    I’ve seen shotty work from both Union and non union hands in the pipe fitting trade. I’m a non union pipe fitter. Been doing it 22 years. The benefits of non union SUCK, the pay isnt as good as union, BUT I’m employed 365 days a year, and I sleep in my bed EVERY night.

    Union Boilermaker here and often wish id taken that path instead. Hotel living more than my house

    It’s a tryout. They have to make as many trips back and forth for 30 minutes straight. I’m pretty sure it’s a 10 ft number 8

    Same reason there is try outs for anything else, Allows the recruiter to pick the best talent.

    for such a dangerous job youll think they struggle to find anyone willing to do this job but Im WRONG!!!! so much people they have tryouts wow

    Because this is a coveted job they're not taking everyone just the best...usually they take 10 percent of applicants...so if they give out 500 applications they're only looking for 50 new apprentices ...may the best person win

    You’d be surprised how many people don’t understand how hard it can be, so why waste a spot on a person that will give up in a few weeks… Ironworker for 40+ years
