TRUTH - and the idiots like the BTS toxic shown there don't realise they're not only showing they're poisonous people, but they're disrespecting their favourite group by suggesting their fan base consists of horrible people. Furthermore, people come to K-Pop in various ways - people may see BP as their first group and go on to investigate other groups, including the toxic's group(s), so it's of benefit to all of the K-Pop groups to encourage newbies, and be welcoming to all people regardless of whichever group(s) they favour. For example, while I like many K-Pop groups i don't care for BTS - I do recognise why they're deserving of their global #1 group ranking, but the songs and vocals just don't do it for ME (well, I do like the "Mic' Drop" remix).

Yeah. IIRC, she was recently recognized for having the most shazamed Kpop song on the Apple Music platform.

She has 85 million followers now. Haters (especially from a certain fandom) were saying that their faves are going to pass her by soon...but then it turned out that she has recently gained followers at one of the fastest rates in Kpop. What's particularly funny is that one of the big talking points of haters is that Lisa is only successful and only wins awards because she has so many "crazy" (meaning enthusiastic) fans. Basically, what they're saying is that Lisa is only popular because she's so popular and only successful because so many people like what she does. They think they're making her success sound illegitimate by attributing it to her growing fan base. But all they're really doing is highlighting how illogical and nonsensical the haters are.

Lisa made so many people that don't know kpop to start to love blackpink and kpop. She's magical.

Yes, Lisa stands out. She stood out to me. I'm not generally even a fan of Kpop. I've followed a few artists (like Lee Hi) for years, but generally I'm not drawn to Kpop or Kpop groups. Just a personal thing for me, but I really can't even try to get into the huge groups. I see a music video from a 7-member, 9-member or 12-member group and I just feel dizzy. Each member just flashes by with a few seconds here and a few seconds there.... Anyway.... I knew about some Blackpink members even before they debuted in 2016 because they were under the same label as Lee Hi (my main focus of interest in Kpop). Jennie and Jisoo were celebrities before the group debuted. Jennie was featured as a singer in a G Dragon song, featured as a rapper in a Lee Hi song and was publicized quite well. Jisoo acted in several music videos of other YG artists and her name was well known. For some reason, YG kept Lisa and Rose under wraps and unknown until the group debuted. But when I watched their first videos, it was Lisa who really grabbed me. I like them all very much. Cute. Cool. Talented. Down-to-earth.... These things describe all of them. But Lisa is the magic ingredient that keeps me especially wanting and waiting for more from the group and especially more from her.

Not just foreign. She is the most popular AND successful idol. She haa the most followers and gains the most followers, has the most streamed soloalbum and solosong in kpop solos, is a millionseller, has the bestselling digital solosong for kpop (7million), globally had the most views in 24h for any soloist with 75m, fastest liked yt mv to hit 10m, RICHEST idol with 60m+ net worth, most brand revenue, most tweeted idol (she owns the top5 tags), most succesful brand ambassador worldwide & most monthly listeners for any soloist. She IS the biggest idol

Yes. I would say that, at a minimum, 99% of the negativity aimed at her is ALWAYS coming from other fandoms that simply hate the fact that she is more popular or constantly rivaling their faves. They have no logical consistency. They make wild accusations without evidence of any kind. When their fave wins something, it's always because they deserve it. When someone like Lisa wins something (even though she has all of the receipts necessary to show that she deserved it), they'll just make up any excuse they can think of and make any accusation that is convenient. If it were practical, she could literally sue many of those people for defamation, libel and slander...and win. When their fave draws a smaller crowd than Lisa at a big fashion event, they just make up stories about how their fave was using a secret entrance or cooperating with security to help keep the crowds down or that the crowds didn't know that their fave was going to arrive at that place and time. For Lisa, they'll claim that somebody paid thousands of people to show up for her. Not a shred of evidence for anything they say. Then when videos prove that everything they said is a lie, they just make up new stories. I don't want to brand all fans of any group as being bad. But there are some fandoms that have an unusually large number of people in them who couldn't care less about facts, logic, evidence or principles...and will literally make up anything they feel like if they think it will damage Lisa and help their faves.

She's also very important for her homeland, Thailand, as she's representing it to many people who have barely even heard of it.

Lisa is important in many ways. First foreign Idol, first in a lot of things. She is the REAL DEAL!! She gets attacked the most too. A lot is racist, some jealousy, some outright ignorance. All of Blackpink members are THE REAL DEAL!!! They work like crazy. She was somewhat prepared for the racism. But honestly,... look at her!! How can you really hate that person?? Lisa isnt my bias in blackpink. But technically Lisa got me into kpop. I saw her on knowing bros and had to check blackpink out. Now korean pop and rap is all I listen to these days

I also live in other state for my studies away from family. So I always see her and think if she can do that for her dream why not me? She was the first one they went after. It was after that Golden Disc awards appearance. It was hard and heavy and it DID NOT STOP. It was an attempt to boo her off the stage, out of the group, out of the country. They yelled "Thai Monkey" at her IN THE STREETS!!! Fans tried to come to her rescue. But it was toxically dangerous. Your representation sees this,.. everyone sees it. What had to have kept her from leaving,... was her bandmates. She had TOTAL support from her friends. They held together tight. So when they throw shit like SHUT DOWN & Love to Hate ME, it's a serious clap back. They should be pissed. They have plenty of reasons. People went after each one of them in turn.

I think it is extremely self evident that any fandom that attacks another idol/group, or another fandom, just to attempt to raise their own faves up are in essence admitting that their own faves are NOT as perfect as they think and act. If your idol or group that you support can only rise up by you bringing any competition down, then they aren’t all that. If they are so perfect, then they don’t need you attacking everyone who competes with them. Right? They should always win every award, ever. But no group or idol can do that. The toxicity in the Blink fandom is mostly internal, unfortunately. The toxic Blinks don’t, generally, attack other fandoms, but instead they attack other Blinks. Solo stans and akgaes have become extremely prevalent in the Blink fandom, and they attack the other three girls every chance they get, but whoever they stan is “perfect” and deserves everything while the other three are just stealing time and attention from the ‘more deserving’ member that they love. Toxic. Armys generally attack other fandoms and group if they perceive them as a potential threat to BTS. They have made up excuses, and always the fault of someone else, for why BTS didn’t win a specific award. They never even CONSIDER that maybe someone else might have actually earned it. They accuse YG of buying KZread views or paying for votes. So stupid. Blinks ‘normally’ don’t do that (there are always a few though) and adopt the attitude of “we will win next time!” which is the right attitude. Blink’s fandom members do have toxicity, it’s just a different form. But it all needs to stop. Neither Blackpink nor BTS members have ever really done anything wrong to deserve being attacked. V accidentally followed Jennie for a matter of moments and immediately unfollowed her. Jennie never even knew it had happened, but was massively attacked by Armys who were literally threatening her. They want to attack someone then they should attack V. He’s the one who accidentally followed (spelling edit) her. Attacking Jennie was juvenile as hell. Fandoms need to grow up or go away.

Exactly, I use variants of the expression "You climb the mountain by helping each other up, not by pulling each other down". Also, it brings to mind a F1 team manager's comment when asked what they should do to the, then dominant, team to let other teams catch up - his response was along the lines of "It's not the FIA's job to slow them down, it's our job to do better and beat them", which is much the same thing.

Because of toxic fan culture we don't get to see our favourite groups interact much. Blackpink held a large private pre-release Born Pink listening party with their peers, including members of BTS. Managers and Press were excluded unfortunately it was the only way that everyone involved could enjoy themselves.

I would just like to make a comment on that embezzling scam. The manager who embezzled/stole the money was very close to Lisa and had been her personal manager for several years from that point (I believe each member has their own personal manager, and then one for the group). He was fired for this, but there was also scandals about the YG CEO losing money and having gambling problems, he stepped down as active but still runs the place behind a female CEO, and the company may have used the manager as a scapegoat and scandal to cover up for the YG CEO. I feel like there's more to the story than just a manager being greedy.
