To be honest, the song is kind of samey throughout, but amazing covers like yours brings it to life, gives it another dimension. And to reiterate, the orchestra was just the cherry on top, the rest of you did an amazing job as well!

I first saw Maiden in London in 1983. This is superb. Well done sir.

This song changed my outlook on life when I was 16 and very impressionable. I was experiencing depression and anxiety for the first time and, combined with all of the other things teenagers go through, I had no idea what was happening, but I kept looking back, regretting decisions I had made to do or not do something. Wasted Years spoke so loudly to me. The lyrics are framed on my office wall now. And you made this song your own while giving a tremendous tribute to the original. I love your rendition! Thank you! And up the Irons!

One of the greatest Maiden songs. Your version makes it feel so different. In a good way tho. Makes it even more relatable than the original for me. It’s crazy. I was a troublemaking metal head and I left home earlier in life to get away and be me and live my life the way I wanted to. Been all over the states. Met some characters along the way. Lost contact with those back home. I came across your vid not too long ago and after a few times listening to it, i gained the strength I didn’t kno I needed to reach out and patch things up with the family I left behind. Just spent thanksgiving and Christmas with them and will return for the next holiday. I wanna thank you. Keep up the good work sir.

It is ok to live in the “now,” but no matter how hard the past was, the best thing to do is grow from it and better ourselves. Family is important. You can choose your “friends,” but family is family. Definitely a fan of yours sir. And I have shared my message to others that I know personally. I ask them to sit and listen to your version of wasted years. The cadence that you play it somehow makes it easier to grasp the message of that iconic song. You did that tune a justice 100%. The story behind how Adrian Smith wrote it in the months and years leading up to him leaving the band and how he was missing his young family so much really gets to me. I am very happy that he was able to leave the band to spend time with his family and when they got older he rejoined Maiden in 2000 and has been with them ever since.

I discovered your talent through your work with FFXIV, which was perhaps the most amazing of all the singers that worked on the game. You're certainly talented and I hope that it becomes realized and actualized in time. I heard the song Close in the Distance only a few days before my relatively young mother, 51, passed away. She was certainly a warrior and fought on more than many would have. Timing would be so perfect that your music video with the FFXIV team came out a day before the one year anniversary of her passing. Your work will perhaps be some of the most memorable in my life. Thank you for all your talent and hard work. A song is so many meanings and emotions for us all.
