Is this really possible? He's extremely basic attack reliant and is barely flexible when it comes to builds as far as I know. I'd be shocked if this actually works and even outperforms the usual Argus to be honest.

his ult is best in team fights cause he doesn't take dmg for a while and can tower dive. his first can catch an enemy and ig his 2nd is for poke/chase, although it always goes down to how it is executed roam argus is similar to roam masha

As an Argus main I would do anything to find a way to make him effective again. I've tried roam as well, but well... His stun duration is 0.7sec and slow duration 0.8 seconds and the hp he recovers with his ult is based on his damage, and there is very little dmg with tank build

I've tried it before. I've stopped trying to main other roles because I'm more forced and confident in being a tank than other roles. Anyway I've tried him with roaming tank build. It's not fun, your only goal is to provoke everyone to pour their skills on you and tank it all up. It kind of helps with the ult but you just really become a damage soaker. You can't get a good aoe set or have aoe cc skills to throw when you're being unkillable with your ult. You just stand there as punching bag or run away with 1 HP.

Don't ever waste buying a sea halberd or dominance when playing argus. You are only wasting a item slot. Just buy malefic roar if you're having a hard time killing a tanky opponent that relies on their passive shields like uranus and esme. Trust me. Just make sure you buy at least windtalker and scarlet phantom for attack speed in order to spam his passive for extra damage and lifesteal. Just focus only on his damage build. Don't buy useless counter items.

@@genesvinceguillena7512 it's not actually a waste I've fought so many heroes with shield in exp lane and every time I get sea halberd their shields break insanely fast and also since some of them have low cooldown for their skill with shield the next time they cast it again the shield is weaker and easier to break than when you're fighting them without anti heal so yeah using a slot for it is worth it

This series needs to be called "Will It Tank?" Where Elgin test heroes that can surprisingly be a tank.

8:12 BIG tip here: in this situation, where you got hooked by the hooker, you can actually easily get out of this very dire situation, because argus ult actually *remove* all CC effects on him (except suppression of course), just make sure youre fast enough to press it before you get pulled lol

The argus tank uhh i guess the build should focus more towards CD reduction and a bit damage from item like war axe or thunder belt will do a great job as tank with a bit damage. For spell I guess sprint or inspire will do a great job for his survivability and with roming talent like encourage or dire hit it would be a perfect tank who can take almost all damage in the face for 3 or more second (depending on the build)

As an argus main I dont play him much as tank or roamer. Full damage is the best build for him imo. DHS, Berserkers fury and malefic roar are three of the items I usually build

In my opinion, i think Tank Argus is only good if you have good communication and coordination with your teammates. Doing this in a solo queue is quite hard since sometimes your teammates wont even try and react to your initiation. Maybe a tanky fighter build would work so that he can at least gain more from his ultimate rather than have the 5 seconds of invincibility.

@@genesvinceguillena7512 Late game, he becomes as a sort of second DPS. Basically, penetrate the backline immediately and crush. If you're in a tight spot, pop the ult (if you can kill them until your ult ends, fight. If you can't, just run). Also, when it comes to build, for this to work, just use the usual Attack speed and crit build.

Not every damage hero can be played as a tank, you need to have hero who have passive that can convert to damage by % HP. If you say that you've tried and it worked, maybe not against good player, or you just got lucky siding with good teammates

Argus as tank is very good to make enemy focus on you..but as the main Argus player I personally love Argus when he got his first revamp when his basic attack deal 3 strike one with dash...That moment I become the top global Argus I just a few week...I hope Argus will get revamp again add his dash on basic attack back....Btw tq for shootout Elgin..Love your video

I used to spam Argus in rank game and used it as a tank sometimes. Tank build is not compatible with Argus. Sacrificing attack speed and critical for defense doesn't work for him.

The health restoration every time you attack while using ult is affected by physical attack so it's not that good but still bearable.

Any hero is a tank if you build enough tank items. I once used Wanwan as a tank, and got gold medal. I killed a Ling with my tankiness. Also, tank Clint is surprisingly good.

I was Argus main before the revamp. His power spike come through when he has 2 item (DHS + other att speed item) or 6+ minutes into the game, and got better over time. But right now he has the worst nerf any physical DPS can get which is nerfed physical growth and by a lot, reduced attack speed making his damage almost nonexistent throughout the game into late game even with full damage item. I mean he can't even kill a fighter with sustainability anymore in late game, can only targeting squishy hero. Which is sad because he was a late game guarantee hero. The only good thing about his revamp was his 1st skill while everything else sucks so bad, which isn't worth it considering his pick rate isn't get any better either. God I miss his old passive.

@@rayon6367 no point in having a low cooldown ult if you can't do anything with it. Most fighters and tanks can seat in your face and fight you, especially with vengeance, and beat you in a 1v1, Argus' supposed specialty. As for him having more mobility, what are you smoking? He no longer has a dash on passive, forcing him to build a corrosion scythe if he wants to chase down anyone. His biggest issue is as the original comment says, his damage base stats were butchered so hard he currently has some of the worst physical attack and attack speed in the game. In fact I don't think there's a single hero in the game with lower level 15 physical attack than Argus, who may I remind you is supposed to be a glass cannon with low defense stats that excels in 1v1.

Roam Argus is good, but not as a tank. He has effective ganking capabilities, and doesn't really need tank build to survive his diving initiations on enemy lanes. It's better to end enemies the moment he catches them, that's why damage build is far more efficient for him.

Elgin Before a cc/stun hits you like francos hook, cast the 1st ability before the hook hits you. Because of the delay of Argus first ability has short delay. It can cancel you getting pulled by franco

Elgin, I have an idea. What if the jungler starts a buff near Lithowanderer, after the buff finishes they attack the green creep to activate the passive from retribution, the roamer will keep it from resetting and the jungler will come to Lithowanderer. The midlaner will come and prevent the enemy jungler from attacking the lithowanderer. After Lithowanderer dies, the jungler will attack the green creep that was attacked earlier. This idea will be difficult to do solo but if this idea is done by many influencers then this idea will be the newest meta.

I think tank Argus is a good one for me because sometimes he just too squishy to play , especially in the late game where the enemies can kill you fast and your only way to survive is to use ult but if your ult is on cooldown ,then you're dead. He can indicate the fight and the enemies might mainly focus on you while teammates are doing the damage. So basically is a dummy trick,you as the target and the enemies will fall for it and die

I've seen a vid from a mlbb content creator, He used petri on Argus so he has extra stun. So I tried it out (Argus tank and petri) and it worked especially with the old Argus's curse effect it made molten essence perfect with the burn from molten. But with the new change on Argus' curse effect, I'll have to rely on the petri so I used the EMBLEM that reduces 15% cooldown so that I can use Petri more often just like a skill (and it pretty much works too.) To make this Argus effective, I go agressive with poking the squishies in the enemy team especially their mm. As soon as I hook them I use Petri and stick to them as long as I can. I use concussive blast so that there's extra damage when doing basic attack and whenever I'm low I just go ult and back away after receiving all of their skills and ults upfront. My core then strikes the backline while or IF there's an opportunity. Argus tank is almost unkillable because of his Ult too but difficult if you don't know how to move with him in the map lol. It's pretty fun in my opinion.

This is similar to Sun Roam. You can build corrosive scythe as first item and second item is cursed helmet since his clones can use it too for faster clear. Then dominance ice works on clones too and as well Blade armor, and Antique curass passive stacks with his two clones so he is a phy skill killer too.

ngl, he's better off as a fighter/tank. just change his ult passive from damage increase to defense increase. argus is not that good as a tank, bit he's pretty great at initiating team fight. this guy has 1st skill stun + pull, 2nd skill slow, and ult that has 2nd hp bar. so yeah, he's better as a tank (?)

I had a feeling an Argus Roamer was gonna show up one way or another, but I honestly don't think it'll work out. Yea he can pull enemy's closer to him which would help in any occasion, but it's all Abt his basic attacks and Ultimate. I don't remember if they nerfed his ultimate but compared to the very old one this one just finishes quicker than ever, and if he's caught without his ult, tanky items won't save him from getting blasted left and right. And then there goes the dmg, you can't rlly rely on War Axe because 1. Moonton nerfed the crap out of so it's barely good, and too, Argus does need some attack speed, and you can't always rely on inspire too because the attack speed doesn't compare to what we build on Argus.

I play Argus occasionally and i use like 3 builds but mostly i use attack speed one and focus on pushing Rather than team fight because that's where Argus is good as game progresses it becomes easy to push with Argus

Guys to make Argus effective with this build, just add corrosion scythe, he has enough movement speed to chase them cuz of his second skill's effect, and also the slow from his 2nd skill helps alot with chasing, add corrosion scythe with that and u can chase almost anyone, this item also helps with solving the low heal from ult weakness

Revamped Argus changed storyline, they're now siblings. But aside from that, Argus's storyline now are goddamn good, he's such a tragic character unlike before revamp he's more like a lot of generic villain

I also play him roamer but I recommend building him his Damage items or semi defence item Queens wing blade armor antique immo or Athena then use either fighter or support emblem to him both works gud for him in roaming state but in new I will definitely use Elgin's Emblem system

As an Argus main , I just want his old attack speed back

Another word from another argus main for me I always play argus as a tank however I don't use any of the tank items expect domain ice item late games team fight only stays for over 10 seconds as a argus tank final skill you can also deal massive damage and at the same time can be the target for 5 seconds

It's nice to see that non-tank heroes can be built and used as tank substitutes. I sometimes struggle playing solo because I rarely encounter teammates that are tank users.

As a argus main i liked so much this gameplay it's a different way of using him and so much efficient

The best way to play argus is prioritizing pushing, and investing all your money for damage and attack speed items heck sacrifice your boots for more damage/attack speed items, though you should use shield or teleport for survivability, and just end the game as fast as you can, it might be boring but it's an efficient strat to rank up until mythic star 3 if your a solo queue...

Im sooo happy but when are the emblems comming

As an Argus main, i can say he is heavily dependent on his teammates for sustained DPS. Still he is so fun to use coz u need careful moves and strategies to be effective.

I think argus can be played as tank. If it was me, i'll initiate fights and be debuffer tank via dom ice + thunder belt. Guardian helmet is a very much needed sustain item out of teamfight coz he got lower sustain during ult via dps. Cursed helmet too could be good for extra damage via max hp, also a bit sustain too during ult. Last item is optional, could be oracle (more sustain), fleeting time (more cd), or corrosion scythe (more debuff). Could be radiant or athena. Depends ah. To make it short, argus main role in the battlefield will be zoning, initiate fights and soak lots of damage, deal heavy slow debuff, and/or always assist to down ult cd fast.

badang's cc and roaming capability is good because of his skills but poor durability, he's a good tank if you focus all your item on defense in my opinion, worth a try also khaleed but zilong is my favorite its the best

I actully had an idea to play argus support by half tank half dmg ( the dmg will having abit of lifesteal to regain hp when using ult and gardian is one of the items for the tanky items .

Comparison between OS Argus and AS Argus i think it goes down to the new talent system and which one is more effective for him.I believe in a way this new talent system is changing the game as a whole scale,not only your builds are now specific but also your talent system and how you utilise it on your main.The new season truly will be a new battlefield that we've never seen before, specially for us at the official server.

Try Terizla with pull your self together with vengeance and the item was bloodlust axe then tank build was a monster in teamfight , exp lane and jungle. Coz the CD of his 2nd skill was only 4secs so u can swing it plenty times and his mobility now is better than before.

As Singapore's top 1 supreme argus, as you've seen in the showcase, he can't even kill nana at a very low hp(right after she revives). This is still pretty bad compared to other tanks who either 1. Have the dmg output or 2. Buy CA for their items. Such heros including meta tanks, or even Angela who's first skill stacks is way better. Argus is solely reliant on basic attack and w/o AS items, he's AS is very slow. Suggested to play a hybrid half dmg half tank if you wish to play roam/tank

I wish his ultimate can have auto cast, if his health is at a low amount his ultimate will activate. Also Abaddon from Dota2 has the same ultimate but better and he is a carry support, which means he is better at supporting and deals damage.

Tank yu zhong is still working as of now, I'm not sure if this kind of meta used in the recent mpl season or 6 i guess. But like argus tank, yz has those 2 cc skills like slow of his 2nd skill, and airborne on his 3rd skill and sustain on his passive, and last but not the least, his ultimate. I tested him so many times in classic, but it's still effective, IDK in rank games.

I'm an Argus user, roam argus works, but for me I use it as an either a damage/roam or push/roam, then the battle spell that I was using is arrival, PS: I used this a lot of times and it kind of works for me PSS: the roam that I use when I play roam argus is the dire hit so that Everytime I Segway/push I can deal a lot of damage to them then finish them off with the dire hit's passive..

7:45 You were wrong for this, the reason why he gets less heal from the ult is because the level differences between 2 clips and the attack speed reduction with physical defense, on the right video Argus deals 123 + 207 + 123 + 123 + 123 + 207 = 906 Which is completely same as shown. So there is no Health Reduction while using Dominance ice but Damage reduction to Argus. Elgin not understand how Argus ulti works makes me feel sad

I love how you adjusted your build accordingly to your team lineup. It's obvious that Argus will have to tank as he's the only fighter in the team

Imo, he's pretty niche in that he's only good against certain opponents (like Wanwan, Regen/Lifesteal bois, Esmeralda) otherwise, just pick other tanks. But hey, he's pretty fun to use otherwise.

I am an Argus main and roaming argus with dire hit is not bad at all, it can match up other lanes but tank Argus is a bad idea. He's tough but when you use ultimate and try to hit for just hp return it's just little damage. Your only role when argus tank is to grab and take all damage then Ultimate, let the hitters do the damage since you have no damage and can't return hp. Dire hit equipped Argus is deadlier when the enemy HP falls below. This is just a roaming fighter build, only the boots is changed and the rest of the item is attack speed and damage.

I use Tough Boots with Dire Hit, either Demon Hunter (Survivability) or Scarlet Phantom (Damage), Corrosion Scythe (Slow+Damage+AS), Dominance Ice/Radiance Armor (Depends on what type of damage is the enemy carry dealing), Antique Cuirass (Counters a lot of Physical Bursts on Argus and also allows him to trade attacks with sustained fighters), Athena's Shield (Must have if the enemy has a burst mage). Spare Item: Blade Armor (For crit based marksmen), Oracle (Situational, Trade Magic Defense for Recovery, useful for trading hits with sustainers). I got 5 ranked games with Gold medals using argus with this build.

My argus tank build is corrosion scythe,speed boots,blade of despair,(for dmg),anti cuirass,anthena shield,guardian helmet(for Def and hp) this is a very good build for argus because he can balance damage and durability

You should match the defense stats when you say that it also reduce the hp gain by argus

Argus roam is quite lethal when you use damage build with a tank hyper or tank laner.

I'm also argus user I'm using assasin emblem killing spree and inspire and conceal to make him more like assasin 1st to cc the enemy and 2nd to more damage him while I'm chasing and using inspire to improve his basic attack

hmm I'm not sure about this one but I think it's good also I think dhs would be great with this tank build to gain more hp from his ult

I think he lacks in a lot of ways that other tanks/supports do their job properly, like being gold-efficient (which means a lot of them don't rely on 3-4 items which Argus does), a reliable engage, great crowd control, and the ability to peel for the carries; he does have one thing going for him which is his sustain but it takes a long time for him to ramp up which feels horrible as a tank.

My biggest guess about roam Argus is he could a literal tank that absorbs all of the damage in the duration of his ss during teamfights

Try Martis tank, with vengeance.. and Dire hit (roaming). Maybe add blade armor too 😁 he's basically unkillable, if you time you're second skill properly.

I use argus with my squadmates and he is definitely a great team in team fights esp tower diving with lord. I am the one initiating to tower dive then when im low, i use argus's ult to catch more tower shots then my squadmates can freely attack enemies and wipe them out

well im just a new player but i try argus tank. and im suprised. it work very well. all of tank need is good damage dealer so yeah i think im going to use argus a little bit more before return to main tank

@@honorstealer they're build in a way that can work as a tank. But now we've entered the time where an assassin can be build full tank and is actually viable in the meta, and full tank build tank can also be used as hyper. The direction that moonton is taking is honestly just so weird

As an Argus Main, I can attest you gave me an Idea you could possibly tank but buy Damage items 0 Defensive items and aspire for battle spell not vengeance. I don't play him as a tank but I play him as an EXP lane. This is coming from California USA #6 Argus

I once tried using him with cursed helmet, twilight armor, thunder belt, corrosion scythe and guardian helmet when I saw enemy team had miya and natalia. I couldnt catch nata that often but whenever I saw miya in teamfight, noone could be able to stop me from applying 2nd skill on her and let our Ling do his job but sadly, Ling knew his objective but could hardly achieved it bcs of their nata lol. Anyway, we lost but I think argus with that build was pretty ok, dmg was enough to solo their mm until she got haas claw, and the slow from corrosion scythe, thunder belt and 2nd skill allowed me to play persistently and chased their dashless mage and mm until my teammates got there. But I think I should just build lots of pdef items along with blade armor and let their miya attack me and self-destruct lol
