I was there yesterday and there was a guide with a family that just basically went through the lightning lane for Thunder Mountain. Like it was completely useless. The tour guide was also talking about how when she was 15 her elevator fell from the 4th to the 3rd floor when the safety brakes kicked in and got stuck in between and then they called the fire department. That was odd

It's weird, though. As far as I know, cast members can't accept tips. I was working during Christmas and this lovely guest brought cookies and Starbucks gift cards to give us as gifts because she knew we couldn't accept money and our captain said we couldn't accept the gift cards, only the cookies. I don't know if it is a different rule for VIP 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are “concierge key” with American Airlines. I can step out of the black car and be on the air craft in 30 min no matter what the air port is like. An American air lines employee will actually push people out of the way and take their luggage off the x ray belt to make room for me … I love it.

If you’re buying a 6000 dollar 1 day vacation tour, you are probably not “the average American” tipping is never obligated in California where Disneyland is located there is no tipped wage compensation, it’s cultural across the us to give service industry employees tips… even in places where they receive high wages. And it comes with free drinks, popcorn, and Popsicles all night long. Most rides were walk on except for Peter Pan where the longest we had to wait was 7 minutes. Disney is so unbelievably greedy AF and banks on depressed and traumatized millennials (and now Gen Z) . They rely on nostalgia to bleed y’all dry. The amount of no shits given by this corporation is both terrifying and depressing. There is no need for them to be charging what they do for everything. 100%. Unfortunately that won’t happen. I won’t personally stop going. If they continue to increase the price, I will still keep going. This is just my truth. Disney answers to stakeholders. And as long as profits increase with price increases, then they’re all happy and will continue on status quo. So yes, the ONLY way to stop the price increases is to STOP paying them as you said! Then the stakeholders will take note and the company will need to re-strategize (likely lowering prices or increasing value-adds). Again though, too many people like me will keep paying until we hit our threshold. I’m not sure how high the prices will have to go to isolate the lowest 30% of customers, but I’m guessing someone has already estimated that algorithm and the relative price increases for that to happen would offset the loss of clientele. So really, people need to choose to stop going before it hits that financial apex for them.

It’s a crude way of saying it, but that is the goal. If you’re at capacity, then you increase price until demand plateaus. At which point price plateaus as well. Disney would prefer to have people at the parks who spend money as opposed to people who bring their own food and pre-buy their children’s souvenirs. Is it fair? No… it’s business.

Its the off books tour you should be asking about...costs about 25K for a day, you eat at 2 sit down/reservation restauraunts (food is shit and so not worth the money), in that tour you actually do get to skip the lines....in the tour she is describing you do not get to skip lines, best youll get is a slight cut ahead of the rabble. The 25k tour comes with meet and greets for ANY character you want, and a photographer for you and your group....ask about the off books tour, if your gonna spend 6k...you may as well spend 25k...

This only makes sense for large parties who split it. The tour guide does not get you to the front of the line it’s more like how fast pass used to work. U get to go along the other line until it gets near the last half then u merge with the other people. You don’t just get unlimited access more like 10 minute wait for each ride. You get no discounts on anything for having a guide. You really only get a short jump in the line. If you want the history part of the guide just ask any cast member or worker near what you want to know about. Usually they are just as knowledgeable as the guides

Yes they pay them. But they make most of their money off tips. One of my more recent tour guides left his 6-figure job in New York to become a tour guide. He mentioned that he makes the same yet works less hours (4 days a week) and cost of living is cheaper. Best decision he ever made he told us.

It was a super cool field trip, and they took us to the front of the line for tower of terror and such. They explained a lot of stuff that is honestly all over KZread and TikTok. It's not worth it if it's $5k!

I hate when people say crap like “If you can afford it, it’s worth it” That’s such bs. On a smaller scale, a lot of people go to Disneyland and look at possible souvenirs that they CAN afford but still choose not to because they know it’s NOT worth it. You need to use better verbiage to describe whether something is worth it or not. In my opinion, $5000 for one day of fun for anything is not worth it. Whether you can afford it or not. That’s just throwing money away.

You can! Which can make it more affordable and more justifiable. I will say going with a group of 10 is a lot and does affect the experience. If you’re paying for the whole thing, I’d suggest a smaller group. If you’re splitting it 2-3 ways, then the disadvantage of a slower group is offset by the reduced price for sure! But if you’re paying for it regardless, I wouldn’t try to invite as many people as you cab, as it does affect the quality of the experience (speaking from experience).

I took the vip tour and it’s incredible. The private seating during parades, the back stage, the car ride going threw the back. We get out the car and it’s 6 of us in my family, and there’s 6 staff all with waters, snacks, stuffed animals, etc. and then you go in and they skip all the lines all the way. It’s incredible. The entire thing is incredible. Was a great experience, but it’s very expensive. Universal Studios has the same exact thing and it is cheaper and just as good, they had private restaurants, we had no lines, we did the Harry Potter ride three times in a row, just off and then right back on. Its a great experience.
