1984 was an awesome year for heavy metal! Iron Maiden released 'Powerslave'. Judas Priest released 'Defenders of the Faith', and Twisted Sister released 'Stay Hungry'. I got to to see all three bands play live, songs from those records that year at the Long Beach Arena. Those were great times.

Among other things like a nearly worldwide shift to right-wing leaning governments. I follow the Doomsday clock and the newsletter they put out. 😁

Only way I can describe it is that they seemed to have a classiness and sophistication to their music. It can be aggressive but in another sense it was clever and classy. Today I am still blown away as to how far ahead of the game they are in their knowledge. I had the pleasure of seeing maiden 7 times in the 80s they used to start touring in England then Ireland so between Belfast and Dublin in the same 2 nights sometimes maiden I grew up with and maiden Il die with 🤘🤘

Tariq Majumder i dont really think there’s a best heavy metal song, but some good metal bands are sabaton, dragon force, five finger death punch, and metallica those are the ones i listen to and of course iron maiden

If I remember right when this single came out in the UK it went straight to #1 in the singles chart. They were on the awful Top of the Pops but when they were on stage they didn't do the usual mime to the tune. No these boys played live and loud to a crowd of teeny boppers. The look on their faces was priceless.

Out of all their songs, this is my all time favourite.

Maiden are the best, such catchy well constructed, tunes & riffs. Lyrics that have depth and not just about, any old scary fantasy. The older I get, the more Maiden, seem to make, even more sense, than ever. Thank you, Bruce & the boys.

Iron maiden forever

Out of all the heavy metal bands, I have to say Iron Maiden is my favorite although I'm also in love with Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, etc.

When I think heavy metal this is the first song that pops into my mind.
