    Jeff, Respect ✊. Brutal truth, but when you love what you do the grind is worth it. I want to thank you for the transparency of your content. It is so refreshing in a media world of BS influencers and snake oil get richer quicker hucksters to hear real talk and value. Delivering the message free of spin takes determination , like your wall reads! You’ve got some great subs and they like me I am sure deeply appreciate your vision and line of sight. It’s more than sorta, it is completely on point.

    Literally exactly what I needed today! I've been in retail for 16+ years and the last 6 has been in mgmt roles. Been wanting to pursue certification so I can ease into a part time trainer role and work my way up until I can do it full time. Thanks for the info!

    I'm working on getting into personal training. I'm certified and have been on and off with training the last 3 1/2 years, but I think it's something I want to do in the long run. I'm already supporting myself working full-time so I don't intend to "go all in" up front and my main concern have to be bringing in enough money, which is why I'm already working full time. I'm wanting to focus more on building good relationships with people and eventually getting to the point where I can leave the job and train full time. Also, thanks for the video! You presented some good information.

    Yes I have a full time job and also I am doing part time too as a beginner personal trainer I started with working in a conventional gym until I build my own cliental. Later on I have a plan to be a free lancer to benefit from charging the whole amount for me and not be shared with the gym I work in.

    Hey Jef. Love your content and have been binge watching your videos for weeks now. I work as full time personal trainer in a corporate setting and I have been loving this job so much. Im so grateful for it. I also have a LLC to train People on the side at their homes or park in the neighborhood but Im struggling with my niche market. As former professional athlete I would love to train athletes in the future but most young athletes who want to train with me don't have any money and its gonna get a while before training real professionals with money. Fatloss clients are usually older and have money so thats the easiest way to get paying clients. What do you recommend? Focus on both target groups or focus on one? A big thank you for your content! Greetings from Belgium.

    Thanks for the support and good question! I think you’re doing all the right things from what I can tell! I think working with fat loss clients is great experience, and I think it will be useful to you in the long run. I would keep working with the fat loss clients, but start to market yourself, on the side as a former professional athlete who trains serious athletes. In my area parents will often pay more for their kids training than they will for themselves. I often end up working with good high school, and even college athletes for this reason. Again, the parents cover the bill. It’s probably just going to take longer to build that business up since it’s a smaller niche.

    Obviously this job is perfect for me. Accept for the money. I live a relatively simple life and budget quite nicely, but I’m worried I won’t make enough. Any advice for possibly making money on the side of personal training? I want to do this for a living

  • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

    You can most certainly make a decent living as a personal trainer! It might take some time to build up your clientele, but, once you’re up and running, you can make a nice income. You can always add online training/coaching to the the side, or get another small part time job until you’re fully booked as a trainer.

    No it isn't. I'm not a personal trainer but looking at the market it appears over saturated at a time when disposable incomes are getting low. Another thing I've noticed is that few gyms pay the minimum wage, trainers are supposed to earn by selling their time to gym goers.

  • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

    Honestly, it depends. My training business is thriving right now tbh. Most entry level gym positions are low paying but there are ways to make good money too. That said, it’s probably not the best career for most people.

    Is there a college degree that would be say highly beneficial like maybe Kinesiology or sum that you should obtain before hand

  • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

    @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

    2 жыл бұрын

    I wouldn’t say that a degree in kinesiology is highly beneficial if all you want to do is personal training. It’s probably not worth the debt. If you want to get a degree I think a degree in business would be the most used thing for trainer success.

    I just received my ISSA certification I love workingout and want to help other's but now I'm leaning more towards a health nutrition coach that way I have training and I can write up nutrition plans for my clients as well . I don't like workingout in gyms all of my workouts are in my basement at home . How would I advertise fitness training ?

  • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation

    I’ve been asked that before. I hear the REPS certification is good but I wouldn’t recommend it to work in the US. I would recommend NASM or ACE because those are the two that US employers look for.
