China is one of the safest countries on earth. It is attributed to the extremely strict gun regulation and the Chinese culture that has been revolving a few old philosophies such as Confucianism and Taoism which all demands moral discipline and, maybe a good thing in this regard, obedience

I used to hear people say that Chinese are like coconuts and Americans are like peach. One is hard outside but soft inside. Another is soft outside but hard inside. This may not be 100% true but I do feel the same way. When I first came to the US I felt that everyone was sooo friendly and you are free to smile and say hi to them. But it is not that easy to have further communication with Americans. While Chinese may act shy when strangers talk to them but they are actually not that defensive after several times talking.

China is safe for personal safety. I never realized shanghai is so safe at night before I walking on the street at night inSan Diego. You can feel and see the threat at night. In Shanghai China, I can go through the dark road beside river along. I don't need to worrying the people who pass by. People pass by make me feels more safe. But be careful with drunk guy. Not every Chinese like foreigners. Welcome and have a good time here.

One problem there is if you are foreigner, people might want to photograph you or take a selfie with you. That's not because you looks like a spy, they just want to show their friends that "look! I met a foreigner today!". Imagine you are panda walking on the New York city. Be sure that tell them stop it if you feel offended, but trust me they are harmless to you. Hope you guys could have wonderful memories in my home country.

I walked around the darkly lit streets of Guangzhou around midnight with my fiancee and her mother heading to a hotel. It was eerie because the street lights were flickering on and off like some sort of horror movie. I was waiting for some scary dude to come out of nowhere and get us, but nothing happened. I was just stunned that they were just walking along and leading the way like nothing was wrong. I come from a small town in the US, but I know that even here I wouldn't be walking late at night in an area with street lights flickering on and off.

He thought I was going to mug him, I had to call the place and let him talk with the local I had made reservations with ensuring I wasn't just taking him somewhere randomly... well that was a first.

As a Chinese I wanna share two opinions about what you've said. First, west of China is not that unsafe like most of us(I mean we Chinese) think. And I live in Chengdu Sichuan, a big city in west of China. I would like to show you around and take you to places where have really delicious food, if you come to visit. Treating guests well is a important part of our culture. We would feel shameful if we didn't. Second, we don't need to really own a bike nowadays. You can find a shared bike from "MoBike" or "ofo" almost every corner of the streets. Just scan the QR code using shared bike app, and ride. However these bikes make our streets a bit mass, but I think it will be changed after proper rules come out.

Potty crime is common, violent crime are rare. Local city gangs may intent bully apparent now comers. Don't don't put wallet in back pockets. Do not expose too much valuables. Pretty much safety universal precautions, as long as you are not too dumb, you should be safe in China.

I think China is fundamentally safe. I've been harassed a couple of times for money (including being followed down the street, until I bellowed at the would-be panhandler). Certainly does not prevent me from returning.

As me, a Chinese experience, the polices haven't came that fast at most of time. But, for most of you guys, the foreigners of China, the polices have done really good and came fast. All in all, traveling to China is safe~ And, welcome to China!

Well i must say, in fact chinese people are also very easily getting road rage and very agressive to each other especially by the traffic jam, thats even more worse than the people in US. Perhaps you have such feeling because you are foreigner, and chinese are rarely showing their agrressions in front of foreigner and try to act more friendly and peacefully. But for the rest parts of your video, that sounds very fair and reasonable, especially for mad driving on the road. Thanks your sharing!!

yes, off course, china is the safest country. In USA,Nepal & India, there is no guarantee of life because any thing can happen at any time in these countries. none of the people know there who is targeting them to shoot. I'm a Nepali, in my experience, Qatar is another the most safest country in this world. Qatari people are humble & peace lover. I've been working in Qatar since 18 years & during this period, i have never confronted the situation which gives me negative impact. so, i love Qatar very much. I love my country,Nepal, due to my birth place.

hi, it's truth that live in China is very safe , but you don't understand that there is a big different between China and US, here, countryside is more safe than city, third level city is more safe than second level city.top city is most danger in China. so,if you think GuangZhou、Wuhan、Beijing、ShangHai is safe, then China is safe everywhere. travel in China, you don't need to worry about safe. the only thing you need to look out is Pickpocket, especially when you get on bus at top city. why China have low crime rate?this question Leave to you, wish you find it out ! and have a nice travel!

    1. That's because women are not culturally allowed to express sexual desire. 2. Men can be objectified, too. And objectification is not necessarily degrading. Just because someone is only interested in you sexually, doesn't mean he is automatically denying the existence of your other parts.

Most Chinese have lots of morals, However, they still haven't banned eating meat from dogs and cats. In the poorer cities more rural areas there are a lot of factories that kidnap these pets for profit. It's more common than people think. The US is no better, however, we don't eat pets and it's banned. The issue we have is our inhumane meat industry and Lab testing on dogs and cats. People will steal pets and strays for profit.

Yep,but I think such things become rare,if you have enough food to choose, it will never be your pet. I think this is also a cultural difference, because of farming culture,in ancient times, cattle are more important than dogs and cats,If someone killed cattle, then he will go to jail...

Question: how much did money Chinese government pay you for making this bullshit video? Explain to me why Chinese install metal bars in the window frame from 1st to 4th floor? Explain to me why every residential community hires a little army of safe-guards to guard the community?
