I had purchased the 13" M1 MacBook Pro on the first month of its release and even after so many years (3 years to be exact), it still works like a charm. I am a graphic designer and have adobe photoshop, illustrator, lightroom, premiere pro running simultaneously. The laptop is hooked to a 27" 4K external display. Even with so much happening and with "just" 8 gigs of RAM, I almost never feel it struggle and neither have I ever heard the fans kick in.

Appreciate your comment and input my friend. 🙏 I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve been fixing, upgrading and testing these computers for years and the M1 is a different type of that familiar Mac experience from the past. Noticeably more stable and it’s ability to utilize RAM more effectively and multitask with less is impressive. Every time an M1 or M2 comes through my workshop I notice the power and the battery life.. hard to find PC’s that can come close. I’ve always been a PC guy personally but the M1 makes me want to get a MacBook Air or Pro and that’s something. 💯

Hello , I’m thinking of getting a MacBook for basically everything that your use yours for, do you think the MacBook Air m2 chip would be able to do the same and maybe function better or would the 2020 m1 MacBook still be better , please honest answer

@@Avanteprefer if most of your work involves 2d graphics (photoshop/illustrator) you can go with an air. If you do video editing / 3D graphics, I would recommend a MacBook Pro system as they have internal fans so you won’t experience thermal throttling. Truth be told, the performance difference between m1 and m2 is quite insignificant. M1 is now a very old system and I’m not sure if you can even buy it.

I've a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro 13 inch that I bought at Costco back then. It was selling at a discount price in the month of December. It was a bit cheaper than the M1 Pro and M1 Max for such an awesome price. I've been using this computer since freshmen year in school and now for senior year. It sure holds up pretty well. I even tested the current software Mac OS Sonoma and suprisenly it still runs pretty smooth for a 4 year old device. I use it for work school work and gaming mostly. Mac OS Sequoia will be coming out in a couple months. I heard that Mac OS Sequoia has alot of cool features and one of them is Apple intelligence. With that being said, I overall enjoyed using my 2020 M1 MacBook Pro 13 inch. Its still a beast of a machine.

This particular laptop is a beast. I only hear the fans when I'm doing something resource-heavy like rendering 4K videos. It handles multi-tasking just fine. No issues with heating compared to my old MBP 2015.

I'd say get it if you have a larger budget. Else, the 8GB works just fine. Would also depend on your use-case. If you're going to be doing extremely intensive processing, then maybe you can consider the 16GB.@@geekdeelino

@@minhtrovert No noticeable heat. Here's the crazy part. Unless it's doing the rendering for a long time and I'm doing other stuff while it's rendering, I don't even hear the fans come on. In fact, the fans rarely come on. A 30-second 4K video rendered at 4K using the H.264 codec took about 1:01 mins. I get faster speeds sometimes. I would say it depends on your render settings eventually. For the first time, I am considering doing hardcore gaming and stuff on a Mac. This guy seems to be taking the punch well.

Im looking to either purchase one of these exact models from your clip for $600 USD or a 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 15" i9 32GB RAM 500GB for $400USD (both per-owned) will be using them for music production and light photo/video editing, they both seem like good deals but im stuck on making the correct choice, any suggestion?

I'm coming from a MacBook 13 inch 2015. To learn Foto and video editing i think to start on a budget i think this is enough. And i hope i can use it as long as my old MacBook 2015.

That's $1126 in Canadian which is decent especially if mint and battery 100%. Good RAM and SSD size as well. You got a decent price in my opinion. M1 is next level coming from 2015 13" MBP. I have that exact computer. You will notice killer battery life on your M1. The screen on that thing is killer! 💯💪🔥 Congrats Brother!

I definitely would not buy a 2017 macbook. The 2018 or 2019 Macbook Pro can be a good choice if you find a good offer. But you could also buy one of the newer MacBook Airs with the M1 or even the M2 chip (apples own processors that are extremely efficient and fast).

I agree with @tobiasfleischanderl5623 my friend. If possible aim for the first M1's if you can to get the best value and price and also best performance when compared with the i5 and i7. Like, wayyyyy better. Every M1 and M2 that passes through my workshop is just simply something else..🔥 I would like to get one for myself after experiencing how good it is in comparison. 🙏

@@Banana_Bois1 Likely closer towards the 600 mark in euros you will definitely land an M1. I would aim for that and not go less than an M1 my friend. The newer the better because more likely to have a better battery but there is a way to check the battery cycles on a Mac laptop. You can find that info online for sure. I personally really like the 2020 M1. Make sure to look over the computer carefully if buying used. Check all the corners to see if it was dropped or banged up. Check the charger and charger cable which will most times speak to the condition of the environment that the computer was used in. Ask to meet at the Apple store if buying from someone online. While there ask them how much they would charge to change the battery for you if you decide to do so down the road. One of the best things about Apple Laptops is their battery life and if you've good a fresh Apple Original battery in it with a fresh install of the newest macOS from USB install, it will run and operate like new. Hope these tips help my friend. 🙏
