vet encouraged using them.
Jared, stop complaining. It’s all about everyone just being together 😂. Best money spent. I love watching y’all. One tip, pay someone to drive so Daniel can enjoy it with y’all. Turn that $10 experience into a $50 experience hahaha😂
moose??? that was a reindeer Jared. LOL
You guys with your Mom always make me laugh!!!
Merry Christmas to you all. I hope Finley get some extra presents from Santa.
It does not matter how much it costs you. You all made the best of it, and I really enjoyed and laughed along with you. ❤
Springville is a great little city. Fun to think of you two living here at the beginning of your married life. Two Jack's has the best cheese sticks.
Now Jared😂😂😂 It's the experience, not the cost lol. The frostbite I could do without though😂😂
You need to go to this light show at 11671 Granite Flats Road in Highland, Utah. It is free but they do it as a fundraiser for Juvenile diabetes so you can donate if you want. you can park in the church parking lot across the street. If you want to see the entire show it is 90 minutes long. It is incredible!!!
The memories are of course always worth it! ❤
