Iron Butt Challenge | Saddle Sore 1000

Ride with me on one of the most tiring bike trips I have ever taken. The Iron Butt challenges are no joke. I did the Saddle Sore 1000, which is the bottom of the totem pole in the Iron Butt world, and it nearly kicked my butt (pun intended). Thank You for watching!!

I did that once when I was 19 years old without a windshield! I could still feel my arm hair moving in the wind a day later! It was wonderful in hindsight but I was so tired....Completely wiped....

Good job, you should get extra points for not having a windshield. I thought it was bad enough when I did it a couple of years ago on an Ultra.

Great video. I should have tried this 13 years ago when I first got my motorcycle. I don’t think I could make it at my age now. I drove 1,000 miles straight in a car about 8 years ago. That was rough back then.

I’ve been down to NC and up to NE Indiana many times and that Indiana stretch is always the longest and most boring for me. At this stage in life when I ride my bike on a trip it’s going to be relaxed and enjoyable. Hopefully you had some fun with the experience.

I did this coming back from Florida to Ohio. Rode 1,100 miles roughly in 15 hours on a 2004 Yamaha RoadStar 1700. I was getting it, only stopping for fuel an some times I didn’t even get off the bike. To be honest it sucked, but I wanted to see if I could do it. I doubt I’ll ever do it again.
