Iron Maiden - The Lost Factor - (Live 1995, Bulgaria)

Музыка

Bulgaria, Sofia, Hristo Botev Hall 16.10.1995. "The Lost Factor" is the title of this video concert.
Important note: The sound in the song "Man On The Edge" is the studio sound from the album "The X Factor" (I don't know why). The creators of this DVD will surely know, so you should ask them ;))) The rest of the concert is 100% live. Quality is very good.
Setlist:
1. Man On The Edge
2. The Edge Of Darkness
3. Fear Of The Dark
4. The Clairvoyant
5. The Number Of The Beast
6. Hallowed Be Thy Name
7. The Trooper
8. Iron Maiden

No matter what you think I love the " dark era " of Maiden...and I surely love the dark, intense and powerful voice of Blaze, so many brilliant Golden Gems and even masterpieces were written and performed during this era and even if it´s vastly underrated we still hear echoes of the Blaze era in their later music, both lyrically and musically....to me Blaze´s an incredible singer, there are so many songs that prooves me right.....my love and admiration for the Maiden is a never ending story, regardless of who sings...

I saw them on this tour. They came to Ft. Lauderdale in March of 1996 and played at a small club called The Edge. It was really cool seeing them in a club rather then a big arena because I was able to get right up to the front of the stage. I got to meet the band after the show and got Nicko and Dave's autographs. It's been 20 years and I still have those autographs!

Brilliant performance by Blaze! He is plenty good enough. He is a different singer to Bruce, and that’s the beauty of it. Bruce is a tenor and Blaze is a baritone. A racehorse and a shire horse are two different beasts. At the end of the day Blaze was there to give it everything when Bruce didn’t want to give anything.

can you imagine trying to sing bruce songs? Ofcourse after some shows he would sound terrible! He actually destroyed his voice, but this is not Blaze fault! He wasnt so bad that everybody things. X factor was an amazing album but after bruce nothing sounds better for the most of the fans. So much hate for a man who really was a big Iron Maiden fan, and was a very lucky man. He is a good singer but not for the Irons songs. Anyway he was good at the x factor and not a great voice, but he had a huge spirit in his singing and that is rock n roll for me.

david campbell I am not gonna lie. X factor is one of my favorite albums. many people hate it. I understand, why. I have been in the virtual tour and it was a very good live show. Maiden never disapointed their fans in live shows.I dont know if it was good or bad hiring Blaze. But i can say that they didnt respect his abilities and not changed the songs tunes. X factor and Virtual are 100% Bayley albums, and i think theare are some good songs in them.I miss the soul of those albums in maidens now days songs. Anyway...if you have time, go and listen his personal albums. They are amazing. every album completely different and progressive. Good music. Theare you can understand who really Blaze is. Im a huge fan of his music. Very underated artist.

very well said , I couldn't agree more, maiden could have been even more awesome with blaze but for some reason they refused to tune down for him , don't know why the hired him then if they wanted him to sing in bruce's key knowing he couldn't , a simple tune down would have solved everything, at least Janick has addmitte4d it was some what their fault in making him sing out of his register, a simple tu7ne down no straining on his voice who knows he might still be there , read his book at the end of the day what they did to blaze was unforgivable, I lost a bit a respect for steve after reading blaze's book

X-Factor is one of my favorite albums and for me Blaze is great on the songs on this album. Of course he would have problems singing songs made for Bruce to sing, and that's not his fault. He strives to do his best and maybe the band should have adapted to him too, in some way. But as much as some people hate Blaze, songs like The Clansman are still played live today, so he left his mark on the band's history.

They are very different... I like both and also Paul. Blaze was out of tune in live with Maiden but in their material he is accurate (in live and studio). Now Bruce's voice is very limited (i know... he had cancer and it's older) and Blaze sounds very good to me. Regards.

The "I feel reborn again" line at the end of the Clairvoyant was Blaze resigning to the fact he just couldn't do it. It's such a shame to see a great singer reduced to struggling his way through songs (i) not written for his voice and (ii) played in the wrong key for his voice. Wolfsbane and Blaze's solo stuff are both so good. This was simply a case of terrible recruitment by Steve.

First saw Maiden on this tour. I hold it as still the second best time I saw Maiden. He sounds great (Blaze) during some songs and not so great on others (not all the earlier stuff sounds bad). It was cool seeing him in the club, and for all the haters out there, even Bruce couldn't sing some of the songs he sang right on Live After Death? Or do you count the end of Flight of Icarus "singing"? He did get better in the nineties and during the reunion and he's great now but had some bad years as well.

Remember that world slavery tour lasted 331 days with 190 live concerts! And of course Bruce is human and thats why sometimes he hammers his voice! He was really exhausted and also they played in huge arenas! With very complicated and demanding songs! And the tours with Blaze were short and some of the them were played in small places! So theres no way to compare with Bruce ! Dickinson is a beast! And now he is singing better than in the nineties ! And performed flight of icarus during legacy of the beast best than ever!

The crowd was WAY too big for the old Birch Hill Niteclub. I remember the first 3 songs were Man On The Edge, Wrathchild and Heaven Can Wait. By the end of WC I was shitting my pants and had to fight my way to the back of the club for air. That was half my life ago and I can still smell that cold Feb night. Up The Irons FOR LIFE!

Yeah...it's really baffling and sad. I saw him on a doc talking about having to sing the high stuff and he was like 'you just have to man up'...but it's completely ridiculous. It's a shame they didn't feel able to go all-in and play X-Factor in its entirety, like they did with Matter of Life and Death, and really build the whole thing from the ground up again. But then...Virtual XI is still dreadful. In fact, tell you what I think he'd sound amazing singing - Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg. That quiet intro!
