    There is quite a bit of data on how hypothermia affects heart rate specifically the rate of the heart contracting. It’s not exercise specific, but I can see crossover.

    I’ve had the same problem on the first half of the bike at O’side. Interested in your ideas to get normal power after a cold swim. +1 on comment about how you deal with Reynauds. Get em at Texas!

    Lingering fatigue

    An infection or something (but this would typically increase hr)

    Missreading (due to the temperatures)

    Or, as Matt suspects (which makes it the most likely): a body-problem with the temperatures
