Didn't get into fragnances until 2022 so I'm not bothered by the omg Sauvage mainstream narrative. I rarely smell it on others when I go out. Thing is, wearing fragnance is a niche in itself.

My thoughts on Sauvage elixir, it's a great fragrance that when worn in moderation gets great reactions. Definitely top 3 performing scents in my collection. It's not an every day grab and go for me, I really need to be in the right mood but when I am it's phenomenal, all the way to the deep Drydown it's so so good. 3 sprays max

Definitely go for it! Love Sauvage Elixir. It's the only Sauvage I fell in love with and bought. Full retail. Plus, I like the fact that with 2 sprays, I'm good for the day. My 60ml will last forever.

I think that Elixir is more geared for the 30yr+ crowd…very mature and refined.

Someone walked by me at a concert last weekend wearing this and it seemed like he had 7 sprays on because he filled up the whole area just walking by. It smelled great tho and fit the vibe for a concert. Glad I got a bottle a couple years back. I only wear it a couple times a year but when I do it’s a banger

Yes!!! It has that kinda-pine smell i'm glad that I'm not the only one who smelled it. Does it worth it? I think that you could perfectly buy a 5-10 ml decant and it could last you for at least 2 months, I don't think that you could use it that much (it is just too strong for dates/office/day to day fragrance) and it doesn't even smell like the classic Sauvage DNA. As you told, the EDP version is more than enough to enjoy the fully experience of sauvage, the performance is still acceptable, the smell is just better (creamy, more lavender and spiciness) than the edt and is not that expensive as the parfum or elixir version. IMO Elixir was made for fragheads, I think that an average person that just wanna smell good will never buy this one for the price and the strong smell. Elixir is more like a niche than designer. It is always great to hear your opinion, I was missing your opinion from designer fragrances, I follow you since you were in love from Pi, in my country is not that easy to have niche fragrance, some of them cost like a month of minimum wage lol.

Definitely a clubbing fragrance since it’s loud it fits in so well and it’s a compliment magnet!!

I think for me the elixir fixed what I always disliked about sauvage. The original has this vomit-like note in it that always throws me off. I get that the ladies love it (female gaze I guess) to me the original was always kind of disgusting. But with the elixir it’s rounded, profound, powerful, citrusy yet rich and spiced. Complex. Beautiful.

Good review. I have this fragrance in elixir. I actually like the smell but regret buying it. I understand why it sells a lot, when I tried it on my wrist in the shop, I was like 'I HAVE to buy this' because it smells great, but the problem I have is that it smells great for the first couple of hours, then it gets a bit 'annoying' to me. Couldn't agree more it performs like a beast and it's very much 'in your face'. If you want compliments then you will get tonnes from this, but it is normally followed with 'you smell like my uncle/brother/cousin/friend etc'. Definitely not one to spray too much. I'd recommend it to younger guys if you are going out to get attention and especially to meet ladies, because the ladies really LOVE this fragrance. If I was going out to the club as a single guy this fragrance would be high on my list. I very rarely wear this because it's a bit too 'in your face', it's not subtle and it's not unique (almost like you smell a bit 'generic' whilst still smelling good) and it gets a bit annoying after a while, despite that I actually like the smell.

I personally think that even in the summer, that it would be heat activated. I’ll have to try it this summer

I just got the Sauvage Parfum and they gave me 6 samples of the Elixir. I want to like it soooo bad but something throws me off. Performance is nuclear and if I wore it I wouldn’t dare to do more than 2 sprays haha. The dry down is very nice but mehhh I just can’t get with it :/ These samples will last me years so who knows maybe I’ll grow into it.

Got a sample last winter. It's nuclear. Stays on my clothes for a FEW Washes! Love it, waiting to pick up this fall/winter.

My 2nd strongest fragrance, behind Hacivat. My only 2 waterproof fragrances.

I find the complete drydown of Parfums Dior Sauvage Elixir similar to that of Bleu de Chanel Parfum

Can you do a comparison between Dior Sauvage Elixir and Oud for Greatness?

I had it and liked it, but I was never reaching for it. I sold it and bought Le Male Elixir. Like it quite a bit more.

Le male elixir and sauvage elixir are completely different and use for different occasions. I find sauvage elixir to be good, nothing spectacular considering the price and as for le male elixir it’s just too sweet, very similar to a lot of vaniila tonka bean based scents. Le male le parfum is much better imo

In the real world, a designer scent is more of a status symbol than a "niche." Dior and Chanel carries more weight than a Parfums De Marly or Initio any day of the week to the average person.

TRUE, BUT I WORE PDM LAYTON TO MY PASTOR’S 38TH ANNIVERSARY. I WAS SHAKING HANDS WITH A YOUNGER PASTOR AND HE ASKED WHAT I HAD ON. SAFE TO SAY HE HAS NOW PURCHASED A BOTTLE. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN SMELL AND QUALITY THOUGH. I CAN AGREE TO THE NORMAL PERSON GEARING MORE TOWARDS THE DESIGNERS.

Not sure if its just me or just a bad batch. I wore 4 sprays of Sauvage Elixir yesterday for work. Mine dies out after 3 hours. If you have a good performing bottle I'm happy for you. Smells great, sadly mines is a miss.

Just let it alone 4 a few weeks so it can macerate,usually this happens a lot to fragrances I buy then the magic happens

I’ve smelt it once out in the wild since it’s release. The price point turns a lot of people off I think. I smell Baccarat everywhere 😵‍💫

Elixir is a rough, choppy, abrasive and cloying fragrance. I find it remarkable that people are comparing it to Creed Aventus Absolu. They have absolutely nothing in common!

Totally agree 💯 Pasha de Cartier Parfum is way better and classy if you want an ambery fougeres. (Not the same smell but they have the same function) Not exactly the same top and middle notes (The Cartier is more boozie and way less spicy than Sauvage Elixir) but they share similar base notes ( The sandalwood, amber and patchouli) The thing that I dislike about Sauvage Elixir is the spiciness it has , it create that abrasive and weird vibe . The Cartier is definitely niche quality and way more accessible, it also perform really well even in the winter ❄️ (8 hours) with a nice projection.

Sauvage EDT doesn't perform anymore. 15 sprays al least

Mellissa i wish you mentioned after the most amazing opening first 10 min, when this thing starts drying down, 60-80 min later it starts to smell like BO..yes.. the hockey lockeroom stench or dirty armpits..the scent of ambroxan is so overwhelming in dry down it makes people gag..sorry

I can't tell what it is aside my attraction but this scent it makes many girls randomly literally lick off my skin and hang on to my body all day/night😂 they just can't resist the smell of the Elixir it one of the fragrances that makes them super naughty in public and unlock obsession and passion. If you remember what e.g. Fierce, 1 Million, Le Male do or did well Savuage Elixir same story 😏🔥

Definitely worth it to me. The sauvage for grown men.

Sick and tired of KZreadrs saying people tell you "You smell like their ex, grandpa, father, stepfather, 3rd uncle blah blah blah." Another dumb quote they say is "You smell generic." Own all Sauvage line plus back-ups and all the ladies love it. Have only received positive compliments. Elixir and Parfum are standouts!

@@melissanacional9662 In my occupation I deal with many people from all walks of life. In the last 12 months I've smelled fragrances on a grand total of 6 people at best. Haven't smelled Sauvage on anyone to date. This whole smelling like 'everyone else' is just a myth lmao.

I think elixar is way over hyped. Only pros is the performance. Edp is the best in my opinion.

Elixir doesn't smell anything like the others in the Dior Sauvage lineup, plus it's on the pricy side, hence you'll likely not smell like someone's ex😉

That’s fascinating. Adds more to the darkness. Elixir with the woody, lavender, and licorice notes always reminded me of an abandoned trail in the woods in the middle of the fall.
