Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (which was a movie first!), Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel. You might call them schlock as an adult, but they mesmerized us as kids. And they all had some great design! R.I.P.

Irwin made the biggest hits and also the worst crap .... If you make enough of them, some will stick so just keep on working - that’s the secret.

Sorry but irwin deserves his hate next to making some of the dumbest movies ever he was also a jerk to the point were everyone wanted to void their contracts with him once and for all to get away from him.

When the camera zooms out after Irwin clears his throat, notice the poster for The Swarm!!! Irwin disliked the movie so much that he walked out of interviews whenever the movie was mentioned and had two wise-ass reporters escorted out of his office, yet there's a big ol' poster for the darned thing in the background.

I wonder what he would have thought of the 9-11 attack on the WTC !

9/11 was so terrible I suspect he would have regretted making the Towering Inferno. On the other hand, the actual event was so unprecedented that people could only describe it as being like a disaster movie.

Personally, I like the build-up to a disaster movie--the small barely noticed indicators, the little things overlooked, people's reactions--and once the disaster is full force I lose interest.
