Somewhere in Time is definitely my favourite album by Maiden. Besides the incredible fact that you can hit every note correctly, the guitar sounds the same as on the album!

This is some of the two boys' finest hours, particularly Adrian. What an insanely beautiful mesh of flow and chemistry between the two guitarists, it's truly magic. Adrian's solo writing here is just so memorable, you can hum it note per note and I think that's the mark of a truly great composition even if it's a crazy guitar solo.

Adrian’s solo from CSIT is my favorite piece of guitar playing ever! As expected you delivered a perfect cover with the tone spot on!

Ah yes! Those are quarter note triplets. Basically, you have three notes per 2 beats (2 triplets per 4-beat measure). He does tend to favour that rhythm 😊

AMAZING! this album has some of the best solos and melodies the band have ever done! my favourite album too!

This was so accurately played that it blends perfectly with the original solo, even the bends and pinch harmonics are perfect which is amazing.

A very nicely constructed solo by Murray, to bad it is paired with possibly the greatest Adrian solo moment. This guy was a beast during that era

This is one band that never had any trouble figuring out how to start an album! I will never forget hearing this song for the first time back in the 80s . Blown away! Great performance Nico!

It's illegal to play so well.

I haven't really ranked Maiden solos ever (I think I should make a list), but these solos are probably in my personal top 5 or top 3 from them. These are really good.

Their best solo combo ever... Dave so fluid and dreamy abd adrian so structured and on point.. tapping part at the end is just amazing.. such an epic song and awesome album.. in my top 5 best albums in no particular order

Noooooo don't look at it like that. 😬 I get the feeling cause there are guitarists whose playing I find absolutely baffling but ultimately, it pushes me to practice more things out of my confort zone and improve whatever bit I can, even though I know I will never reach those levels of skill. But that's kinda always been the fun part of playing guitar for me 😊

One of my favourite Maiden songs of all time! The iconic guitar tone, the whammy bar dive riff, the bullet train galloping, Nicko sounding like he has double bass drums and Bruce demonstrating his sheer vocal capabilities. I wish they would play this live, even if just once…

As a kid I was always intimidated by these 2 solos in particular. They sounded so complicated to play. And I guess they are to an extent. Great solos. You played them bang on man.✊🏻

I hear ya, man! I was always a bit apprehensive about Dave's solo and tbh I was feeling that way even yesterday when I was going over the solos before filming! The fluidity of those licks is particularly hard to replicate.

Somewhere on tour 1986 in Drammen, Norway, was the first time I saw Iron Maiden live. The Maiden albums from the 80’s era is the soundtrack of my youth😎❤️ Brilliant guitarwork once again🤘

No doubt up there with each of their solos on " Powerslave" as one of their best of all time. Both Smith and Murray's individualistic styles and the way they complement one another are absolutely unparalleled.

My favorite solo by Adrian is the one on this amazing song. So much feeling and different techniques... Fantastic!

Best ever is a hard one to call but....it's definitely a great solo!

I gotta laugh when people talk about bands like Smashing Pumkins and how "skilled and full of emotion the guitar is" . Please. Going on 30 years of the album giving me chills and about 20 different levels.

You can't imagine how much joy it brings me seeing you play these Iron Maiden songs. Over the years and decades these songs are so ingrained in the synapses of my brain that any dissonance feels like an insult. There is no insult from your playing Nico, you do the songs justice and it feels good.

Maiden's No1 for me 🤘

Great job as usual Nico. These solos are god tier. 36 years already that this masterpiece was released. It will remain my favourite Maiden album, everything is just perfect. Production is top notch. The use of the Gallien Krueger 250ML was just perfection. I still remember when I first listen to it, I listened to Maiden for several years and I was blown away. 36 years FFS. Unlike me, it never get old 😂

Yeah, the mighty little Monster GK 250ML... I have 2 of them but I still wonder how they got them to sound like on the album, I cant recreate it. Its almost there, but just not the same. This album is absolutely Adrian's, it was his best record with Maiden. He had a major role during recording, he was responsible for the studio change from the Bahamas to Netherlands after the rhythm tracks were done. And he played a major role at the final mix, much more than he admits... We only know for sure, he and Martin Birch mixed it in Elecrtric Lady Studios in NY, but the sound and production just screams Adrian.

This is outstanding. If I didn't hear the differences in tone, I'd think it were the album recording. Criminally underplayed by the boys, let's see what Janick can bring with the third axe to the Somewhere in Time album as a whole Maiden!

Great job, congrats! to me this album contains some of most remarkable solos from both 🎸I remember (backing to the day It was released) that I was particularly shocked by Adrian's evolution ..he really shines here! Up the Irons 🤘🏻

On a scale from 0 to 10 you deserve the usual 11. Simply perfect.

Yeah nice!!! On time for the 36th birthday of the masterpiece Somewhere in Time, by the way. This in my opinion is their best solo section. Dave's solo is so legato, fast and flashy and Adrian's has lots of feeling and flash, too. This solo section has just everything that defines Maiden, including a gallop of course. This song has a very special place in my heart, thanks or covering it.

In my opinion, the sound of SIT album has a heavy influence of Adrian Smith, Peace of Mind album has a lot of Dave Murray's sound or music style. These two solos of Cought Somewhere in Time are the most beautiful from these two monsters. And it's hard to pick from any classic Maiden album. Great demonstration right there Nico!
