I love that Disneyland by nature seems to really lend itself to being able to balance Genie+ with standby and luxuriating throughout the day. I had such a relaxing time on my trip this past September utilizing genie+, and I can’t wait to have the same relaxing time when I head back towards the end of the year.

We went to Disneyland for the first time July 2023. I grew up going to Disney World so this was all new to me. I found Disneyland more relaxing and not as rushed as Disney World. I also liked that it seemed that the characters roamed the park more in Disneyland. We saw Mary Poppins and Bert ride the Merry Go Round. Looking forward to going back to Disneyland.

I just want to take a minute to let you know how much I appreciate your recent commitment to providing updated B roll on rides. It's been nice to see some different/angles footage from the various rides. I watch several channels and it always seems to be the same shots, so I appreciate you mixing it up. That is one reason why Mammoth Club RULES! Ha, and you all thought no one noticed ; ) I have!

Severely underrated. I was watching a DFB video the other day, which is nothing but B roll, and there was one shot where everyone was wearing masks. Like you have people from two separate channels shooting videos daily and you're still recycling B roll from when the parks first reopened over two years ago?

I went to Disneyland for the first time ever during the atmospheric river! Since it was my first time using Genie+ I was a little intimidated, but it was very easy to use. And you are right, book a LL, use it, book next one, etc. Each time we rode Pirates, I thought of you, Molly, since you love it. And so many times while we were at the parks I heard your voice saying, 'patient pants.'

I rode the old DIsneyland Skyway many times, and the one at Magic KIngdom as well. It actually shut down in 1994, with MK’s a few years later. It was mainly about maintenance and wind. San Diego Zoo still has theirs so it has nothing to do with OSHA (they enclosed theirs a bit more). Fun fact: The Matterhorn was basically just a shell up until 1978. That is as you rode through on the Skyway it was all open inside and you could see the steel structure and the track layout. Why, because Walt ran out of money to finish it (Yes folks, even back then there were budget issues!). So all the caverns and Harold the Abominable Snowman was until 1978. True story: When I was 13, about 1970, my dad and I came down on a trip from were I use to live by San Francisco he…My dad…had the idea to bring balloons so we could make water balloons. We filled them up in our hotel room and snuck them in using a Disneyland bag (which were paper back then). And as we went through on the Skyway we dropped them on the Bobsled riders! We did that on the Peoplemover too! Oh, those were the days….

There are no polar bears in Antarctica. They're artic only, so not that far from black bears, really.🐻‍❄️ I vote ewoks and wookies aren't related. So maybe ewoks are like koalas (which are not not bears) and wookies are grizzlies or another bear 💜🐨🐻💜 Yes, I think I've spent too much of my Saturday morning thinking about this 😂

Also yes it was awesome in the 60s with the climbers and there use to be a guy that blew that big long horn also and the chicken of the sea pirate ship with great tuna sandwiches and skull rock(now by Dumbo) and the buckets ❤❤ the steps are still there by Casey Jr. Ohh I can tell you so much bout old Disneyland like all the facades on Big Thunder were from the original mine train mule train ride that was my fav as a kid. ❤❤❤❤ u guys hi Max miss u

Me too! I grew up with Disneyland being one hour away by freeway. We went a few times each year from the time I was age three up to when hubs and I retired to FL 15 months ago. We had APs and Magic Keys. It will always be my favorite Disney park, and the only nostalgic park for me. I miss it a lot, but with all of our adult kids and our young grandson living in Calif we go back there a couple times annually, and it’s been fun getting to know the DW parks. They’re way less relaxing for us, but we just take our time and do one park at a time, and a great bonus is it’s much more affordable now for our kids to come to DW since they can stay with us and only need tickets. We pay for their flights just to encourage them to visit, lol. Oh, and Disneyland will always have the best weather. Almost no humidity, lol. 😅

I miss the old fast pass system not just bc it was free but bc it could account for ride breakdowns and was easy to understand. That being said, I think Genie+ is a very fair value proposition based on how much time Molly and Alan proved you can save. I’m totally cool with paying 30 dollars for saving that much time and being able to stack LLs AND not having to walk to the ride kiosks for a fast pass AND also easier booking availability at Disneyland Resort.

Great and instructive video. Genie+ does seem to work better in Disneyland than WDW because of the impact of the local visitors not using it. I've read and watched a lot about Genie+ and I still can't wrap my head around stacking using the 120-minute loop hole. Is the 120 minutes from the time you book a LL or is it from the time you last used a booked LL?

We live in Utah and go to Disneyland all the time. We use stacking every time we go. We leave the park around 1:00 to go back and rest our feet and keep stacking LL attractions while we are gone. Then we we get back around 5 or 6, we have 3 rides lined up. You have to watch the return times, but with an hour leeway, its pretty easy Also the trick to riding the Matterhorn is - don't lean back against the seat, and then lean with the turns like you are actually in a real bobsled. It makes it so much better!

    How does stacking work?

@@sandyj3231 Here is an example: If I leave the park at 1:00, I look for a lightning lane return time around 5pm and book it. Then I set a timer for 3:00pm (2 hour rule), and then I look for another lightning lane around 5:30 or so. Then at 5:00 (2 hours later) when we are on our way back to the park, I book the next one for 6:00 - 6:30pm. Then we get into the park and have 3 lightning lanes stacked and ready to ride between 5-6:30. I'm pretty sure that Molly has some videos on how to do it. But its great!

By daughter cut her elbow open on Matterhorn. She wears her scar like a medal! And the sky buckets were incredible and I miss them (and PeopleMover) everyday!

I remember the Actual "Good Old Days" when there was no fast passes and you just got in line and actually moved because they weren't stopping the line for the fast pass.

Great video guys. Have you done a cost comparison between Disney World to Disneyland? Resorts, All Park stuff, Food, etc. On average would it be cheaper to go to Disneyland than Disney World, flights excluded?

Loved this vlog!!! I appreciate knowing how much time you save when using Geie + but what month was this done so I have an idea of the crowd levels?

Have used genie+ at Disneyland for a couple of trips and just got back from using it at Disney World. Leaps and bounds better at Disneyland, and Disneyland in general is more organic and warm fuzzy feeling than Disney World. Can we just put Disneyland in place of Magic Kingdom, tack on DCA to Hollywood studios, and make sure Epcot and AK are close by? Perfect 😂

I may click for the Disney content, but I watch it all and subscribe - for the David S Pumpkins references 😂
