We should have played this game with Chuku as a ten, Mudryk on the left and Palmer on the right. Noni scored a goal, but he played poorly

There is a big problem in the space between defence and midfield. That double pivot is dreadful. I think Enzo and Caicedo are both potentially excellent players, but they are so lightweight and error prone when screening the defence. I would put Reece James into midfield when he comes back, rather than have that flimsyness. He is natural box to box player, and running the line has clearly aggravated his knee problems, so IMHO that would work well for everyone. I don't think we can go big into the market for a while due to PSR restrictions, no matter how much amortisation magic is wielded. The management needs to be a bit more imaginative with problem solving across the board. As far as strikers go: get Nkuku fit for next season. Goalkeeper remains a massive problem, but a centre back pairing of Wes Fofana and Levi Colwil have great potential.

I don’t disagree that Reece would probably be a more defensively solid option in the middle of the park, the only worry I have is how many knocks he’ll be picking up. I see Caicedo take a tackle that would put Reece back in the hospital once a week

@@jarellpaul7753 Unfortunately in the Premier League, I don't think there is a single position that doesn't involve getting battered at some point. Full backs constantly have to sprint, pivot, sprint, pivot, which is why we see so many knee injuries amongst them. IMHO Reece would be immense in a position where he could pick and choose his runs, and maintain position most of the time. Gusto and Chilwell(!) are fine FB options. Imagine having James, Palmer and Gusto all working the right hand side of the pitch - gives you everything: pace, power and trickery.

All my questions about the team were answered when I saw a clip of poch on a podcast explaining he doesn't prioritise tactics, instead focuses on the players being in a good place mentally!! 😂 He literally said tactics aren't important to him!! 😂😂😂

when I saw the line up, the first thing that came to my head was that beastie boys trck: "This is sabotage!" we have a lunatic manager that couldnt spot himself in the mirror. we have Statler & Waldorf as sporting directors, and we have Mr Burns from the simpsons in charge as owner(s). The real question here is do we stick with a captain steering at the iceberg deliberately and itll be fine! or do you stick hoim in a straitjacket and sail aimlessly in hope that we miss the iceberg rudderless and stick the groundsman in charge till summer (i know who Id prefer in charge)

Agree we miss Colwill and Chilly but in general this team needs to be better in defense and holding leads. This is old school mentality but it 100% applies here --> you win soccer games by having a proper defense. Period.

The injuries are REAL. But does it excuse the performances? People say we are too demanding..but we don't demand wins, just fight and desire, maybe a little intelligence.. Is it wrong to have spent as much as we have, to expect our subs to be able to beat the bottom 3..or to beat championship teams so we can rest our first teamers. Disasters rarely happen in an instant, mistakes are compounded with more errors until a terminal velocity is achieved..

Chelsea have been playing like this for nearly 3 seasons, with several different coaches and now with a completely different team. So the players and the coaches don’t seem to make a difference. There has to be something going on in the background creating this malaise?

I really dont know what you expect. If you can show me another club that started a rebuild like Chelsea (30 plus new players) most of them u21 and have success right away. Even Lampard rebuild had a Willian, Jorginho and Giroud. Being a u21 player for wolves/boumouth is not like playing for a cfc. You saw signs in preseason, building the team around nkunku then to lose him and do something else. Like really what did you expect? We win our games in hand and we’re right there around 6th.
