Thank you so much for this video! I'm an incoming student for the coming fall semester and I wanted to motivate myself more by watching BYU-H related videos. This helped a lot 🤗

Do you think you and your wife could do a run on frequently asked questions about your life together while studying? How you both live? What to do at BYU-H? What to do as a freshman?

Do you know how many essays and letters of recommendation the university requires?

Micah says: I made 6, 250-word or 500-word essays when I applied. However, recent students have told us that they wrote a total of 8 essays

Hi Lauren! It has been quite some time since I have applied to BYUH (2016 is when I applied, and 2018 when I started), but here are some tips that I got when I applied: - list every activity, club, service, job, etc. that you have participated in - for this list of activities, try to list at least 1-2 skills, traits, or lessons that are connected with them - you can now list out a bunch of possible skills, talents, or traits that you have in a resume or essay! Anything and everything that can communicate what kind of person you are can be used. Though, I would recommend things that show that you have “good character”, were a good student, and did something to earn money, get involved, or learn something outside of school. Another thing, It is important to stay connected with someone in the LDS church. I won’t assume you are LDS or not, but you will have to get an ecclesiastical recommendation from a bishop of the LDS church as a part of your application. Do your best and be honest, with yourself and with the church leader. Lastly, I would prepare your essays to the best of your ability. Try to be straight to the point and creative. You do not want a long-winded/complicated essay, after all you want whoever will read it to understand who you are and what makes you a potential candidate. For that, make sure you follow the word limit and have someone other than yourself read through the paper. Then try to add a unique story or way of writing into the essay to put in your “voice” That’s all I have for now, I hope it helps!

Well, I don’t usually ask people their age (so there might be more than the people I know), but I have met a few students in their late 20s and early 30s. My wife has also.
