i stan this group because of music and personality they are so humble.

I have always had high respect for Hobi because of his personality. I know he’s usually tends to be very bubbly and goofy, but the fact that he also does it consciously to make people around him feel comfortable is such an admirable skill to have. It’s really hard to maintain that kind of energy and persona all the time. Dude was born to be a star.

it's sad that bts can't make friends easily coz of their shy nature and people see them as someone so hard to approach wish i was a celebrity so i could be their best friend who can compliment them all the time, shower them with praises and good words without any y/n fantasy lol they really are the sweetest people i know hopefully this solo era gives them a chance to make good friends

I think that it’s only natural that they are intimidating. It’s always hard to approach and befriend someone who travels in a tight knit circle. They are also crazy successful which is intimidating and, let’s be honest, us ARMYs can make it intimidating as well. Also, it’s only natural that they are nervous branching out. They’ve always been together and leaned on each other. Plus, in the beginning not everyone was kind to them which no doubt hurt them.

So true. Their personal strength honestly astounds me. If I were them and suffered what they suffered from other people, I would not even try to reach out to other people anymore. It makes me feel a bit silly to think that I have a callused heart and am more closed-off now than I was before for going through LESS than what they have 😅

This makes it harder for other idols to approach them. They get nervous of the fact that they might get bashed for something, so they tend to be extra cautious.

Yes, it is EXTREMELY hard to approach a group that has reached the status that BTS has. But I think the thing that holds some celebrities back more is the fans. They don’t want to be accused of being leaches or looking for clout. (And trust me I’ve seen the comments)

as a army i totally agree. i mean they were treated badly sometimes ok and it's normal to wanting to protect them in that case. But in my opinion 90%of the time the fandom overreact, i mean i read things as "the black list" which includes basically all the celebrities that approached them even if in my opinion just a few were actually disrespectful. For example i feel like Coldplay love and admire bts for real but they also on purpose exaggerate a bit on the camera to keep staying in the "white list", which shouldn't be right cause the only thing that should be necessary to not be criticized (or attacked sadly) is basic respect. Just my opinion, pls if someone sees this and doesn't agree let's discuss but don't attack me ahah

Big Bang was just so COOL, that alone would make them hard to approach even without their status. IMO.

And some fans doesn't help them too. They are too protector and people don't want to take the risk to offend them.

Because they are such huge stars, it's understandable ppl may feel intimidated by them but BTS have remained the same, they are always very approachable, genuine, warm and friendly towards everyone who meets them

Approaching BTS means getting close to someone who is under constant heavy watch and criticism from their fans and onlookers. Remember what happend with that tattoo artist seem hanging out and cuddling Jungkook? They were just friends and she did nothing disrespectful to him but she was heavily attacked by the fans for simply BEING HIS FRIEND. So I don't think people are scared of them per se, but what it means to get close to them.

BTS are amazing and sweet persons. They remain down to earth and humble. the fact that they're globally famous, they still find themselves shy in some occasions. love these 7 normal men from south korea.. i will forever stan and support them.

They've mentioned it since before that when they were rookies they were only playing with each other and talking to each other even within a room fool of rookies...people looked at them and viewed them differently. It's because they they have such a tight-nit bond with each other that people can't come to their circle that easily but they're all polite and welcoming. They're good people who will help people in need. I'm happy that they have txt as their juniors because txt can go towards their side easily and I know bts appreciate it so much

The guys themselves, as people/individuals arent hard to approach but their status and the fact that they have the biggest fandom, is. Becoming friends or acquaintances of BTS doesnt just mean to be friends with them, but itll also mean to be careful of what you say about/with them or how you act around them. Normal friends, specially guys can rough house, push each other, call each other weird names and cuss at each other. If fans caught a whiff of that, doesnt matter if it was a joke, their careers, homelife and privacy could be at stake. There's also the fact that they have immensely helped Korea's economy simply through their music and performance, so its the same feeling as walking up to the president. I dont mean to put them on some type of pedestal as they are just a group of guys who made their dreams come true, just stating why it would seem like they're hard to approach. Also, I feel like they weren't treated the best on variety shows beside Running Man or Knowing Bros, and at the same time theres just more pressure to be funny infront of those entertainers so thats why they dont do variety shows as much. I find that most groups are funnier with their own members since theyre comfortable. I used to think TWICE was.. blah, in some appearances then I watch their own content where its jus them and i couldnt stop laughing.

As an army I think honestly, especially those who are from their generation or older, they know what BTS have been through to get there. And with Fame there comes an expectation of a certain attitude and entitlement. This causes people to back away. Many people change once they become famous. BTS has pushed back against that and they remain humble.

I have a feeling some people feel bad by the way they treated them back in the days, we already heard so many stories from people themselves saying they should’ve treated them better and I feel like this also could be one of the things… a lot more could’ve happened behind curtains

One thing I've noticed is that many juniors have said they were SURPRISED that BTS were so humble when they met in award shows etc.. They feel intimidated because they have this assumption that BTS will be somewhat arrogant given their status. Also makes you think why they are so surprised that a successful group like BTS is humble, how are the other successful groups behaving to their juniors behind the curtains?

It's more about safety really and feeling secure. Anyone could conceal a weopon. They are living a sheltered life in one way which makes them vulnerable and anxious. I am sure they would like to live a normal life but is that possible. When a boyband starts out like BTS young.. fresh.. Excited.. Everything is new but after 10 years doing the same grind day in and day out smiling and being BTS everyday dancing.. Singing.. and some of the choreography torturous at times its got to be physically demanding. I think they deserve a medal the enjoyment they have given to millions of fans over the last 10 years.

I believe that everyone should treat each other with respect and support each other as well. No matter the ranks or how to approach them. We're all human beings. It's that difficult to talk to someone at all minus the ranks of one's that we are all the same in every different culture all over the world.

I could understand why they might feel that they are hard to approach. With great success does come with some “intimidation” from a third party perspective. I don’t think it has anything to do with who they are is more so has to do that they are someone so successful and triumph that it could feel out of reach. I think that’s why when someone succeeds at an astonishing rate/level tends to keep friends close that they know from when they started as per making new friends. Idk if this make sense, but just my perspective.

I would love to see BTS talk more to younger groups like ateez and stray kidz

I think that BTS are very humble and that's what makes them very likable. I don't find them shy at all especially since they've been to so many countries, especially America where most of their famous counterparts just approach them to say hi and take pictures and I think they've gotten used to it.

💜💜It is natural (for me anyway) to be nervous when you meet new people, especially someone you really like and admire. You want to make a good impression so that they will think well of you, too. BTS are remarkable people that are liked and admired by most people that know of them. So most people would naturally be uncomfortable around them....until they get to know them and quickly see how humble, kind, and down to earth they are. Then the discomfort would turn to relief and true appreciation! I think that's why so many people like them..they are a refreshingly pleasant surprise!🥰🥰🤝🤝💜💜💜

What most people are felling to realize here is that BTS are just like us "normal beings" with feelings, and they want people to be comfortable being around them. Of course, they might be nervous meeting new people, I mean do you do not get nervous when meeting someone new. Same difference, they do too. As "normal beings" we really forget that celebrities are just like us they have the same experiences as most of us have just treat them with the same respect you would treat anyone else. I think if they want to approach bts and be afraid of fans then why do it, thinking so much about what fans would think instead of really getting to know the guys... I notice a lot how most of bts have friends that are older than them... they find more comfort with the ones older than them because they're able to tell their worries to them

They don't have celebrity disease cuz they worked for their fame unlike recent idols who get fame before they even debut

They're such big stars that people are a bit intimidated. Plus, imagine meeting your idol, you'd be pretty nervous too, right?

A lot of famous people have this problem. That is why so many either don't get married or marriages don't last long. Sadly most people find it off putting to be around a famous person and not see them as a normal person who just so happens to have an extraordinary job.

It's the same with Big Bang. Taeyang said people thought they were scary and they aren't.

If you read BTS book, you'll understand that 1. BTS wasn't shy, they are used to become "outsiders" from their peers. That is why they are being very careful with the way they interact with others. 2. When they were younger and "less famous", the others look down on them a lot. That is why maybe people feel awkward to approach them now since they used to be "indifferent" to BTS. 3. The strict hierarchy in SK also creates this invisible wall. Look at BTS, they are veteran now, super famous, and they have a legion of protective fans. This is why we really need to applause BTS, they work sooo hard to make people comfortable and just being the best version of themselves. Even if they don't have to.

It's important to say that now they are doing solo projects, they can also approach others as themselves without being around one another, like this is just Yoongi or just Jin. Because they spend so much time with one another, it can be difficult to get out and "meet" new people who aren't part of the group and it can be just as difficult for someone who isn't part of the group to approach such unified group

IU and bts' popularity aren't comparable. Yes she's famous but nowhere near bts' popularity. Plus she used to visit variety shows regularly so there's a sort of accessibility when it comes to her, when in contrast bts was very secluded due to the backlash they faced from the industry and did everything on their own. Jealousy also plays a huge part, fans don't want to admit it but its obvious. When bts just started blowing up in the west, groups would mention them and credit them for multiple things but as they achieved more success they stopped even saying their names. Bts is basically kpop's voldemort and it's very obvious because independent artists have no problem praising and crediting bts but thats because the dont see them as competition. Also if fans were stopping these celebrities, none of these singers, western and idols, would have friends.

@karla francis english is not my first language, so maybe that's why I didn't understand everything. But when they debuted, they did go to variety shows in 2015 they were doing variety shows. After that they got more famous worldwide so I think they had so many schedules. Hosts are afraid to even mention them because of the fandom. It happened in running man once when they apologized quickly to the fandom for fear to be canceled. That's one of the reputations our fandom has, and that's really sad. I'm sure they have close friends, but they don't publicly talk about it because of the fandom. Take Jay Park example when jk uploaded a picture with him. ARMY reaction was a second-hand embarrassment. I'm sure you get the point. About IU, she never wanted to break into the western industry, but she is iconic and the most popular solo artist. It may not seem like that because her fandom actually behaves like grown-up people

It's not a coincidence that run bts started during the I need you era and they barely visited any variety shows after that until during the pandemic when there was no possible way they would be treated like that again. There's a reason all those hosts apologised when they visited their shows recently, they were mistreated and ignored because they were from a smaller company. And Jay Park is a racist that constantly berates the culture he claims to appreciate so we were rightfully upset. Also they do have close friends that speak about them regularly and we're always happy to see them interacting. Actors and hip hop/independent artists talk about their friendship regularly without any backlash. Tablo is basically apart of army tweet, tae's actor friends talk about him regularly and they had a show together, jimin's friend that he did the ost with talks about him regularly. But it just so happens that the only group of people that don't really mention them are idols

They are grown adults, and they know each other, we as fans can't tell them not to hang out with this person because they did that or said that. They can, and they have the right to decide who to hang out

That's weird. Knowing Army who are very easy to please, like you just have to be respectful and decent to BTS to be in the good books of ARMY. That's it. Nothing else is needed. Like for example m look at Chris Martin, Pharrell, J.Cole, IU, Psy, twice and random people who said anything good about BTS gets big love from ARMY.. it's the people's own insecurities that stop them from approaching BTS. So why blame ARMY?

It's because they're directly related to political matters. They also have a higher status than any other at the moment. Along with these, they also have the biggest fandom who get offended easily. They don't want theirs or their family's career and reputation to go down because of something that was twisted to seem as if they were hating. Anyone would be nervous of approaching such highly respected people.

They are super group and BigHit has responsibility to ensure that their money making assets are protected at all times. Thats why they cant be like normal commoners, go whereever they like and do whatever they like in public or attending social function.

In my opinion, I would both calm and mature. They are regular people like us, except with more money.

Well this is normal and unfortunately it’s not going to change they got to a level of success where it can’t be avoided. Hell Bigbang is like that ……I remember the interview they did with Taeyang a while back and it’s the same situation but in this case it’s now BTS experiencing it…..however I think a lot more than how it was with Bigbang

They can be friends in private lol 😂 not everthing needs to be shown in social media lol 😂they can be friends without armys knowing and they do have lots of friends in the k industry but you know why they can't be friends with idols because most of them feel insecure of bts

BTS has been mostly by themselves since the debut; more than armys it's the k media that always downplay them. So they've started to make contents along with their music. Thus they reached to this level with years of passion and hardwork. Suddenly the media wanna cover them and all, hence armys are defensive and skeptical about others' intentions like they're not there when bts were at their lowest. But definitely Armys don't have the right to decide whom should be BTS friends with. There's a line as a fan. But bts are genuine humans and artists. If someone finds bts as hard to approach, you know it's not because of bts.

Actually they find us uncomfortable because we are so protective of them people are afraid of being cancelled....

of course it would be hard for others especially their juniors to approach them their status is so high up so far from others it could be overwhelming for others to treat them comfortably it doesn't mean the boys are mean or cold or anything but it's a matter of social status also the boys are quite shy so they stick close to just themselves it would be hard for an outsider to even try to meddle

You could also add the namjoon album magazine interview part where John eun says namjoon asked him to contact Kim Sasol instead of directly approaching her.

I think actually they can easily approach and socialize with them. What makes it difficult for them to approach BTS is their fandom. They somehow avoid scandal and criticism so they have to be aware of all of that. Simple mistakes, behaviour and even words could least ruin their career when it related to BTS. I'm not being rude to the Army, no. I'm not meant to disrespect or start fanwars over the fandom. Some fans are childish and overreact sometimes. Not just the Army tho, all fandoms have toxic fans in it. If they treat BTS like a normal person, some will be like "They are big, popular, world wide sensations, show some respect."

Maybe some other artist or Group not easy to Approach But BTS they hands are wide open to reach. Thats why i admired them so much they are the only kpop boy Band that I admire the most.

I think they are very friendly and easy to approach but because of their status and some "toxic and possessive " fans, some idols/actors/actresses rather not talk to them because it may back fire to them. But I also know for a fact that they have friends all over but they rather not show it publicly to avoid "chaos".

My ultimate group forever❤ I could never stan any other groups and I will stay loyal to them hehe

I feel bad for them and their friends because they get their info leaked and it's hard to feel the pressure of thousands of fans hating on you because you dared touch the hair of your friend, and then you just lost touch with them. I hope normal people can still be friends with them without fans getting upset of them having a life.
