The core of CPEC is to connect Gawdar to China. The ONLY beneficiary of this project is China because (1) it reduces cost to bring raw materials to western China; (2) it eases Chinese exports to Pakistan especially construction equipment (Pakistan's trade deficit with China has exploded since CPEC); (3) it provides employment opportunities to Chinese workers and contractors; (4) since China is financing at above IFI rate, China is earning on US$ sitting idle at its central bank; moreover, contracts are over-priced because of NO competition as well as to include bribery cost to likes of General Papa Johns. BUT WHO PAYS FOR THE PROJECT? PAKISTAN. No wonder Pakistan is becoming next Sri Lanka.

I just can't understand why Pakistan can trust China, America, middle East, Europe literally everyone except India. CPEC doesn't meant to be a trade corridor it is a strategic asset for Chinese Navy, they provided loans to Pakistan while no one interested to invest in. So it's a win-win but not a game changer as Pakistanis expected it to be. Problem arises when US started to hit Pakistan.

CPEC is also security nightmare for both pakistan and Chinese from TTP and baloach freedom fighters.so it will not able to flourish. Economics r not right. due to high cost of debt, high cost of projects from international standards CPEC is not viable. ex cost of cpec electricity per unit is more than India so how can CPEC industry can compete India when input cost is high. CPEC is not viable as Pakistan don't have skilled labour, education base is weak and lack of employable pakistani staff. Pakistan's debt is on high rise since last 15-20 years, but the matter of the fact is that it's economy is also on a rise along with it. Debt's are here to remain unless the interest based economy is in place. Before taking a debt, the country evaluates that how can it repay the debt through the expansion of it's economy including imports and exports or by production. So, a repay evaluation is in place, however as the report said it is an strategic asset, and all the construction of the motor ways and dams and other strategic units were really needed for a growing economy. This has been the reason that we are expanding our exports and services since the last 5-3 years.
