I used to live in NYC. I lived in the Bronx. I lived on the corner of Southern Blvd and Fordham Rd. That Mc Donald’s is in front of my building. My stop was Pelham Parkway. I would either walk down the expressway or get that bus to come down the street. Sometimes I would just get a livery taxi home. I lived in the Belmont section and Arthur Ave. Crotona Ave, Prospect Ave, Southern Blvd. All that is off 187th. I go on Google Maps to see my old neighborhood. It’s changed a lot. Fordham University is buying up a lot of those buildings for the students. Angel’s Grill is gone. That was on the corner of 187th and Crotona. Mt Carmel Pharmacy is still on the corner of 187th and Beaumont Ave. Memories.

I want to thank you for this. Both north and southbound. Watching this brings back so many memories and shows so much of what’s changed at the same time! I haven’t been back to NYC since 2010! Many, many thanks!

This is my childhood train 2 train. Man memories. But I always visit New York where I was born. Especially Manhattan cause that's where I was actually born

I used to ride these trains with my dad We rode all the way to the end of the line E 241 St Did you know that you can walk two blocks from the station to Mount Vernon in Westchester county NY?

I gotta say that out of all the IRT subway lines, The 2 would be the longest. Has about 49 stations in the daytime, but between 12a.m and 5a.m, it has about 61 stations when it runs local in Manhattan. Now that's a long ass ride for this line, but that's why I love it because even though it's a very packed line, it pulls its weight hard, so I call it the workaholic line. Anyway this line gets a 7/10. It deserves that because it does something the 1 and 3 can't and doesn't do; serve the East side of the Bronx. The 1 and 3 aren't bad either, but that's why I think the 2 is basically the leader and boss of 7th Ave.

Yeah I think that’s another reason why the mta would make the 2 switch to a 5 they would switch before the strip map 2/5 was a thing

@@dottybambni partially true. but for years before the fleet interchange the crew would change the train fron a 2 to a 5 or vice versa at flatbush. there have been many times i was on a 5 where it had the 2 strip map and vice versa. also the crew is the same

Best train compared to its 1 & 3 counterparts that still have the retro seats and the AC blasting at 32 degrees lol. This is the back of the train usually by at least Church Ave there’s a number of people getting on. My gripe this train 8/10 holds at President St due to poor design where the 2/3/4/5 lines converge at Rogers Junction shortly after this stop.

Yep. The 2 train has about 49 stations in the daytime, but late nights when it runs local in Manhattan it has about 61 stations. No wonder why this line is so packed a lot and it's also because it's the only line on 7th Ave that delivers people to the East side of the Bronx. The 1 only stays on the west side of the Bronx.

@@merimkole9930 I miss those days. I used to live in New York City between the late 1980's and the 1990's. Everything was different back then. The REDBIRDS were still running on the (2) & (5) trains at that time and some ran on the (4) & (6) trains too.
