If you’re taking in college, January is definitely the best. You get the entire Christmas break to study without worrying about school. If you take it in April or May, you’re now worrying about your mid-terms and finals, and you might not get your scores back when apps open. You will think you will be able to study for your MCAT and study for school, but reality will hit you hard. And if you don’t do that well, you still have plenty of time to retake. I agree with everything she said. I started studying in June. Only doing about a chapter a day of the Kaplan books. Starting doing practice questions and practice tests in October (would have started early). December, ramped up everything a bit more, about 1 practice test a week and started AAMC material, and started scoring consistently higher on my full lengths. Sure, it sucks to use your break to study, but taking it during exams sounds even worse
