I LOVE this game- I am indeed an F-Zero veteran, and F-Zero 99 has massively ignited my passion for the series! Legit one of the best games of the year, and SO GOOD to see F-Zero back! I really want this game to keep doing well and justify new F-Zero releases! :D

I always hated F-Zero growing up. It was the ONE Nintendo series I didn’t get into - I mean I played Punch Out, Kid Icarus, Zelda and Metroid just fine but then I tried F-Zero and CRASH OUT! Turn, whoaaaa too much. Smack into the wall and explode. Anyways, now I try F-Zero 99 and it is AMAZING. I went back to SNES F-Zero wondering what the heck. Honestly couldn’t see a thing w/ the blurry/washed out colors on SNES. 99 looks fantastic, runs amazing.. they did a lot do work to add new content to this game. The thrill of being in first place then crashing out because you pushed too hard.. epic. (maybe they need Starfox 99 hmm)

F-Zero 99 is the perfect “10 minutes a day” type of game where I can pick it up, play a few rounds, and put it down. In that context I think this game has a long shelf life for me.

Same. One of my favorite things about any multiplayer game is being able to come to it at any time, and blow 10-20 minutes on it when I have that time to kill. Without the commitment of needing to sit down for over an hour to make progress like if I were playing an RPG, which is what I would be more likely to spend my time doing if I had that kind of time available. And matches in F-Zero 99 start up, and wrap up so quickly, that it fits that utility perfectly.

They'd need a massive rework to not just completely invalidate the original 4 vehicles, however, since most of them are essentially better iterations of the originals (besides Luna Bomber, which is the most unique statistically yet would still probably need to be nerfed)

If they add more characters/ships (probably based on the GBA games), tracks and even ways to create personal rooms, that's it, this would be one of the best F-Zero games

The game was pretty hard at first but now I’ve improved a lot and it’s a ton of fun and really adrenaline inducing. I’ll be playing it here are there for a while because it’s simple but consistently fun.

I agree, except I am probably not the only one that has experienced some server issues, right? Cause I have had it happen 2 separate times in where I’m racing in the Grand Prix for the Knight League, and I wouldn’t finish the whole thing due to a communication error, but my Wi-Fi is completely fine.

@@davion4777 ...I mean to be entirely fair here, the original F-Zero literally doesn't have Multiplayer. This game is DESIGNED to be fun solo. I don't like relying on other people *existing* to have fun y'know?

I'm glad they're adding the remaining tracks soon...7 is really not a lot, especially since most chose Mute City or Big Blue all the time, so there is need for more variety. Also hoping for additional modes in the future, those Japan-exclusive tracks or even new ones would be amazing too.

Yeah only 7 tracks and I still haven’t managed to even play on Silence as you can currently only do that by getting to the last race in a Grand Prix. It’s not even available in Practice mode until you’ve played on it, so I’m really wishing I could hurry up and get good.

SNES has 15 alone, but SNES Satellaview exclusives cand add 10. If they want to go even further GBA can provide: GP Legend: 32 tracks (8 duplicates from SNES, not counted) Climax: 49 tracks (4 duplicates from SNES) Which leads us to grand total of 106, which is worth 10 months of content if they added new Grand Prix every two weeks.

@@mslabo102s2 That would be an absolute dream and you didn't even mention Maximum Velocity which comes with another 20 tracks. :D But I can't imagine that, it would be too good and basically like a remake of all those games. I think the Satellaview tracks are very likely though and that would be great already. If they add further modes and also offline ones and release it physically later with all the content (like they did with Tetris 99), that would be a great conclusion.

It's prett obvious all the tracks from the original SNES version will be in the game but i did wonder if they were added the BS levels. This is good news and even more for the 2 other potential modes. I am so locking FZ99. My hopes are back on for a FZero GX remaster and new games in the series.

In the time trial menu you cam see the rest of the snes tracks as well as queen and king league grahed out with "coming soon" on them, so it was obvious they would be added. Hope the survival mode is a thing where you have infinite laps and it bumps up the safe placement every lap until only one person is left

This is good. F-Zero 99 is great, but it will need constant updates to stay relevant. My one worry was if the game had staying power. I could see a lot of people dropping off after a few weeks if no new content planned. If this is true, then this will definitely keep F-Zero 99 in peoples' minds for a long time.

If they add content from BS F-Zero, it’ll be huge, for the main reason being that that content will finally be available outside of Japan for the first time.

I'm really hoping for the possibility to get friends in for it. The collective chaos would be so much fun

Lets be honest this is basically going to end up being a remaster of the original F-Zero with the addition of a battle royale. And I say this in a good way - the original F-Zero game will always be the best and its long overdue for an overhaul.

Honestly this game hooked me into f zero as a whole.

I've been playing F-ZERO since 1992 and as a huge fan of the series as a whole, but especially the first game, I'm loving all of this. It's great to see new and returning pilots enjoying the game together. I've played the BS F-ZERO game that was made available via.... unconventional means, and I can't wait to see these tracks return as well as some that were considered to be lost media.

Any way we can get more new F-Zero content, I'm game. Been loving 99 so far.

Hell yeah! Glad it’s being updated so soon and the datamined content points to single player focused DLC (think Tetris 99?). F Zero 99 is the most excited I’ve been about a first party Nintendo game in over 3 years.

I'd love for them to add the F-Zero X music tracks as well as the announcer voice-overs from either X or GX.

Hope the tracks expand into another F-Z games. Some of the Maximum Velocity Tracks (Cloud Carpet and Crater Land) where so fun back then on the Game Boy!

Imagine if they add ''course edit'' mode like in F-ZERO X Expansion Kit, and joining public lobbies to play custom tracks, that would be the greatest thing for the franchise in a free game.

F-Zero veteran here! F-Zero GX is my favorite game of all time; I've cleared all GPs on Master difficulty with every machine, completed all Story Mode chapters on Very Hard, and unlocked almost all staff ghosts. F-Zero 99 wasn't what I was expecting after 20 years but after playing it I realize it's the perfect way to bring attention to the series after so long and try to garner new players/fans. My hope is that, if this does well, a new true sequel to the N64 and GameCube titles will be on the way.

I played all three and now beginning to play this version. I am all for new tracks and the battle mode or survival mode mentioned. Let's go! I would love the series to rise from the ashes and begin to make completely new games. This game is a cool fun twist on an old favorite.

Survival Mode would be awesome. I think about it every time I see "KO" on screen.

I would love if they would let us just play the original single player campaign with it's original sized tracks in this new version. Everything is basically there.

while i have always known about f-zero, ive never been a fan or a player. BUT THIS!? ITS SO GOOD! If this is the future of F-Zero (in some capacity or otherwise) then im all in. I've been recommended to try F-Zero GX and I'm going to have to now! Fast paced, easy to pick up, hard to put down, will totally be playing it when new courses and more hit the game!

A rerelease of GX would be amazing...it's the best in the franchise, so you have still something amazing to look forward to. ;)

It makes sense that more tracks from both the original and Satellaview would show up later. And with this being a live-service game that only just came out, of course more features would be coming at a later date! The real question is: Will we see content hailing from the GBA trilogy added? Because that is a less obvious one. Also, could BS F-Zero Gran Prix be the first Satellaview game to appear on Nintendo Switch Online?

nice. i kinda have a feeling they would add more then queen cup and king cup because there was f-zero 2 on snes as well. so they could do joker cup and more for the tracks from f-zero 2 and brand new tracks that were never in f-zero snes. i love this game f-zero 99. it feels like im back in the 90s with online play

its super cool to see f zero revived and improved on like this. Its still a really cool game.

I was never a huge fan of the SNES F-Zero. The controls felt really loose, and I don't know if it's me or 99, but it feels so much better now and I absolutely love it.

I'm excited to see the queen & king leagues come to F-Zero 99, though those tracks get pretty crazy. I'm sure Red Canyon 2 is going to be a blast. Death Wind 2 and Fire Field are going to be a nightmare

I'm new to fzero, or rather grazed the outside of it due to All the smash brothers games. + the brawl fzero demo. When this game released, I played it so much, so hard that, that I have (only) 43 first place wins and am A+ tier. Stay up until 5am playing the game. Times I'm not playing, I'm hoping to watch others do so.

satellaview content being added would be absolutely incredible.

”A big flat square with a circle inside of it”? So I guess you could say it’s a… ”Squared Circle”? As in the common nickname for a boxing/pro wrestling ring. Which is perfect for a stage that battles takes place on. I’m not saying that was definitely their intent, but it sure would be a cute reference I myself would’ve done if I worked on the game :P

We need splitscreen multiplayer and 1 vs 10 or 1 vs 20 mode too! Also a custom track editor would be a dream. Imagine you can play the maps from other players 🤯

This could mean we'll get new and official SNES music. I think the last time that happened was Super Butouden 2 on the 3ds.

Death race survival mode would be awesome! I was personally expecting that that was going to be the actual concept of F-Zero 99, racing around the circuit until there was only 1 car left.

Arcade sounds suspiciously like a 1 player mode. This sounds like FZero 99 might becone a stealth remake of FZero SNES. Just add local/friend only multiplayer.

they will Booster Course Pass the franchise like Mario Kart, thats how they can revive it, regain interest with 99, Remaster and Relase GX and AX at 40 USD with a few extra things and laps and 30 player online races. Wait a couple of years and make a Booster course pass, new tracks, new settings 40 or 50 online racers, etc....

We need metal fort 1 2 and Forest 1 2 3 nobody has played those courses in years

I'm getting older and I don't get as invested in game hype as I used to so I didn't even see the last direct. Booting up my Switch after a long day and seeing that they shadow dropped a new F-Zero made me cry a little...it's been over 20 years. And it's good, REALLY good. I can't wait for more updates and content. Fingers 🤞 that we get a full fledged modern F-Zero in the next year or two now.

Cruis'n returned in 2017, Hot Wheels racing game returned in 2021, and LEGO racing game and F-Zero returned this year. Now hope Namco revives Ridge Racer. Arcade racing games are in a bad state these days, so I'm glad to see them trying to revive them. If you want to know the problems with racing games, watch Raycevick's I Love Racing Games, They Suck! It's a great video.

They should make a Rainbow Road in this SNES style...X had the one from MK64 and GX had something similar called Phantom Road. Would be awesome to have one track like that in the original as well.

An offline arcade and 4 player mode would be nice; but since this is NSO...it is not likely. Tetris 99 was the only game to offer such a mode.

I think Nintendo will be add removed tracks form BS F-zero grand Prix 2 from week 1 and 2 (Forest and metal fort tracks) and add vechles from BS grand Prix: Blue thunder, Luna bombardier, green amazon and fire scorpion (yea, maybe this vehicles is remix of classic four, but i want to see on them)

Personally, I'd like to see a mode that gives it more of a battle royal feel. Because despite the game being structured like a battle royal game, the fact that it only ever whittles down to about 20 players doesn't give that same sense of struggling to make it all the way to the end by being the best, but rather making it to the end by simply being good enough. And considering F-Zero already inherently has a battle royal mechanic built into the original SNES game in the form of qualifying places for each lap, it would make sense to have a mode where that qualifier keeps shrinking more and more, until only one racer is left standing. Rather than just ending with the 60+ racers who are still left after only four laps.

In the practice mode the ? literally say coming soon

I think eventually the game will become playable offline. Available for anyone to purchase for a small fee. Which is where the arcade mode and survival mode come in.
