I had local radio on the morning of the cooling towers demolition and the number of people who were interviewed who thought they were to do with the Industrial Revolution was rather worrying.

OMG I LIVE IN TELFORD, I am obsessed with the towers, since i found out they are demolishing the towers and plus the actual site, i was crying my eyes out, tomorrow, i am walking down there and standing right next to the towers!

Same here. Gutted they are being demolished. I live in Wolverhampton and u can see them on a clear day from the Penn road and goldthorn hill. How easy it to get close to the cooling towers?

It is a shame! That's pretty awesome that you can see them from so far away! It's going to look bare without them, instead we get more bluddy housing! Telford is going to go from a place of natural beauty to a place chock full of houses! Very easy, but there will be a fence separating you from them (unless you trespass) and you'll be in a wooded area obscuring some of your view 🙃

There is going to be 48 hours notice before the cooling towers are demolished. The end of an era and the end of this colour of tower I think.

Hello, I'm not sure how many of you know, or will read this in time. But the towers are scheduled to be demolished on Friday 6th December 2019 at 11am.

Hi yes I read about it on the fb Shropshire news online. There is going to be a online feed where you can watch it in I think the council website? I haven't had chance to go since I last commented on here to take some pictures of the cooling towers whilst they are still there 😔 I did take photos last year on top of the wrekin in summer but there were too many clouds in the way.

Hey! I’m glad you enjoyed it! My best piece so far IMO. It’s overall such a big complex. It’s gonna be a real shame when they bring it down. 😩

Sorry about the late reply! I didn't ask permission, I launched and landed on the main bridge/entrance to the power station, I was neither approached or asked about my intentions, so I don't believe the security guards minded 😂

Amazing footage but it's an awful soundtrack. I ended up just muting it as it was just too annoying & piercing, taking away the quality of what you'd captured.
