Not sure if you know this but you didn't seem to always do it, you can only crit someone when not sprinting, so right when you hit them you wanna release W or else the crit will count as a sprint hit instead and not deal the 50% extra damage.

I have been playing 1.20 pvp since December now, I think I've gotten decent at sword, but shield and stuff is still a thing to learn

A lot of people say that 1.8 isn't skill based which id beg to differ, clicking fast isn't that important which a lot of people get stuck up on and is their #1 argument, you have to learn movement, and is even go as far to say that timing is just the same in 1.8 as 1.20, it's just different things that require it, in my opinion, people get the sheer amount of items mixed with skill, so yes, 1.20, is harder to learn, but that's not due to skill, it's due to the amount of style and items.

1.20 pvp guru here: i have been playing for 2.6 or more years of 1.9 pvp and i usally liked 1.8 but i quit because of you. i now main 1.9 and i was a crystal pvp pro. its extremely hard but i actually got really good at it, tip for 1.9 try strafing more it helps alot in sword. cya

Am only 5 months xp but mainly this is all about movement and aim someone with the cheapest mouse can beat you as long as they know movements and aim, no spamming lol you wanna sprint hit once while moving sides of the opponent then then change direction and crit if done right the player can't aim at you, its really hard when learning lol 😅

Here are some of my tips: you should try to p-crit, its when you let your opponant atack u first and whilst ur in the air from the attack you hit him making it a crit s tapping is op btw. Hit selecting is very op if you and your opponant have low ping. I have been playing newer pvp for 5 moths now but now im bad cuz i havent played minecraft in a month

I'd say I'm decent at 1.9+ PvP being modest, you arealready amazing at it ngl, only tip I'll give is that Straffing is REALLY good in the new PvP mechanics (sword), and like you said, backing out is really important in 1.9+ which is a death sentence is 1.8. Movement and Timing is everything in 1.9+, just practicing that will help a ton. 1.9+ >>>>>> 1.8

Strafing is only effective in battle royal or against noobs and is not that effective in sword cause it relies on your opponents mistakes (pros won’t mess up their aim). When strafing you also don’t have full forwards velocity so your opponent can win trades and combo you.

​@@slies3949yeah, when you watch t2+ gameplay you wont see them strafing at or very rarely. That only really matters in sword tho, since pot and nethpot are heavily relyant on strafes and shield is all about dodging hits etc. I think that unless you play on stray or valed or somewhere else whith good players, strafing is REALLY helpful, especially on high ping.

Umm you can try like w tapping or lava placing and hotkeying are good

I think 1.9+ is better because there are so many cheaters in 1.8- and it makes it less fun I wish that Minecraft had a better anti cheat system. I hope you do what you enjoy! Also enjoy your trip to Spain!

Another must have for 1.20 pvp is learning how to P-crit so you can basically trade until your opponent misses and then crit chain whilst they try to run. Also my favourite ice-cream flavours are mango and vanilla.

sweeps dont deal less dmg as sprint hits, they just deal less kb, so there is almost not reason to use them

basicly, except for advanced sword against laggers and chasing someone with speed 2 were ur not jumping, but that are rare occasions@@Chiefxd.

I don’t think that 1.20 sword is as skilled as 1.8, while simultaneously having a larger learning curve. Crystal is a different story because it’s the definitive and best way to experience 1.20 PvP. 1.8 is still a better game in general because there’s more you can do, and it’s a lot more satisfying.

1.8 makes less fun because now there are so many cheaters and sweats and it's all about clicking and the movement. In 1.9+ you need good timing good movement and good click timing and much more. At the end of the day: 1.9+ is more skillbased than 1.8
