They should have a solo championship every year, as well as a duo or trio championship (I’ll watch either), both held 6 months apart. Like one in summer, the other in winter.

Trios flourishes in metas with weak spray weapons and strong shotguns. This encourages skillful boxfighting and smart layer positioning, rather than spray and pray. It also reduces lag, as shooting 1 bullet of a shotgun causes way less lag than 50 teams infinite spraying with combat SMGs and red dot ARs. Most pros enjoy these metas the most, which is why the two best metas in competitive fortnite history were Stark season (C2S4) and Sand season (C2S5). Chapter 2 trios was also helped by the lack of loot on the map. Teams routinely went into endgame with green bursts and gray pumps, but that was all they needed. There wasn't enough loot for 100 players on the chapter 2 map, which added more importance to early and mid-game. It made the two most boring phases of Fortnite more interesting to watch. In today's game, there is way too much loot on the map. Back when trios was flourishing, there was maybe 1 or 2 gold pumps in any individual lobby. Today, there are upwards of 50 gold shotguns in a given lobby. Heals were also not nearly as strong or prevalant as they are today. I remember going into stark season endgames in FNCS finals carrying 10 mushrooms as a heal slot. This rewarded skillful rotating, and also rewarded smart boxfighting. The additions of OP slurp juices, med mists, key chest heals, etc made the game less skillful. It's 0 fun trying to get a refresh when everyone you fight pops slurp, 3 shieldfish, 6 splashes, then camps in storm with full med mist. In CH2, these "strong heals" took time to pop, thus rewarding the other player for dealing damage. The ones that were instant either took 2 slots (bandage bazooka) or didn't come gifted to you in full stacks from key chests. Nowadays, 50% of players in the lobby have a mini that puts you at 200hp.

I definitely agree on the heals, but on the first part? Define weak spray weapons... basically useless? And strong shotguns? One pump, or just crazy op bodyshot damage?

@@cash5512 weak relative to now is just balanced. the green combat smg does more dps than any weapon from chapter 2, including skyes assault rifle and the mythic drum. Shotguns are about the same strength right now, they just seem so much weaker because of the spray.

@@ancellery6430 The mythic drum gun had 250 dps, I doubt that the green combat has more. I would say smgs in late chapter 2 were underpowered. The reason why I think smgs and shotguns should be on the same level is, because I think that you have to choose when you select your inventory. Do you sacrifice heals for having a better chance at winnig a close range fight, or do you "risk" not taking an smg? If one weapon class is underpowered (be it shotguns or smgs) then there's no need to choose, because it's clear what is the best pick. Do you get what I'm trying to say. That's why I always hate these pump and ar only meta and the worst thing is, there are even people who want this to be the meta for every season.

@@cash5512 a purple combat smg has 252 dps. Also the bloom is so small it can be used at a distance as well. pump and ar are the most balanced guns. the twin mag and other red dots are far too strong.

What i think people dont give credit for is how hard it is to find new teams that you actually click with in general, this is especially prevelant in up and comers as you dont see up and comers as much as you would in team modes than you would in solos. Plus, just talking to random people that youve got no chemistry with can be a struggle, especially if you dont like talking to new people like me. It's harder in trios as well as if youre a solo joining a duo its hard to build chemistry with people who already do, you feel like the odd one out.

I fully believe after two full years of duos, we need to switch to a year of trios and there should be an all star solos tourney during the middle of the year. I just don't think solos would work for more than one season cuz pros really do not enjoy playing a fuck ton of solos

As cool as it would be to have trio cash cups of even fncs, the man reason I believe it won't happen is because of how heavily epic is leaning towards the casual side of the game, who would just help on and play a tourney with friends, and it is much easier for them to just find a duo rather than a trio

I agree with majority of this apart from endgame being not as skill full trios endgames you have to fight for layers so much more height and low is much harder to hold also the roles in trios especially in endgame requires a lot more then duos where u don’t really even need roles

I don’t mind duos or trios but I honestly wish there was more solo tourneys again, I’m more on the casual side but I enjoy playing competitive, but I’m not really interested nor do I have the time to grind with other people to play all these tourneys. Even if there was one decent solo tourney per season I would be happy, for players like me who play some victory cups, I feel like there’s just nothing to grind to competitively you know?

I would love fortnite to have a class system where players can tap into playing a role instead of everyone trying to be a fragger or MVP killer. It should base score on damage per game instead of kills as reward for exp points perhaps even ranking points.
