Now is the time to invest in good public transit and making walkable cities. Right now it's practically impossible to live in Sac without a car. We also need to prioritize the canopy we have for our city, all these developments are threatening native tree species which we need to combat urban heat island effects. Now is the time for city planners and project designers to think outside of the box and build smarter.

This place will mostly be unrecognizable in 10 years, maybe less. Look forward to all day traffic jams for starters. Natomas is already looking like an apartment trap of over-priced rental units. It's all getting there on queue. Nothing ever changes. The motto will be "Farm to F*cked" lol...

More farm land lost and boy are they going to be shocked by the heat and air conditioning bill in summer.

Sacramento historically is a boom town. We have wealth. Always have. Once it was gold, water, agriculture and land, and now it’s culture, developable land and areas to gentrify, and cost effective quality of life. Problem is that Sacramento has slept on doing this for their native population. Families having been here 60-80 years. Its losing its roots so youre going to see a healthy push back everywhere but midtown, since midtown slides with the waves of the Capital.

I think it's because southern California major cities have more prestige and value, due to warmer climate, so faster investments take place in Los Angeles before Sacramento.

My area is already displacing kids from schools.

Where have you been? Sacramento has long been part of the Northern California megaregion: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_California_megaregion

Affordable housing compared to the Bay Area I guess

It has already become a mega region for homelessness.

Compared to cities all over the west coast, especially in the pacific northwest, Sacramento calling itself the "city of trees" is shameful.

I wish they wouldn't. I was born and raised here and still living here. I don't wanna be pushed out of my own hometown just cause these new people wanna make it more expensive to live here.

we could have just added more housing in SF and build more transit but instead we make people drive from Sac to the Bay...such a shame

Liberals and democrats from the bay still live in Cali. And they all moved to my hometown (Sac) when their policies failed in the bay.
