About Iron Maiden:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of 44 years they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

Been listening to this album on repeat for way too long to be healthy. Think it may have become my favourite Maiden album, and Hell on Earth has become my favourite Maiden song. Run to the Hills was my first Maiden purchase, back in 1982, but I prefer the later albums, especially Brave New World, Final Frontier, and now Senjutsu. Controversial to many Maiden fans I know, but I like what I like.

I still remember the first time I heard this song. It was September of 2021 and we were traveling as a family to the ranch, seemingly in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. We started playing Senjutsu to finish it as we arrived at the ranch just right after midnight. The song began to play just as we left the highway and entered a dirt road connected to the ranch. All five of us fell into a deep silence in the middle of nowhere, in complete darkness, with no sound but the notes of this melody. As the song ended, my father broke the silence with a simple "wow." I nodded in agreement. As we arrived, I tried to remember the first time I listened to Iron Maiden. My memories of a Sunday morning when I was around 10 years old (Now I am 30), sitting in the backyard after breakfast, came flooding back. I recall my dad turning on the CD player and listening to "Running Free." and since then, it started being my favorite band. The band had evolved since then, and they aged very well. I thought that If Iron Maiden never released another album, this song would be the perfect way to conclude almost 50 years of career.

They are a great band and exceptional live performers to be able to share with the next generation. I took my sixteen-year-old son to see them in Detroit in October. It wasn't my first IM concert, but it was his. We were both blown away. These guys keep sounding brilliant year after year. I wish they would have played Hell on Earth during this tour, as it is my favorite from the Senjutsu album, but the show was absolutely stellar nonetheless. Maybe on the next tour (fingers crossed). Hoping for some material from Seventh Son on the next tour as well.

Occasionally, a band writes a masterpiece that just has that "last song of the night" feel. It just soars, musically and lyrically. It makes you think about life. It touches your heart. It makes you feel angry, frustrated, sad, hopeful, proud. It makes you feel like you're flying. It makes you feel alive. Iron Maiden writes all their songs like that.

So don't seek the 80's, this ist '21 (and further), and they still remain a class for their own - or, as I read otherwhere: this is not Heavy Metal, this is Iron Maiden!

@@DM-rc4yu It makes the songs feel like actual, entire books or a whole movie when it's parted down with intros, themes, a musical motif. It's truly like entering a new world when realizing the content as a whole. The contemplation of life persists here; where you know it in your soul that the Earth we live on is one of the most bitter, dark and depressing lands to exist. Steve Harris clearly outlines what it's like to stare into the abyss and acknowledge you just really want to pass on and yet somehow have gratitude, rather than have a deep complacency of holding the one "answer" to all the woes on Earth.

There’s so much depth and texture in this album, and this song has this vibe of them like knowing this might be their last recorded song. So emotional and personal. A year and four months later, and I still get emotional listening to this song. I was just blown away the first time I heard it. Everything about it is a masterpiece - the intro has a way of hypnotizing me, Bruce’s vocals are so full of raw emotion and anger (“love in ANGER,”) the guitar solos are just stunning (I literally gasped in shock the first time I heard Dave’s solo,) and the gorgeous guitar harmonies. This song doesn’t get old no matter how many times I hear it. This isn’t just my favorite song on the album, but my favorite Maiden song of all time.

Meh. Boring album, TOO DAMN SLOW. This is worse than X Factor, not a single great guitar riff, especially the classic double harmonics that made Iron Maiden become what it is. Which is astonishing considering they have like 6 guitars. It sounds more like Celtic music or something, not heavy metal. And especially not Japanese.

There are those who say Maiden's songs are too long. Phantom of the Opera was long on their debut and many classics are long as well. We should celebrate all the songs and albums they release. One day there will not be anything new to listen to. Anyone agree? Love Maiden from early 80's til today and tomorrow.

The year was 1980. I was just on the verge of becoming a teenager. I had $10 of grass cutting money in my pocket and was heading to the record store to see if there was a new Black Sabbath album I could add to my sparse collection. I knew the store well, I had practically worn a path to the “Heavy Metal” section. As I flipped through the album covers, I didn’t find anything that I didn’t already own from BS., and I kept on flipping. Then, suddenly I got by the Iron Butterfly section and there, staring at me with the most gruesome, soul ripping stare, was Eddie. My first reaction was, “wow, that’ll piss Mom off”. The price was good , $9.99 iirc, and the owner knew me as a steady customer and let the taxes slide. I practically ran home to put my new find on the record player. From the very first bars of Prowler, I knew I was hooked! Here we are 40yrs later and I’m still as much of a hardcore fan as I ever was! As I am writing this my Mom is in a hospital room, holding my Father’s hand as he slips the bonds of this life. It has been a brutal 11 month battle, watching my Dad try to recover from falling off the shed and breaking his neck. But, he will soon be out of pain and resting peacefully. I just know in my heart that Clive is there with a pair of sticks, holding a guitar for my Dad. Rock in Peace Dad, I love you!! And as for my Mom, when she saw Eddie on my album cover, all she said was “he looks like he needs a good meal, and a bit of a haircut.”God bless’r. Thank you for helping me through this darkest hour. I haven’t needed the Iron’s more!! UP THE IRONS \m/, ,\m/ (I know this was a long one, and if you made it to the end, drop what you are doing and go tell whomever you have in your life that you love them, before you can’t anymore).

Hell on Earth is a piece that lasts 11.19 minutes and not a second is left over. Time passes, you will not look at the clock to know when it is over, but you will be wishing it never ends. Because it will raise your mood; because it is epic; it is melodic and triumphant. You were born to win! The melody pauses and speeds up when appropriate: "love in anger, life in danger" "love with anger, life in danger". It is the best conclusion for Senjutsu. It is reminiscent of The Final Frontier, "When the Wind Blows." But it is not a rehash. It's new, it's original and authentic from minute one.

"The plan we've got - it's not really a secret; I think everybody else has chatted about it - we will, I hope, we've talked about doing the entire [Senjutsu] album start to finish, but not this time around," the singer said (transcription via Blabbermouth) on the Talk Is Jericho podcast hosted by AEW superstar and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho. Dickinson understood that the full album set may not be the most attractive concert option for fans and noted, "And we all appreciate that that is something that really diehard fans will probably love and other people will go, 'Hmmm, I'm not going to go see that.' So the answer is you play smaller venues so that they sell out with just your diehard fans. Because it's a musical thing to do - it's a musical thing."

Iron maiden, have known your music almost as long as I’ve been alive. In all these years you haven’t stopped and your music has only gotten better with time. This song is a good example of that. Don’t ever stop guys, can’t imagine the world without you at this point. If anyone ever tell you guys your too old to rock, I’m personally prepared to whoop them. Thank you Iron maiden for being you

Dear iron Maiden, I can hardly bear all the feelings that music evokes in me. It is a perfect work worthy of the masters of all masters. The music, singing and lyrics of full album are so magnificent, every moment touches my soul so tremendously. And my soul rejoices with happiness. And I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for this Masterpiece and for your guidence through my life. With love K. ❤‍🔥🥰♥

nonstrop repeat 5:19 and I'm crying every time I hear this chorus masterpiece: "I wish I could go back I'll never be the same again Bled for all upon this hell on Earth And when I leave this world I hope to see you all again On the other side of hell on Earth Upon the eyes of good I'm following the light again In between the dark of hell on Earth On the other side, I'll see again in heaven So far away from this hell on Earth"

Maiden fans are a different breed. I know, I am one. I my darkest moments on this earth, I listened to Maiden. In my best moments, they were playing. In the year of turmoil we've all had, they were my constant soundtrack. As a kid, not knowing how the world worked, the idea of liking a band so much was weird. It's been 20 years now, and Iron Maiden have been the only constant in my life, and I know that's true for countless others. Hell on Earth is almost a summation of everything they, and we, stand for. TL/DR: great song.

HELLO TO ALL MY BLOOD BROTHERS ACROSS THE WORLD FROM SOUTH WALES, UK. I've been a fan since The Number Of The Beast came out in 1982...I was 11 years old at the time. I'm 50 now, and like you, they have been the 1 constant thing in my life. Through good times and bad, Maiden have always been there for me. They were number 1 in the UK charts the week my son was born with Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter. I took my 6 year old daughter to see them on the X Factour and she absolutely loved that gig. And now we have SENJUTSU which is a fantastic album. I really hope they have another 4 or 5 albums left in them before they decide to hang it up for good. UP THE IRONS.

Till a few years ago I did not know many metal heads let alone Maiden fans. So i am happy to see all this LOVE of this one band among many.
