Dual straights 👑

Both were impressive! I liked the sound of the white Lexus, though, better than the green one. I agree that it reminded me of a 392's exhaust note. Would love to see if dual x-pipes hurt performance numbers.

Very very well done video. Exactly as described, straight to the point, no extra music drowing out the exhaust, cold start, rev, underload, high rev, video of completed exhaust, everything you need to make a good decision for your car!

Wonder what the exit speed (CFM) between the two be for the scavenging. Is it compounded like a compound turbos, or does it just smooth out the tone and make it deeper

@@NXT_LVL Corsa was the first to use the double x-pipe in their catback systems. There might be a flow advantage to it. One thing I do know, it does sound good.

Just like #Dodge X pipe from the headers then in the middle is H pipe then a X pipe again towards the mufflers 👍💯💪

First off the single xpipe car needs to fix that ground with the radio... geeze. Second, the double xpipe sounded deeper and more throaty, when it launched it just sounded much cleaner

I got a big question for yall exhaust system experts if I do a double x pipe on a 3.6l pentastar would it damage the engine in any way? Or is it something not recommended for that engine?

dual x is more refined and deeper tone too

Dual x pipe has much deeper tone than the single x pipe

I've never liked exhaust without some sort of muffler as I can't stand the crackling and popping noise.

I've got a 1996 2nd gen LT1 5.7/350 with a single x-pipe with dual Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. I love the sound, but there's a bit of droning at certain rpms. I'm wondering if a second x-pipe would help with that. I've got a spare x-pipe and a set of straight through resonators. I'm just trying to figure out exactly what I want to do. There's not a lot of space to work with. But after watching this, I think I might have to do some experiments. I should probably get some quick connect band clamps before I start. That's more cutting and welding than I want to do. After I have it figured out, then I can weld it solid

Changing to a non chambered muffler will help with that drone and add a resonator

They sound similar. But the duel has better idle and revs. So I'm going iwht the duel X pipe on this one.

no wonder my car actually sounds better. I had my welder tell me he'd be installing an extra x pipe I was hesitant about it along with my already huge borla xs muffler, but in reality made it wake the exhaust tone up and even sound like a gtr slightly. This isn't a vq video but no-one else talked about this elsewhere.

Dual x pipe makes it deep sounding

It almost seems that the dual X-pipe is quieter than the single X-pipe.

The dual x pipe has a under water sound i don't like .

That first lexus owner needs to get some them lights turned off before wasting money on the exhaust lol

@@drspeed2006 right, I know that. But that has nothing to do with the needle on a cars fuel gauge indicating a nearly empty fuel tank which is what OP was referencing.

Wouldn't do anything, X pipes only work with exhuast gases coming from different cylinders banks

There is a guy with a Ser Sentra that kinda sorta shown how it could sound. He ran headers that separated the exhaust into 2 banks. His videos sometimes show up when you search these.

Hopefully guy with single X pipe, check engine light isn't on because of this mod. Have to say they both sound nice.

Now show H pipe for a real comparison...

H pipes suck ass on literally every application. theres not a single instance where H is better than X unless you simply dont have the space underneath to put an x pipe without having it hang low.

Is there difference in power the more you add the x pipes?

Going back to single x pipe after a year .... With my new Borla mufflers the dual X's are too restrictive to that awesome Borla tone. And every exhaust is different ... For instance mine sounds quite different than this as it's hurricane long tubes (which of course = no cats), cutouts, dual x pipes, mufflers, tips. And cheap mufflers DO sound like shit

Y’all are confusing the difference in sound from the tips, not the single or duel xpipe. The white car is deeper because it has massive 4inch tips. While the green one has a small factory tip.

Hey I got a question. You guys should make a video or videos. Of strange or un usually exhaust vids. Like if someone does a Van, or small trucks. V6 cars that are not sporty.

Try a tundra leave all 4 cats to x pipe into y pipe 3" out

Alternator on that green SC400 is going out, indicated by the high pitch whine inside the car as they’re revving it.

​@@lewokejamesyep, it's called a ground loop. Sometimes it's caused by a blown Pico fuse in the head unit & can be fixed easily by wrapping a copper wire with no insulation around all of the rca outputs & securing the wire to the casing of the radio at ont of the Phillips screws.

An x pipe equalizes the exhaust pressure from bank to bank. It is pointless to have a second one. It would be like adding a y pipe from the manifolds, then dualing it out with a second y pipe. Then adding an x pipe afterwards. No ryhme or reason, no benefit. Unless you want a second one just to say you've got 2 x-pipes.

@@drbumripper x-pipes do reduce the sound output. The tone is changed by diameter. I'm running single 4" tailpipe and it is very deep for the neutered 190hp 350 v8 that I'm running it on. I have a 24" 3"id glasspack and a 30" 4"id glasspack as mufflers. It's mellow, but deep. 2½" downpipes from long tubes then a 3" y pipe into the first glasspack. Then an adapter to open it up to 4" and the 2nd glasspack. 45⁰ tailpipe out the rear passenger corner. I just think that 2 x-pipes is redundant. If you want it quieter, add a resonator. I guarantee you can find a resonator for cheaper than an x pipe. Same with drone.. do some math, add a j-pipe. A second x doesn't fix anything that the first didn't already do.

@@EricErnst X pipes have been proven to help higher end power of the curve. Like a Dual vs single plane intake. All depends on how you want the curve to swing. More low end, run the H... high end X... want it to sound like an old cigarette boat (2 4 cylinders arguing if you have a weak cam), run it straight out. The double X is a newer mindset via Borla/Corsa again, sold for the Coyotes in design for that 7-8,000rpm peak hp point. If you want sound run it open, if youre wanting to use scavenging to get you those few extra power numbers in that old 350, run a crossover or Y but don't run too large of a diameter, or you'll stall the speed of the exhaust pulse and cause a turbulence leading to lose down low.. or everywhere in a small displacement 200hp setup. I'm running the stock 2.5' single setup in my truck, basically a 289; making about 240hp.. if I went duals i'd have to drop the diameter to keep the velocity up (thumb over a garden hose)

@@EricErnst Depends on the size. There should be some enigne masters episodes on YT you can watch based on exhasut or even the flow testing that people do on their own in their personal shops. Or the full technical scientific showing the low vs high pressure affect. Now does a double compound the scavenging, that I'm not sure of. Though I have yet to see any dyno or anything to say whether or not it increases flow dynamics or the velocity or even the effectiveness of scavenging using the double X. It's like anything else performance wise. do your homework and try to verify the claims. People still buy into spending $500+ for those cold air intake kits that truly do nothing but pull hot engine bay heat.

I think LHT ran a test of Borla's X-pipe vs Corsa Double Helix and it definitely made a little less power. Had a nice tone, though....

That's gonna make it run like shit 👍adding x,h pipe is like increasing your exhast pipe's diameter for exhaust scavenging. Plus It only works if it's at the correct length from engine.

That single X looks more like an H pipe
